Why would exchanges want you to get liquidated? Wouldn't it hurt them considering their source of income the fees of your trades?

Do u know where your money goes after liquidation? Do you know where your money comes from when you win a trade? The answer to both of those questions are the exchange's pockets

they want to get your money as quickly as possible
if you don't trade often, getting your money through fees takes too long a time
so they want you trading as often as possible and preferably in instruments they promote where they are on the other side or where they have order flows with the big banks

fees from your trades are only a small part of their income
