It's because of their games that you get a once in a multigenerational opportunity to reap a windfall.

If you're younger than a boomer, you've been fucked out of nearly every normal opportunity that young men have taken for granted for generations.

The only way things could be worse is to for young men to be forcibly conscripted and sent to their death in a meat grinder like in Ukraine.

Because silver = silver, right my guy? The amount in circulation or the cost of mining it simply has no impact on its value, which is perfectly unchanging across millennia. Amazing.

The only answer is to become ungovernable.

Do people control the government, or does the government rule the people without their consent? If the latter then people are slaves. Is this the proper method of living for a rational animal?

This is still retarded logic, silver is undervalued yes, but there is absolutely zero point in trying to draw comparisons between its value in fucking ancient roman times versus its value now.

You know what else was super valuable in ancient rome? Glass. Steel. Purple dye. FOOD.

An ounce of silver cost hours of labour in ancient rome because it took hours of labour to mine, like everything else was comparatively so much more expensive before automation.

the labor to obtain silver has nothing to do with the price. your silver isnt inherently more valuable because you took a year to manually dig it up. what matters is scarcity. and silver has never been more scarce.

Silver is in electronics for phones, cars, solar panels and medical equipment. Not everyone can have a solar panel and electric vehicle but for some reason the low prices of todays solar panels and electric cars makes people think that silver is abundant and the fore cheap... this artificial abundance is ending.
If a single solar panel uses 40 grams, then 10 on a house is 400 grams which is ~12 toz, and then a tesla is 1 kg of silver ~32 toz,. That person there with the panels and car uses 44 toz of silver which is 44 people's worth. very quickly one see's how giving everyone advanced technology is not possible with the available resources.

Both. Only a handful of them understand macroeconomics or geopolitics and the ones that do ultimately understand that a high silver price is bad for crypto because graphics cards/crypto miners require silver to work.

When you factor in all of the AI datacenter projects coming online, trade wars, real wars, green energy/solar panels, inflation, pending market crash, etc. etc. etc the writing on the wall pretty clearly implies that we (based and redpilled rock enjoyers) will unironically pull the plug on their ability to make a profit in crypto.

you ever realize why food is cheap? Because they subsidize the companies and farmers to give the people the mental safe feelings of stability and comfort. They keep it cheap to keep the sheeple calm and docile. Yes technology made food cheaper and much lower in quality and in most cases probably somewhat toxic to your health. Do you eat the cheapest food you can find? Eww.

Even though advances in mining have happening to make mass production profitable, the remote locations and lower quality silver ore balances out the gains in efficiency. So before you go calling others retard, you need to think of the macro and develop an understanding of the topic before you tell everyone you took the covid 19 vaccine without telling us you did.

You are an actual spastic attempting to make a logical pretzel by implying that the reason silver, and as a matter of fact ALL forms of metal from ancient rome, are comparatively 100x cheaper today, is not because we mine and refine it at 100x the scale and 100x the efficiency, but because of... "Government subsidies"

Genuine mega retard.
>>
>>61490914
>food went from being 80% of peoples costs to 20%
this isnt true at all. half of people are on food stamps and are subsidized, their food costs are actually closer to 200% their costs. people are poorer than ever. and yes labor does not = value, this is commie logic who wonder why they are poor when they "work hard". like i said, silver has never been more scarce and the people who actual have silver right now hold like 90% of it. the roman empire had the population of a small modern european country, we are talking about the global economy, the average roman citizen was richer than the average modern person.

>we mine ancient romes yearly output every day with machines the size of buildings?

It's perfectly conceivable to imagine a situation where the US dollar collapses. In such an event, supply chains get disrupted, production drops, along with standards of living that we take for granted.

In the immediate aftermath barter will become the immediate medium of exchange. The best and most desirable barter goods will be those that are fungible, compact, high value density, durable and desirable due to being a luxury good.

Gold and silver are the ideal barter items for these reasons.

There's been talk of revaluing gold (devaluing the dollar) to $40,000/oz. At a 20:1 ratio, silver would be $2000/oz, 40:1 would be $1000/oz which would put it well within the range of value of a Denarius during Roman times.

I try to not go too heavy on US coins since the Bloumpf tariffs tho, burgers are a bit nervous ordering from the EU because they get charged an extra 20%, plus french postal services straight up cancelled parcels shipping to the US since last summer. Also i'd like your expertize since i'm not too familiar with mint errors yet. I purchased this one as a date filled die error 1877 US Trade Dollar. I've no reason to doubt the seller, it's a reputable pro seller. He got absolutely incredible stuff, sadly i can't afford most the stuff he auction, but i've spent at least 15K€ to his shop lol.
But i myself can't tell if it hasn't been done later (i don't know why someone would do that tho)... and i couldn't find any similar filled die among trade dollars, so i'd really enjoy your thought on this one.
In any case i'd be happy with the coin, i didn't pay any premium for this mint error, the coin even went for slightly below normal's 1877 market value.

That's great, how does all of that lead to the conclusion that the price in labor hours must rise until it equals that of ancient Rome?

An M2 Browning + ammo in ancient Rome could have singlehandedly turned the tide of almost any battle. Back then it would have been essentially priceless, you could have bought an army with one. I guess that means we are overdue for a big repricing on M2 Brownings once the world figures out how valuable they really are (in ancient Rome).

>Idk man, we are talking about a historical ally (vassal) totally shutting down private parcels shipping with no intent to reopen it until the tariffs are gone.
Short of a declaration of war, is that even legal under international law?

Are they allowing private couriers like DHL to operate? I know that Canada briefly imposed retarded counter tariffs on EVERYTHING coming from the USA, changing the rules WITHOUT notice which created a multimillion dollar disaster between customers and shippers.

They dropped that shit quickly when it caused the entire system to seize up.

My contention is that it is conceivable that silver could increase in relative value in purchasing power to the equivalent value of a Denarius. At least for a short period of time.

Silver is more likely to go up in value to equal the purchasing power of the Denarius in Roman times than it is for the US Government to reduce it's spending to 5.5% of GDP

Yeah your suspicion is probably correct, around the space left by the missing "7" you can see 2 roughly parallel tooling marks and a divot which you wouldn't have with a filled-die error. With a filled die often there'd still be a faint raised ghost or trace of the part that got filled but on your coin the surface of the metal was scraped down even lower. Unfortunately it's just a modified coin and that's probably why you got it cheap, but I'm sure you could sell it to a burger for profit, trade dollars are very exotic and desirable collectibles here.

Bought some 100 toz Elemetal bars some time ago, it was either at spot or $0.70 over (too lazy to check). In hindsight, I should've bought constitutionals instead. The minor savings would've add up to a lot, allowing me to slurp up more silver. At the time, I thought it was a good deal (still do, more cost effective vs generic rounds), oh well. As for the bars themselves, they definitely have some heft to them. I had imagined the bars being really shiny, with a mirror finish, but that's not the case (have some dents and scratches).

That's the key. Especially once one has a some smaller pieces for liquidity. If 100oz is the lowest cost per oz, get it. If 90% is available at a discount to spot, go for it.

Get the most weight in silver for the least cost to maximize quantity. When silver goes to 3 digits, the only thing that matters will be the absolute weight.

It would explain the debris cloud where there should be a planet between Mars and Jupiter.
Also, if I recall correctly, Mars has a shit load of Xenon, which doesn't occur in any significant amounts in nature.
It requires nuclear detonations.
Also, the human circadian rhythm is 25 hours long.
Same as a Martian day.

>It's 24 hours and 30 mins.
What an odd period. What's it based on?
>>
>>61491252
>>61491150
An alternate hypothesis explaining the debris would be that Saturn was our original star, Mars, Venus and Earth were in something called a linear polar orbit, and Sol (our current Sun) came too close, and captured the galactic electrical circuit, turning Saturn from a red giant into a gas planet.

The enormous electrostatic forces wrecked Mars, made Venus incandescent and fried a bunch of early humans, (carving Grand Canyon in a few hours or days for example) and terrified the survivors.
https://youtu.be/1qdT75I9Fuw
https://youtu.be/6fjcPguafug

Although orthogonal to the above thesis, I also believe that there was a high probability of intelligent humanoid life on Mars in the past.

HOLY SHIT!
I don't usually watch these kind of videos but it showed some really important information:
>the first part talks about whatever SETF and /pmg/ is talking about, about silver mooning to at least $700, nothing unexpected here
>the second part talks about the current stock market: EVERY SINGLE PART within the stock market is already down right now by 50-70%, EXCEPT the tech/AI sector which averaged keeps everything afloat. This is really BIG and it explains the other thread in /biz/ that the tech sector must not be allowed to crash, because that's the only thing keeping things afloat! Literally the whole economy has changed its focus from human needs to just keeping some machines churning along. When the tech sector goes down, everything is going down.
>the third part talks about the cycle investing approach, and it predicts the gold bull run that's starting now is going to last around 10 year (+- 2 years) and it suggests to stay away from the stock market until then; you rotate to stocks in 10 years; he predicts $16,000 gold, and 1 ounce gold = 0.75 S&P stock, nothing unusual here

Hey scrapchad, great to see you back the last couple days. We've missed your expertise.

I agreed with you on frogbro's trade dollar, it looked like tool marks to me as well.

I can't remember if I ever posted the coin I got "ripped off" on before. I know I've told the story a few times.
The seller had listed a "GILMAN POOL HALL" token at auction with no reserve. He listed it as Gilman Colorado, a small mining ghost town near me. If it was from Gilman Colorado it would've been worth maybe $125-$200 or so. Me and some other fool had bid it up to $62 before we must have both decided to go look the thing up on tokencatalog. Turns out it was actually attributed to two other towns, neither one in Colorado. The other bidder dropped out and I ended up with the token. I've kept it just because I don't want someone else going and selling it again as a ghost town token.

also I suppose it's possible it's from Gilman Colorado and the other two attributions are in error. I haven't actually checked if there was a Gilman Pool Hall in Gilman Colorado because records from the town are very limited. But most likely it's not from Gilman near me.

anyways here's a pic, it's on the right. One on the left is an authentic Gilman CO token, with the name spelled wrong. I think I picked the authentic one up in the $150 range during covid. Hopefully the pic is rotated correctly, my editing has been fucking up lately.

the seller who sold me the badly ID'd Gilman token had also accidentally sold me an $800 token for $36 once so I didn't make a fuss about the Gilman thing. That one he didn't bother to set a reserve and started bidding at $0.99 apparently because he was confident it would go at or near previous sales. Not sure why nobody bid on it, but I got that one amazingly cheap. After that he started setting the initial bids at $200-$400 for tokens from that town and did a lot better.

Not necessarily. I've been watching very expensive low-mintage new coins climbing up at a rate faster than the spot. Once they sell out (and depending on the design) they get silly expensive. I'm becoming a fan of the pricier stuff.

so, if silver keeps increasing in price, won't it eventually become too expensive for use in the various technological applications that are driving current / future demand? For example, solar panels could make up 30% of all annual silver use, but if the price is $1000 per oz, doesn't that make aluminum a more attractive alternative?

for solar panels specifically, an all aluminum version was patented in 2015. it takes twice the aluminum, but they claimed there was no loss in performance at 0.6% the materials cost

I think its hardly a stretch for "hoarding" to be labeled as an act detrimental to supply chains, ans theres nothing explicitly limiting the role to trade only. Im not saying its EO6102, but shartbrothers need to keep their heads up.

>>
>>61491854
silver carbon battery that will be rolled out will help keep the price up.
Industry will of course try to find alternatives but international green initiatives will continue to subsidize. Entire markets won't swap completely. Especially when alternatives are less durable and untested thus far.
>>
>>61491851
>why wouldn’t the industry have switched already?
Because industry NEEDS something that will work for 20-30 years. There's lots of promising technology, but most of it hasn't been proven.

Classic silver/silicon based panels have been used since the 1950s.

Solar/Wind power are retarded outside of niche off grid applications. They are neither baseload, nor dispatchable, and contaminate a well running power grid with unscheduled intermittancy which necessitates enormous infrastructure to mitigate.

Ratepayers get raped while the top 10% collect huge subsidies.

Average amount of silver in a solar panel: >An average solar panel contains about 20 grams (roughly 0.64 ounces) of silver, used as a conductive paste for "fingers" and "busbars" to collect electrons, though amounts vary from 3.2 to 8 grams per square meter.
Average cost of a single solar panel:
>$300
Average cost to install solar panel system:
>$15k to $27k

So, no.

And, before you ask, the new solid state silver batteries for EVs could contain 1kg of silver per car. At $100/oz, that's about $3200/car. It would currently cost $2000/car. This is meaningless for a $35k-$60k vehicle with a battery that lasts 20years, has a 9min charging time, and twice the range of a comparably priced lithium powered EV.

The US dollar will become toilet paper by the time silver hits the $1000/oz, and then industrial use won't matter at all because the world will be done with fiat.

We already have a comparable, recent historical example with platinum. A catalytic converter uses something like 7 to 9 grams of platinum. From 1998 to 2008, platinum increased from $349/oz to $2000/oz. Did the world stop making cars? Did cars become luxury items, only available to the wealthy? No. Think about the questions you're asking before asking them, and you may prevent yourself from asking dumb questions.

I was going to inb4 this question, but had more faith in this board than it deserves.

It's a 20 year battery. They'll build it into the car so that you'd basically need to take the car apart to get to it. Catalytic converters hang exposed beneath a car - the car can have every entry point welded shut, and one guy with a Sawzall can still remove the cat in 5min. It's like saying keeping gold in a safe in your house is the same as keeping it in your mailbox - i.e., please think about the question first.
>>
>>61491910
>>61491935
Also, the silver in a solid state silver battery isn't a kilo bar with .999 stamped on it. It's a silver containing chemical slurry, and you need a lab to turn it into pure silver. And then you need to convince a buyer that your Cletus n Jamal bar is legit.

Silver supply is NOT elastic. Jae Kwon appears to know nothing about the industry.

As most in this thread already know, 70% of silver production is byproduct from base metal mining, and the silver price typically represents a rounding error in their balance sheet. Often not even listed as a line item. The price of silver has zero meaningful effect on the amount of silver being produced.

The remaining 30% of silver production is from silver mines. Due to the generationally low price, there has been little exploration or development of new silver mines. From discovery to production we are looking at a 10 year minimum timeframe to bring meaningful amounts of new silver mine production online.

I think silver is due to drop after the first of the year, but what do I know?

I do know over time the dollar is going to continue to shit the bed and seems to be getting much worse lately. So buying silver might not pay off in the next 6 months but I'd bet anything it'll pay off in the next 6 years.

Silver went up more than 100% over the last year, and the year isn't over Another 100% puts silver into the $150-$200 range. The real squeeze hasn't even started yet.

Telling someone that gold was going to go up back when it was $2000 wasn't fomo, it was wise advice. Telling someone that silver is underpriced due to systemic, provable market manipulation.

The manipulation continues to this day. On Friday, 900 million oz were traded, many paper oz were sold short to hammer the price down by over $4.00.

Eventually the fraudulent paper markets will default, (force majeure is a soft default) and we will get real price discovery.

An essential part of that price discovery will entail the realization that silver production is NOT elastic, and it will take years of high prices to increase production. Eventually in 10-20 years, the production may increase relative to demand to result in a surplus.

I expect to be long out of most silver by that point in time.

>Telling someone that gold was going to go up back when it was $2000 wasn't fomo, it was wise advice
not sure

I've been buying and selling gold since 1975 and when it hit $2k if you told me it would move quickly to $4k I would've called you crazy.

50 years of experience in the gold market and that surprised me. A lot.

Deranged conspiracy theory that resulted in a $920 million dollar fine. Sound like someone is in denial. Let's see if we can get you to the next step of your healing process, anger.

I smell consensus crackers from you both.

Are you the next tier up from IQDelet? He was clearly laughing stock.

The two of you sound just like (((fellow))) silver owners. How many shekels do you get per post?
>>
I always scroll the turbo-normie news headlines for silver. No mention, but now copper is getting headlines.
>>
>>61492193
The only time silver got a headline that I saw is when they called it the Devil's metal. Meanwhile, every ATH for bitcoin was blasted across every outlet.

It's why we have permanent anti-silver shills in every thread.
