What is the consequence of law abiding citizens knowing the truth about bitcoin?
>>61323622dont i wish a nigga would...
omg chinese broccoli said then it must be true, where can I buy chinese quantum bitcoin pls
SUM TING WONG
>>61323652that's how it works
>>61323622e=mc^2+AI
>>61323622ching chong I hacked bitcoin chong ping trust me pong
>>61323622Quantum computing is theoretically impossible. Unironically. Your favorite scientists are wrong.
>load ze Korean FUD
>>61323740If that was true they wouldn't have spent the last 10 years working on post quantum cryptography. Its 100% theoretically possible
Sneed
>>61324355Damn, midwit comment.
>>61324355Quantum computers don't exist, It's a black hole for money. A grift. A fairytail. It exists only in theory.
>>61324509You don’t know enough on this topic to be calling anyone a midwit. You may go ahead and call me a midwit like I know you want to.
>load ze quantum fud
>>61324540who the fuck are you? you're not a part of this conversation. and what the fuck do you think you know about me? little boy of nothing. that's all that you will ever be and you know it. now shut the fuck up and be quiet.
>>61324576Compelling arguments!
>>61324355>if that was true they wouldn't have spent 10 years working on itLMAO NO. They would have done exactly that, whether it works or not>t. research scientist
>>61324587I do have compelling arguments but no reason to waste effort on a little boy of nothing.Anyone who isnt going around screaming I fucking love science understands that quantum computing is never going to materialize. You will never have a coherent state. The more magical qbits you add into your system, the more discoherent it will get.You would know that if you didn't get your science from Kurtzgesagt, Veritasium and IFLS.
>>61324600You get your opinion from Martin Shkreli and act like you’re an authority on the space. Touch grass
>>61324600I’m not who you originally replied to and I’m bearish on QC too lmao I was just calling you out for ad hominem filled, substance-less screeching. Embarrassing!
>>61323740They've already had it for decade+
>>61324616Never heard him talk about QC, not even once. I rarely look at what he says. If he is saying the same thing, he is simply right.Only a fool writes off things because they are said by some guy they don't like.
>>61323622The reality is that if Bitcoin dies people will simply get off of internet nothing's and take the liquidity with them elsewhere. They will not buy the "post-quantum" bags these guys are shilling.
>>61324688If this were true, there would be a raiding of central bank coffers and state treasuries unlike anything ever seen before. And if the current stewards of such a machine were unwilling to do so, they'd be murdered and replaced by those that would. The upside is far too great for (state level) psychopaths to ignore
>>61324689I like Martin. Christ you’re quick to assume things. Makes me wonder about your other opinions!
>>61324576>>61324600 Little boy of nothingCome blow your hornThe wojaks are pinkThis jeet's out of form
If quantum computers that currently exist today were modified to mine blocks it would unironically be over for bitcoin since bitcoin's consensus is secured computing power, when you mine bitcoin you don't even need a private key, (Bitcoin private keys are quantum proof and they don't even use it to secure their network (just the individual wallets)). A quantum computer would instantly 51% the network without purchasing a single satoshi. Proof of stake is far more quantum proof because the consensus AND individual wallets are secured by private keys. To 51% Chainlink they would need to crack the private keys of 51% of the staked LINK, which are quantum proof.
>>61325585The theoretical process for deriving a private key with quantum computing is actually much easier than the process of mining a block would be. So in reality, the hashrate is much safer than most wallets.>Reminder that the best way to protect your coins from the quantum threat is to keep them in a wallet that has never sent a transaction or signed a message (never revealed a public key).
>>61325585Not how it works. QC trivially breaks ECC.Ethereum relies on ECC for transactions and for consensus (PoS).SHA256 for PoW is reduced to 2^128 complexity. (Remember that 12 word seed have 128 bits or less of security and they are safe from normal computers.) You would just end up mining with a super expensive QC. Cheap asics would have lower power consumption and be more readily available/have higher total hashrate.
