Checked.
People called for ages that China was simply watching, and waiting as major AI and hardware companies became overcooked while they took what was left for cheap. Hardware independence for China is a bigger national security threat than them winning the "AI Race" which is a term not even the most bullish of investors can define.

Nobody else operates like that, and we should fuck them up for doing so. How the fuck is anyone else supposed to compete short of state-led capitalism?

>How the fuck is anyone else supposed to compete short of state-led capitalism?

Have you ever considered that state-led capitalism is actually a good model? And that the west should be adopting something similar? In fact it’s pretty much what the US used to be back in the day when they had a functioning system, the government smashing monopolies and providing funds to burgeoning sectors. The major difference is that they have the cream of crop university graduates enter the party and they rise in the ranks based on performance from small localities up the chain rather than have a 4 yearly personality contest. Their system is simply superior and in my opinion we should adopt most of it but keep the guns and free speech and dump the surveillance state.

I think it’s only beneficial when you’re the only one doing it, otherwise the world veers into mercantilism and zero-sum mindsets. Then you’ll miss the days of “free” trade.

Don’t get me started on U.S. politics, we’d be a lot better off if most people refrained from voting and our leaders had even a modicum of integrity that Chinese officials have. We think in cycles of eight years, tops. The Chinese have plans for 2049 and beyond. I’ve actually had the opportunity to discuss this with U.S. policymakers and they’re thoroughly convinced the market will beat this mindset.
>>
>>61512312
>>61512332
Except the state is playing zero role in how the money gets allocated, the market decides that. In China, they are willing to go deep into debt to create artificially low prices throughout numerous industries. You might think a $15k Chinese EV is really cool, not so much when we become reliant on them and they can hang us by our nutsacks.

I don’t believe anything is “unfair”, I don’t believe in the concept of fairness. But I do see a nation that is using the power of the state to undercut every other country’s market, including yours, even if you’re not American. Just wait until China is your overlord, you’ll think about just how good you had it before.

What’s really cool about a market that is generally considered to be free is that you have the choice of purchasing something, opting not to, or purchasing from a competitor. It’s actually pretty cool. If you Europeans didn’t nuke yourselves with regulations and subhuman biomass from the Middle East and Africa, you could’ve had some excellent domestic choices.

>it's wonderful under american boot!

>If you Europeans didn’t nuke yourselves with regulations and subhuman biomass from the Middle East and Africa, you could’ve had some excellent domestic choices.
For the most part European governments do what Washington tells them to do, or rather US embassy tells them to do, or else there's a regime change. Germany or France might be the only exceptions to this, maybe.

Chinese boot looks positively radiant compared to the Jew boot. At least you get good transport, cheap stuff and the surveillance state is applied equally so niggers get the boot on their neck when they chimp out. Neither would be preferable of course but it is what it is.
>>

Oh, just wait until they have the upper hand.
>no more anything for you until you fulfill our demands
It sometimes happens with the U.S., but it certainly changes. China doesn’t let go. You really want to be under their yoke for a millennium? Be my guest.
>>
>>61512430
China maintained healthy medieval relationships with almost all countries (except for Korea and Vietnam which they had a few chudouts with) for pretty much all of history. You sent them tribute, acknowledged the son of heaven, they sent back gifts exceeding your tribute and then you would trade (depending on if they were doing foreign trade at the time) and do normal nation state interaction stuff.
>>
>>61512389
>Are you purposefully misunderstanding what I’m saying?
I'm being a bit cheeky and trolly on purpose, but I genuinely don't see a difference between American monopolies or Chinese monopolies. I don't have a horse in this race. There doesn't exist any reason for me to prefer one over the other, apart from price to product quality ratio on specific products.

>>just buy their solar panels bro, even though they can shut them all off in an instant, think of how cheap they are
Reminds me of the blackout in Spain after Spanish politicians disobeyed American orders.
>>

But seriously, can you provide 1 benefit to Europe from American rule? "China will be worse" is not really an answer to this question.
>china can turn off solar panels

>they will screw you over

state capitalism is superior. what we have in the jewnited states is not working. there is no accountability or allegiance to the state. american executives subvert the state by pushing critical aspects of the supply chain overseas, outsourcing and abusing domestic workers, shipping entire factories to mexico, and laying to waste everything except for the shareholders. and if it all blows up because of abject retardation or deliberate fraud, they face minimal to no penalties -- and in fact, they might go on to ruin more companies, like that retarded slut marissa meyer.

>subsidize all of their industries, make the prices rock bottom, crush the competition overseas, and vacuum up the profits
Dumping is only a profitable strategy if you eventually raise prices. Yet China never seems to get to the phase of raising prices, even after they've completely taken over a sector. It's almost as if they've succeeded in genuinely reducing production costs.

>Nobody else operates like that
Yes they do. For example: Taiwan's electronics industry.
The ones who don't operate like that tend to be the ones who already have dominant world-leading industries, or who lack the war chest or political discipline to do it. Even indirect things such as infrastructure can be a kind of state subsidy to domestic industry. Tax incentives are rampant across the world. It's just that China is one of the few countries big enough to single-handedly dominate whole industries, not least due to unbeatable economies of scale.

Are you retarded? Patents are national in scope. A British patent is absolutely meaningless in any other country in the world, other than as something to copy. Same with an American patent, a French patent, and even a fucking Ghanian patent.

The "China IP theft" thing is mostly about China engaging in industrial espionage to steal trade secrets, especially about processes.
>>
>>61508888
We had this thread on /pol/ last night (it opened with a typical Zeihan screenshot).

Me: has actually done stuff for TSMC before as an outside contractor.

Zeihan is a cockgobbling retard, but I'm not in the slightest bit worried about China being able to produce 3nm chips any time soon. It doesn't happen just because they made or stole one machine, there is an entire process they have to figure out, and parts of that process are so difficult that even Intel and Samsung haven't caught up to TSMC.

Unless China invades Taiwan or kidnaps TSMC staff, they're going to have to figure out a shitload of stuff to ever get it working, and China is a country that only recently figured out how to make ball-point-pen balls.

I ain't gonna hold my breath.
