Anyone have any resources on what silver used to be able to buy you back in ancient times more even during British imperialism or Chinese imperialism? Since silver is basically guaranteed to moon I want to get ready to make purchases. I heard last thread that poor people even bartered for goods when their daughters came of age?

I am happy for all the information links... but how many are you going to make on this board. There are already 3 active precious metal threads open.
>>
Stacksisters, as a PSA, instead of lower quality concern trolling and entertaining shilling. This thread appears to be primed for being co-opted. This is a thread for the discussion of precious metals. Praising your favorite WW2 heroes, reading books by your favorite protestant, discussion about the best helicopters to buy, and why you can't get your knob slobbed in 2015+10 should be done over at >>>/pol/

Yes, this time it's different, half of the world believes that genocide is antisemitic, but this is a blue board, and this is a place to encourage people to stack. Keep yourselves in check, and if you must, keep the discussion related to metals in some way.

Adding a note: If anons need "electronic silver," there has been evidence that pslv has been used by other entities to help paper over supply issues. PSLV can be used for speculation, but you should consider segregated storage if you are not just looking to buy and sell.
Consider silver bullion, sd bullion, bullion star, money metals, and swp cayman among others. Dyor. Segregated is not for everyone, but if you have too much on hand, are moving, or want some metal in a jurisdiction that's not your domicile, it may be good option for you.
>What about allocated?
Fractional reserve issue. See what happened to perth mint's allocated a few years ago. Withdrawals became extremely delayed. "Delays" will happen at smaller entities. Then the bigger ones. Then the big one.

Right now silver is just something coin merchants sell, basically.
They were told about bitcoin and stocks by bitcoin and stock merchants, but they believed the source more or less because it was disguised from them. Silver / gold salesmen have been shitting up the radios for decades and people don't really listen to their ads - it's actually caused people to ignore gold and silver, as they think they're being sold something.

And the news doesn't have whole segments on it like it does bitcoin. It would be different if they did, if there was any mainstream attention with big stories saying how important silver is, how we've been in a deficit for years, and how the price just keeps going up we'd be flooded and we'd hit 100 overnight, but instead it's only salesmen selling silver right now.

Elaborate please? I have my core position in physical but have built up hefty PHYS and PSLV positions in tax free retirement/savings accounts.
I remember when Sprott set these up the goal was the opposite of helping paper over supply issues. He wanted to be the anti-SLV and anti-GLD. Store the metal in a vault outside the control of JPM and the Fed, and make the metal redeemable for large enough positions. Is it the last part you're talking about?

Ignoring the environigger / communist slop this was pretty decent, WHERE is there growth?
Like literally everything in my house could have been had for a couple dollars at an estate sale. We're left with basically a handful of things that actually cost and are worth money in society
>Cars
>Houses
>Niche house parts that take labor / can't be had secondhand and DIY'ed in 10 minutes
>Land
Ummmmm, what actually are we striving to get and growing towards? I really have been confused with this for years, because if we're not growing towards actual material goods in our economy what are we growing towards, aesthetics?
Because if that was the goal why did we do the gay shit and the brown people and the ugly people? Wasn't that a bad idea if we were just trying to produce comfort, beauty, and entertainment (instead of physical goods)

Like it just seems like if you're a service-based economy and you no longer manufacture HOW could you be some kind of capitalist-goy? What do I even spend my money on, isn't the goal supposed to be making everyone happy with free time and fun recreation, now that their material goals are largely met?
What is society supposed to look like 50 years from now if we don't count on techbro flying car transport tubes and supertoasters that take a whole factory to make one to justify the price of it (and other ridiculous "tech" nobody actually needs)

Like, if you don't deal in material goods where does the whole "productivity" thing come into play? And we haven't dealt in material goods for decades.
>>61503353
10-20k, yeah.
I personally don't think cars are even efficient / ideal and that roads inside towns should be for golf cart sized vehicles primarily, but whatever. The entire idea you need some "car" that can go 70 on a highway to drive 2 miles to your buddy's house / the bar is ridiculous, retirees in florida have special communities where they just ride golf carts around.

Yes, luckily I already got all my basics covered.
A house, truck, protection, stockpiled food, books, offline media, offline video games, board games, nice-ish kitchen appliances, work tools, precious metals, some jewelry.

My next project it to set up an uncensored offline AI language model that can answer questions using a downloaded Wikipedia.
And if I can spare the money maybe some more back ups of important thing. Maybe some back up clothing, socks etc.. basically all the stuff we saw were important during he rest depression.

Better to buy now. Than later when ever is more expensive and worse quality.

Imagine the new generation of zoomeds and imbeciles when the Internet goes down and they can't get their dopamine fix. They don't own DVDs or pirate mp4s.

I've actually gone as far as downloading Tiktoks so I can later set up my own offline scrolling. Got about 20 hours of curated brain rot so far.

It's funny that you say that, these in the past ten years have turned into the

I can't attest to their rifle ammo, but their 9mm ammo and .45 brass suck ass. FTEs in my Dad's P229, which has always been reliable. Their .45 brass probably 1/10 won't turn in my reloading shell holder like good brass should, and another 1/10 can't even make it in all the way into the holder...
Put a sour taste in my mouth. I only have Federal, Hornady and PMC 5.56 and .223. I get plenty of brass on the ground at the range too, I just haven't reloaded for a rifle in a decade. I save a ton of $ reloading .45.

I looked again and my statement needs to be amended, sprott funds are not used to paper over the issues, but they are a large pool of metal liquidity available for those who need it. That said there are considerable risks involved in PSLV and PHYS for "stacking". if you have no alternative, I think it's better than nothing (slv).
>3rd party risk, brokers stopping trading
>3rd/4th party risk, share (over)lending through brokers
>4th party risk, it's allocated rcm
>Political risk, confiscation/nationalization
if you are in the usa and want to really own PMs, consider entities like the dakota repository(?) I'm really not sure about what would be best here. I don't think about PSLV much differently than a mining stock.

I only use m193 white box and never had a failure through about 500rnds through 2 rifles. Both were rifle length gas systems though so idk how different ones perform. I’ve been collecting it for when I eventually get a station, but that’s probably still a few years away.

>>61504144
>one of its videos was how you need to sell off your generic silver and get into numismatics to avoid forfeiture when the gov comes to get your silver
Firstly, digits.
Secondly, three things are at play:
[1.] Selling your bullion for numismatics means you're net losing value due to premiums and taxes. This is a sly attempt at getting you to reduce your stack.
[2.] Trading COMEX ready silver for 90%? Okay, they want you to do their work for them. They want the pure stuff because it requires less energy to smelt, blah, blah, blah. Fuck that, they can suffer for all I care.
[3.] They're pushing fear. Fear of government, confiscations, and so on. This is subdivided into two more sections:
A.) Fear of government means they have power. "Look at how scary I am!" The government is run by evil people. We have been given power to trample scorpions and snakes. And that's all I see.
B.) Fear responses mean you're not thinking clearly. Fear drain blood from the prefrontal cortex. You're making decisions from base brain, which is reactive and non-subtle. Fear truly is the mind killer. Any time you hear someone pushing for a fear response that should be a red flag.
TL;DR
A.I. slop should be rejected as a tool of those who serve evil.
>>
>>61504187
If it's what I think you're talking about (H.R. 6659), the draft is here.
It does not say anything about confiscation, but that's because it's US Law which is often intentionally vague or open to interpretation. This does have the opportunity to be used to define domestic "hoarders" as risks to the supply chain and national security.

I personally wouldn't sell. I'd pay the interest and all. By the time it's paid off the value of bought silver will be close to if not more than the fiat difference.
This is not financial advice.

I literally maxed out my credit card two weeks ago to buy 200 ounces of silver and I'm already up
>>

because there are scenarios where silver goes down
not likely, but it can hapen
and with credit you then compound the losses

guys I am telling you, the giffen paradox will come to effect soon once normie richfags percieve silver as valuable. just yesterday I talked to a coworker he said if I wanted to gift something to their collection for our boss who's about to retire. I said maybe I put some silver coins in there and he said 'anon what does our boss need silver coins for, he has no use for such'

normies still see silver as junk, don't even get me started on boomers, they're the worst one even stated to me 'I don't know anon, just look at aluminum scrap you used to get some good money at the scrapyard for it but not anymore' lmao which makes the term 'boomer' rocks all the funnier since they don't know shit
>>
>>61502640

there's two categories
one is grug tards, 80-90IQ whites, blue collar honest idiots who'll tell you "Can't eat that stuff, I live fine."
Those you can actually tell it's looking grim out, get some ammo and food stocked if not PMs. They can be convinced with some graphs and a longer sit-down. They'll be honestly thankful when it hits the fan, most of them farm or do something other worthwhile.
Then there's category two: Midwits. R*ddit tier smartypants. They watch the news daily and are "well-informed".
Every single narrative is constructed precisely for these people. Public opinion polls is formed from these people exclusively.
They'll tell you Silver/Gold is just another bubble. They'll tell you it's all russian propaganda "because Putin bought Gold and he's evil you know". If they have it in them to want to "get rich quick" they'll pursue stock experts. For everything they'll look up experts. They cannot fathom that people have more than one dimension: In their mind experts read books about their topic all day every day and only speak the truth. They'd be shattered to find out Cramer is an actor who exists to pump small investor money into the market.
These people are useless. Ignore if you can, if it's family just end the discussion by agreeing. Not worth your time after one try.

I've been listening to Bloomberg radio lately, they given gold and silver a token mention every day but so far no lengthy pieces.

You guys should try listening to AM radio, it's nostalgic and cozy in a way that's hard to articulate. It's sort of reassuring to hear the cadre of boomers with their misplaced confidence in the old system, while knowing that it's going to collapse soon but you're hedged against it. It feels like... like time travel. Like history is a physical place, and you're standing in the middle of it.

Anyone else know this esoteric feel?

The boomer who posted that writes his own posts and then gets AI to rewrite because he got shit on by grammar nazis.

I don't even know if Ed Steer uses a computer, it looks like all his interviews are done via telephone.

Given how retarded (and politically correct) AI can be, it needs to be kept on a very tight leash.

I don't ask AI any questons that I don't already know the approximate answer for. I don't post any AI enhanced content that hasn't passed through my own bullshit filter.

its simple
instead of having excess cash in your bank
just buy silver or gold
silver is more important to buy because thats the metal that used to back the currency based on daily wages
people were paid monthly with gold
daily with silver

>"A house" throughout history
How do you even define this? Like in medieval europe you're not talking about the wattle-and-daubs, you're talking about some building with land.
What "a house" would even mean changes throughout history and in the past with no regulations, running water, or electricity they'd just throw up a house in a couple months with minimal investment.
>>
>>61504488
But when?
>>
>>61504807
I do this at work.
The ramsey guy just told some 57 year old lady she'd become a millionaire in 15 years by just investing 7,500 a year into stonks.
Man, it's like they still think we live in the 1920's or something.

When silver reached the top in the '80s, you could buy one with 500 ounces.
I predict the next top you'll buy one with 40 ounces.

You need more decimal places to be sure of what you have.
