Yeah, it's true. Silver's actually so worthless that you'd have to pay someone to take it off your hands. If you ever want to get rid of your useless rocks, I can deal with it for you for a very reasonable fee.

anecdote from canada, but dealer in edmonton was offering 87 CAD, said he'd sell it for 96 CAD, that was last week
