Everyone loves to lecture about “car-dependent suburban sprawl.”

Until they realize walkable cities don’t come with bonus rooms, cul-de-sacs, or a Chili’s within a 9-minute drive.

Because let’s face it.

Nothing sparks joy like a 3,200-sq-ft vinyl castle with a driveway big enough for six cars and zero pedestrians.
>>

you can also just choose where to live. if you want to be downtown, live downtown.
>>

thats a lot of words just to say "im too broke to live in the city"
>>
I used to live in St Pete's. I had a grocery store on the first floor of my apartment, a metro station 7 minutes walk away, a park 10. Nothing a suburb offers can beat that convenience.
>>
What’s wrong with not having a chilis within 9 feet, it promotes local businesses over chains.
>>

Fuck your faggot suburbia too. Get real land, preferably forested. At the very least, go semi-rual. I dont understand how one can fucking live next to people. Are you a fucking insect?

Love my mcmansion. 3000sq ft, 2 living rooms and an upstairs loft for my game room

I also pay a 2k CDD annually and get access to multiple club houses with pools, billiards, tennis, basketball, volleyball, picnic area and parks for the kids.

And all of it requires the RFID card to access. No freeloaders. No brown people

For, me it's Walmart. I never want to live more than 15min drive from a Walmart.

I have Chili's within a 9-minute walk because I live in a commie block and 500 meters away from it there's a park where I can perform calisthenics, jog, cycle, and in the future, potentially bring my kids to do all of it together while also sitting down and doing fuck all while they play in the kid's playground.
In the other direction, around 500m away, there's a big shopping centre that includes, but isn't limited to:
>general store
>hardware store
>warehouse with free shipment to it for e-shop I am a customer of
>cafe
>like 7 different restaurants of various types and qualities
What else do I need? Did I tell you that it takes me 10 mins to go there without a car?

The following redpill isn't just hard to swallow. It's literal death via knowledge for the wrong person. We're talking dozens of gallons of cyanide compacted into a single gram. Its okay if you won't want to swallow it, but I PROMISE if you do, you'll come out better than 97% of your peers mathematically guaranteed. Anyways it's this:

Cars are the worse possible thing you can buy.

I'll say it again. Okay? Cars are the worse possible thing you can buy.

I know. I know I know. It feels like I'm some shill trying to trick you or some radical urbanist but just dip your toes in this rabbit hole for a second.

Roughly 100 years ago, The American banks were make astronomical amounts of money as the there was endless post war prosperity. It could have gone one forever. It really could have. But then the elites got greedy. They got used to their endless wealth and wanted more. But what do you do when the consumers are already paying all they can? You get them to with debt.

Up until that point, the American public was making it and achieving the American dream. Even the American Negro was finally reaching peak freedom.

But it wasn't enough so powers in charge pushed the original commerical car and told you that you weren't "in" unless you had one. There was just one problem: The American man couldn't afford this new invention. So what did they do? They pushed the modern credit system at the first time. They so now they make it feel "normal" to go into debt all just for something that wasn't necessary and could have been fixed with more buses/trains. They told you that it was normal. That you're being cool and adult by gong into debt and losing everything.

This very push for debt later in that century would cost the banks to loan too much money, once the banks started to run out of money to borrow and it was time to pay up, it would cause the greatest economic disaster in history.

Yes. The commerical car caused The Great Depression. You can look it up.

The Crises of economic hardship and global war kept the problem at bay, but by the 50s, people had money again, but they still needed to keep the masses subordinate and debt lest they will achieve true freedom, so what did they do? They created the highway system. It wasn't framed as "for commercial transportation to keep you in debt" as you could always just have more buses and trains. No, instead of was framed as "logistics" to fight the Soviets. This narrative help push the lie you see today: That cars are a way to fight freedom and that by being indebted to your neo-federalist rulers, you are somehow fighting communism.

This bill was approved with a 388–19 supermajority of McCarthyist Neo-Boomers rather than actual people who cared about transportation.

This would be the death of the land of the free.

Suburbs created pseudo dystopic timebombs that are forced to take over.

Foreign countries took over the businesses making us reliant on outsiders that could blackmail us at anytime.

Drive thrus skyrocketed the obesity rate.

Walking didnt die out organically. It was made illegal by autolobbyists who put machine over man.

Climate change destroyed the land.

Churches became more cult-like and isolated as man could just drive away to more hugbox grifters dressed as preachers who promised more money to pay off the debt that cars put them in.

Yes, Cars paved the way for the moral collapse of Christianity through prosperity Gospel grifters. Look up "Post-Automobile Congregational Mobility" if you don't believe me. Its a redpill in itself.

The Mid 2008s was when it all crashed once again . The same high debt mixed with cars, only now there are too many car owners and too much debt. A multi-trillion dollar industry too big to fail.

The auto industry received countless billions in bailouts by the government as their jewel can't be erased as they realized something: Yes the tea party and occupy wallstreet being created might be bad, but the car is still gong to make money even with it. The tea party is going to pay for trucks and occupy wallstreet is too obsessed with racial lines to ever meaningfully challenge the auto industry. So Americans would blame credit card companies and the politicians but not why and what they were spending on and not what policies were making the auto industry that necessary to bail out.

Fast forward to today, and everyone feels the need to dry and even immigrants, but legal and illegal immediately flock to get a license to drive before even getting a job.

Stoads keep us further divided between unwalkable streets killing communities.

Rural America is in a perma death spiral where they get blocked off by the highways, restricting their opportunity, forcing them to become more secluded, which demands for more cars, to put them into more debt.
3/5
>>
>Cool history lesson, but what does that have to do with me?

Assuming you pay 700 month in cars, you are missing out in 288000 over 40 years. This doesn't sound like a lot, until you think of the opportunity cost. That same 700 a month invested for an average of 5% yearly is literally over a million dollars. Add everything else you save and you will do better than literally 97% of the population.

This is what they don't want you to know.

They want you to keep spending because spending keeps the economy going.

But this is how you break out. Just by skipping out of a car.

But you can do it. You can escape a system that kills 360 million animals a day. That destroys God's beautiful earth with ugly roads and smog clouds.

You can vote for whoever you want without worrying about gas prices.

Then there's pure idea THAT you broke free. It means that all algorithms, systems and market research can't detect you. They literally can't enslave you anymore. You're free and when you're free, you can start to see the truth of it all. You own yourself. Not the credit system. Not the banks. Not the auto industry. You.

4/5
>>
>>61386119
>How do we escape?
There's only one way for you personally and society as a whole to escape:

To imagine a different world.

It's that simple, but it's harder to really internalize.

The sad truth of the matter is that the system isn't believed because it's effective, it's effective because people believe it. The great lie of car centricity. Is perhaps one of the biggest ones of all time.

Most Americans quite literally can't imagine using public transportation.

Most Americans quite literally can't imagine walking 30 minutes to work.

Most Americans imagine living without a car.

Bust most Americans are also in debt, living paycheck to paycheck.

It has become their reality. It's "normal" to lose your money. Your value.

It doesn't have to be yours. And that's the secret.

Whenever you bring up this stuff, you will be the same answer:
"Okay maybe it's bad, but care are necessary"

And that's the real trap. If they convince you it's "necessary" to get a car, then it means it's "necessary" to go into debt and it's "necessary" to keep the system up. Anything such as NYC's congestion tax is instantly wrong no matter what the numbers or math show. It is their reality.

We need to escape this way of thinking. We need to realize that the math of the car doesn't make sense and that you're being tricked into buying something that doesn't make sense because of an unstable system that wasn't supposed to work for us.

It will be hard. I will not lie. It will be maybe the biggest choice in your life.

You will have to turn opportunities, you will have to look your parents, wife and children in the face and say "so am not getting a car". People will harass you nonstop about needing a ride. They will harass you about getting a car. You will walk sidewalks. They will insist you're going to get hurt despite how unbelievably common car crashes are. They will force 50 car commercials down your throat each sports game and movie

But it is necessary. It is your reality.

Yeah but the actual annoying part is that people like OP harass over not buying a debt machine because you take the bus. Even the average normie "claps" when you take the bus/train to places because of how "dedicated" you are while harassing you about needing a ride when your aunt and uncles harass you about when you're buying a car and every station has 50 million car commercials and everyone wants you to believe you're missing out to be with "poor people" when in reality you probably have 8 times more saved up than them and could buy a car if you really wanted to.

>driveway big enough for six cars and zero pedestrians
You may be interested to know that available street parking is a major problem in some of these communities. People fill half or all of garage with stuff, park on driveway. If they have teenage children or house guests, those will park on the street. The streets fill up fast. This is a point of contention in my neighborhood due to the age of the community. It was a completely new development in the 90s catering to young families. Now all the kids from the original owners are in their 20s still living at home still owning their own cars parked on the street. Plus some of the houses were converted to split upper/lower rental suites. Situation created where what should have been ample parking is now congested every day.
