I’ve been interesting in further pursuing investments with a focus on receiving dividends as I already have a strong foothold focused on growth thanks to recent times
The options I’ve seen floated around are, building my own portfolio with a mix of high and low yield stocks based on their dividend history / free cash flows
Just purchasing a lower yield ETF like SCHD (underperforming due to lack of Tech currently but has a good history)
Or buying into Covered Call Options
Now, as far as I can tell, a covered call option does provide high yields, but looking at something like SPYI, the dividend growth can fluctuate vs. something like SCHD
Is it simply a matter of your risk tolerance and time horizon regarding what style of dividend stocks you invest in?
Yield vs Growth

For reference, I only started investing my paychecks this year about have ~33,000 in VOO (seeing a 13,5% return on that) and 4,800 in SCHD (Schwab app doesn’t allow partial purchases of ETFs so the remainder of my paychecks went into here cause why not)
I’m a 20-something so I got time just want some info

Getting some mixed signals here lads

Either way I wasn’t really looking for high yield if it was volatile
But I suppose if the total dividends annually > lower yield with stable growth it’s ultimately just better

Also by mixed signals I mean go away cryptoshitters

you have to have good div yield + div yield growth + cheap stock price(Because how are you supposed to stack if a share is 100$+ )
Best option ITUB. Go research and find a better stock you cant.

Well I was more trying to be lazier, sacrificing returns, and not try to find individual stocks to go in on, know when to sell and transfer to a new hot ticket, etc
But either way I suppose I could look into it since it wouldn’t be a majority of my portfolio but just extra cash since I’m focusing on growth primarily anyway

Jepi, jepq, gpix, gpiq, qqqi, etc all good within a tax advantaged account. If in a straight brokerage account be aware the dividends will be taxed at ordinary tax rate and not dividend rate due to the covered call strategy. Have fun.

Excluding the jeps, those other funds are >90% roc and then 60/40 once basis hits zero. Not even remotely close to ordinary rates. Keep giving shit advice though.
