What do they know?
Why is China stacking so much gold?
>>
>>61452466
they staking a lot of silver too
>>
Fear
China is building a moat against the war by oil money, old money, dollar money, Israel and a big chunk of new tech money against the post napoleonic london banker communist clans that also fucked china over 40 years.
>>
>>61452466
China has been around for 5000 years
They play the smart game. The long game. They're not fucking retarded like idiot western leaders.

The USA made incredible profit by issuing the world's foremost trade and reserve currency since WWII. China is aware of this. China also sees that the era of unchallenged dollar supremacy is coming to an end. What currency will replace the USD as the world's trade and reserve currency? My bet would be on a gold-backed currency and if I were China, I would be positioning myself to issue one..
>>
>>61452466
what everybody knows besides a deluded part of the population (most of it, really). The usd is on its way out and the reset will be backed by precious metals, at least in the beginning. Like it has always been in history.
>>
>>61452524
Lol
China is made aware that Europe is getting dollarized
>>
>>61452505
Yes. "Gold QE" would be a good name for it, and really, I can't think of a problem with it. If you create inflation, gold goes up. If gold goes up, your central bank reserves are stronger, so you can print more. If you print more, gold goes up, so you can print more. You destroy your fiat currency, but if you're an export economy, who cares? Your debt is evaporating and your exports are more competitive.
>>
>>61452543
The issue arises when Russia is getting forced to liquidate when it choses the wrong side
Also you stupid retard are really thinking like it is still the 1980s and no player is aware how vulnerable re-leveraged uncovered debt pyramid ponzi scheming is. China is likely getting fucked as revenge by their former allies in London
>>
>>61452482
Next taiping revolution, leap forward, bird genocide when, my yellow friend?
>>
>>61452543
And if, as a byproduct, you increase gold mining, then your central banks hold even more. If they hold even more, they can print even more to buy even more. You're inflating the value of your gold, which unlike housing, not everybody needs, only the central banks. You could then use that elevated price of gold to replace US bonds and the dollar as the reserve currency, which means you gain independence too.

There is no downside here for China.
>>
>>61452564
Ahahahahahahahahahaha
You really think its still the 1980s
>>
>>61452553
I don't think you've thought this one through. The wrong side would be the side of US bond holders and those without gold. If US debt to GDP needs to be inflated down, who loses? The gold holders? No.
>>
>>61452553
>the dollar is so popular, many people go into debt for it
Not the argument you think it is.
>>
>>61452567
I am not assuming that US bonds are king, so no, I do not think it's the 1980's. I think that right now, things are looking very 1970's in the west, with an inverse 1980's on the way, actually.
>>
>>61452466
That's a lot of gold, but it's not much at all considering their population size. Even germoney has a 50% larger gold reserve.
>>
>>61452466
there is nothing else to buy to replace us paper
>>
>>61452582
Google "countries with biggest private gold holdings".
>>
>>61452573
Oh us bonds go on a fire sale, and the parties to buy up the fire sale are in place, me for example and old money clans, oil money clans, Isreal and a big chunk of new tech money
>>61452575
Em, marshal plan by fifth fleet
>>61452580
You largely overestimate the power that the stuck in the 1980s communist globalist banker still have. And China is very happy about sticking a dagger into the party that enslaved them for over 40 years, so are the Japanese and the Russian are going to shrug and join to kill the new nazis
>>
>>61452585
>private
I mean sure, but it's not like the majority of their people would just willingly dig up their coins and donate it to the ccp when asked.
Even the ccp can't force that, it'll lead to total ccpdeath
>>
>>61452556
They had to do that to save "face".
>>
>>61452626
My point would be that even if their reserves are about the same size as the US, which makes sense given their fishy production, import and export numbers, the population itself is gold rich, so it cancels out the population size vs reserves argument.
>>
>>61452638
My argument is that if SHTF, their gold reserves are wholly insufficient to uphold, or even contribute significantly to the sustainment of governmental institutions in order to uphold order in a country of that size in any meaningful capacity.
>>
>>61452466
China has a huge trade surplus. They need to put that money into something. Gold is safer than foreign IOUs that the issuer might default on, as happened to Russia

(kinda related) Ray Dalio claims:
The United States and all the other countries’ governments that have overborrowed and are democratically run are now in a position where they a) can’t increase their debts as they did before, b) can’t raise taxes enough, and c) can’t cut spending enough to prevent running deficits and increasing their debts. They are stuck.
To explain in more detail:
They can’t borrow enough because there isn’t adequate free-market demand for their debt. (This is because they are already overindebted, and the holders of their debt already have too much of it.) Also, international holders of debt assets of other countries (e.g., China) worry that the war-like conflicts could lead to them not being paid back, so their buying of bonds is waning and they are shifting their debt assets into gold.
They can’t raise taxes enough because if they raise taxes on the top 1-10% of people (who have most of the wealth), a) these people will leave, taking their tax paying with them, or b) the politicians will lose the support of the top 1-10% (which is important to fund expensive campaigns), or c) they will pop the bubble.
And they can’t cut spending and cut benefits enough because that’s politically and, perhaps, morally unacceptable, especially as those cuts will disproportionately affect those in the bottom 60%…
…so they are stuck.

IMO, gold literally just sits there and does nothing but going forward if the pack believes gold is money, then it is and I position accordingly. I don't see anything/anyone putting a stop the debt trains, plus for those who own assets and who are closest to power, it's great. From their POV, not my problem
>>
They stack, so nobody can seize their money once they attack Taiwan (two moar weeks).

They witnessed how russian assets were freezed by the west when the war began.
So they are partly leaving from dollar nominated assets and transfer it to gold instead.
Also there are rumors they want to create a partly gold/precious metals-backed brics-currency as an alternative to the dollar in in the international trade.

Italy - 2,451.9 tonnes
France - 2,437 tonnes
China - 2,280 tonnes
India - 876.2 tonnes
Japan - 846 tonnes
Switzerland - 1,039.9 tonnes

One of these countries almost single handedly decided world war two and basically built the global system of commerce

And one of them rolled tanks into their capital city in 1989 and shot tens of thousands of their own people
>>
>>61452528
The problem with this thesis is that the margin of error for the range is too high. It could be now, or it could be within your grandchildren's lifetime. How many people are going to successfully pass a vault full of literal gold to their grandkids?
