Am I being overly frugal or just rational?
>(M24) with a stable job ($1000/month in a third world country where the medium wage is 300)
>Everyone my age is spending mindlessly on foods and drinks
>I sweat even about the slightest spendings (always picking the cheapest drink when I go to a coffee shop, cheapest option on eveything) so I can save up
>currently saved about 4-5000 dollars now which I am quite proud because it's hard-earned and I feel I will have saved much more by the time I'm 30 (if I for instance invest with said money)
>The etiquette of "let me buy you a drink/meal" makes me uncomfortable because I have to return the favor one way or another or when I have to buy food for my girflriend and my spending is out of my control
>I hate being inside either so i gotta spend one way or another

is it OCD, frugality or both, or am I just being rational?

also dont just save. you will lose money to inflation. DCA into a whole stock market index fund something like MSCI ACWI or FTSE All World

You have forethought, might want to get a store of value because currencies can be inflated away, gold and silver is a good store of value, keep thinking about your future and dont be a hand to mouth idiot and youll be able to relax one day

anon im 30 and ive been saving like crazy for the last 8 years
i honestly regret not having lived up a bit more things worked out better than expected and there are some things that are only possible when youre still in your early 20s
set a fun budget like 50-100 per month try not to use it but if you dont dont mind and never surpass it
voila

Hot take if you don't have the balls to spend (not waste it all gambling, not waste on big purchases etc) but you jew out on buying your friend a meal you are gay and not going to make it because you don't have the balls to believe you can simply get it back. Skill issue, learn to move money you fucking cheap ass
