Am I being overly frugal or just rational?>(M24) with a stable job ($1000/month in a third world country where the medium wage is 300)>Everyone my age is spending mindlessly on foods and drinks>I sweat even about the slightest spendings (always picking the cheapest drink when I go to a coffee shop, cheapest option on eveything) so I can save up>currently saved about 4-5000 dollars now which I am quite proud because it's hard-earned and I feel I will have saved much more by the time I'm 30 (if I for instance invest with said money)>The etiquette of "let me buy you a drink/meal" makes me uncomfortable because I have to return the favor one way or another or when I have to buy food for my girflriend and my spending is out of my control>I hate being inside either so i gotta spend one way or anotheris it OCD, frugality or both, or am I just being rational?

Hot take if you don't have the balls to spend (not waste it all gambling, not waste on big purchases etc) but you jew out on buying your friend a meal you are gay and not going to make it because you don't have the balls to believe you can simply get it back.
