This shows you know nothing about the metals market.
COMEX has been pushing down metals against fiat for almost 50 years now with paper certs that they cant possibly hold the amount of on top of it now being used in an ever increasing industrial capacity, as such, they can no long keep the eyes of the masses off the game and people are noticing. This leads to panic in the industrial sector, then traders, then retail and that is a wall they cant possibly hope to avoid when the bluff gets called like it did in 2017 due to insane growth of solar and chip needs not to mention flight out of fiat.
The game of musical chairs is stopping and I hope you find a seat.

Ask yourself why samsung would rather buy a shutdown mine in mexico for their silver needs rather than just get it from LMBA. They simply dont have the supply they promised.
This kills the crab.

Im not saying you cant make money on tech right now, but calling metals at a generational top after a 50% gain in a year is foolish at best. This current rate isnt even keeping up with back rated inflation since 2019.
If you want tech to succeed, you still need PMs to build the base componates and they are only going to get more complicated and require less and less electrical resistance to keep up with the infinitesimally smaller corrections in electrical resistance needed for Quantum and FPGA circuits.

You can laugh at me now, but im laughing all the way to the bank.

You are uninformed. COMEX and similar organizations manipulate price by changing margin requirements or changing designation from registered to eligible. This can kill rallies. But they are not the entirety of metals market. There are plenty of other companies with vaults and offtake agreements. There's not any massive structural deficit and this is where you /smg/ schizos just keep harping the same shit over and over again.

Can silver breach $100 this run? Sure why not.
Will silver trade around $60 the entirety of the next year? More likely than you may think.

Checked.

But I disagree, the shortage in silver is systemic and the amount of IOUs that he exchanges keep printing will eventually be called. You will see more mega companies buy mines to get the last bit of silver out of them because apparently that will be cheaper than buying it on the open market.
That isnt even considering the US 232 tariff that will be coming up on the 17th.
Ive been looking at this since JPM broke COMEX in 2017 by trying to call in their paper for phys and the price shot up 35% in a day.

Im not saying you shouldn't enter a position on it without caution, but I am saying that the return is there and with less risk than stock though less reward even if traded properly. I am currently all in for Platinum knowing that there will be people in your mindset that will see an RSI of 85 on SLV and sell to move into something they can try to find more alpha on and the plat market is 1% the size of SLV but I will be throwing 50% of those gains in to phys silver.

I remember all the peak oil nonsense of the 2000's and how it played out. But until ASTS or RKLB or SPCX starts mining asteroids, its a solid bet for a low risk payout.

US 232 is the the proposed tariff on critical metals that should go in to effect on 1/17. I mention it because silver is in the EO, this will raise the price on silver.
I would say if you dont need the money for something you think will be better let it ride for a bit longer. I expect a slight 5% to 7% dip post Christmas then another 15% or so gain over January. Miners do look like a good option right now, but its higher risk higher reward ( and potential loss)

I tried playing it too.
You are 3 months too late, you need to get BOIL when people are stocking up on natgas, not when its already in takes ready to be burned. Also its supposed to be one the most mild winters in a decade in the south US.
Secondarily, dont take calls on leveraged ETFs, it only ends poorly.

>>61526804
The plan is to expand it once its in effect as EOs can change in this way but bills that need to pass house/senate can not. I would expect other material to be on there as well. Anything you need to make a missile will be tariffed once the capacity to make it domestically is available. ( uranium, pallidum, etc.)

>>61526811
Good pick, I would go with AEM, or even something like CCJ. If you want the risk you can go with a junior minor like pan silver, but keep your finger on the sell button.

Why are PM schizos pushing USA hyper inflation talk when CPI is around 3? I've seen people say there's industrial demand for silver to explain the price action but gold also hit ATH and that only has some esoteric utility as an electricity conductor. Inflation was way higher a year ago and during COVID printing and inflation became a certainty. What am I missing here? This price action just makes no sense. It must be states buying it up and preparing for a global conflict.

official CPI numbers are heavily manipulated
regardless, do you think the US government is going to suddenly cut spending and/or raise taxes to meaningfully reduce deficit spending? high inflation is in their interest, as it helps them effectively lower their massive debt burden

They just turned on the money printer, the effect on shopping prices will take time. The cpi in a year is now priced in.
Oil is really low which keeps the inflation at bay, but damn, if something happens and oil goes up we're fucked.
Plus, interest rate is relatively low and job market dead, there's no way they can increase it even if inflation is high.

That would be my guess, but better ask chatgtp.

gold/silver are worth whatever people are willing to pay for them, and that means it's not tied to anything. people can be convinced it's worth whatever.

Bros, I finally went back to work after almost a whole month of LOA at my retail hell job due to deviated septum surgery.

I asked around what happened while I was gone and said that a bunch of people quit/laid off and the sales right now are TERRIBLE compared to last year(my store is in top 5 in the USA). We still have an abundance of Christmas shit on clearance sale, all of that would have sold out by mid November last year. Black Friday week was also slow as fuck compared to 2024 even with online orders and delivery shit. Consumers are absolutely tapped out and its the same case with 7 other fucking stores in my district(population is over 500k too).

Here's an idea I don't think is very interesting.

Putin has vowed a response (on live television) to Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian shadow fleet tankers.
The equivalent Russian response would be a blockade of Ukrainian naval exports, almost all of which are grains.

Out of the 4 largest grain traders (ABCD), only A and B are publicly listed. Pic related is A and the stock did some interesting things in 2022 when Ukrainian grain exports were stopped.
Maybe someone wants to look into it.

Its a % game. You only put at risk a small percent on speculative stocks that can pay off big. As you gain more money the same % at risk becomes $100k, then $500k and the % gains are the same, but the total $ gained is huge for the bigger investments. Just keep at it and you will get there.

If you have confidence in a position, you can take call for leverage instead of margin.
You get "ownership" of 100 shares for a fraction of the price with the option to buy. If the price goes up the cost of the contracts goes up and you profit.
Ive been doing this on GLD, SLV PPLT and to a lesser extent CPER.
I started with CRDO and ASTS but wanted something less volatile. If its low and slow gains, you can use calls to magnify those 2-5% gains into 20-50% gains daily.
The downside is that they will eventually expire and go to $0 so its time sensitive and you have to keep an eye on them and actively trade them.

My method I started with was watching RSI and MACD to see if there would be a reversal to the the assumed medium price after a dip, eg: XXX drops from $8 to $3, I expect it go back to $5 in the next two weeks.
I buy a call for $3.50 expiring 2 to 3 months out and wait until its in the money with a stock price of $4.25 or $5. I then sell and usually get a 50% to 125% profit on the contracts themselves and dont care anything about the underlying stock.

Here is a good primer on options:

I tried to find some concise history, but Apparently A LOT of my stock is being borrowed for shorts and I cant find a buy/sell pair close enough to screen shot them, so here is one of my current pplt positions I will sell in januay.
You can also take a put and do the same thing, but I am not that advanced in my technique and only really do calls. I get burned when I short because stocks "only go up"

here is one of my SLV calls from earlier, I rolled it down to a different strike after the drop in early Nov so I could be ITM when I sold. Did well on that one.

>>61527646
Its not like you can snipe my gains, so go for it. I would recommend starting small and going longer on the expiration date then you really want. Trust me, it will save your ass when you have an an unexpected dip.

If you want to get really wild, you can sell a put when you buy a call because you technically "have a right" to the 100 shares while you own the call. DO NOT RECOMEND.

Technically 0DTE have the most ability to profit percentage wise, but you would be better off doing crack to have a stable work/life balance.

There isn't anything faster than options because they offer the highest leverage.
You can find videos on how they work.
Options aren't gambling if you know what you're doing, they are calculated probability plays -- same as holding stocks.
As a rule of thumb, never do below 30 DTE if you are a beginner.

Do you buy OTM or ITM calls, and why. IT seems like it you pay a bit extra for ITM calls you have more room for profit if the price does not increase as much as you predicted.

For ASTS, why not just buy the dip and sell the rip without options, just swing trade it?

I get as close to just above at the money as I can. I am just using it for leverage so Im not looking to add more risk than I need to. You can get more than gain % wise by going out of the money, but then you have to be more correct at the price and the time. I am just riding it up and not trying to actually predict it, but It can be more profitable if you want to go that way.

The idea with ASTA is that if you got ATM calls at as close to the bottom of the dip and expected to go from say, 65 back to 75 and it ends up at 82, you will profit more by starting OTM and then being deep ITM long before the expiration date.
Its a risk/time prospect and I tend to lean more to the least risk while trying to get in with a lesser amount of total capital, so for me ATM or OTM makes more sense then going ITM for more money at the start and technically less risk.

As for as why calls and not just shares is the aspect of leverage. I could afford about 300 shares, or I could buy 30 contracts which is around 3000 shares.

This is something I have been dealing with. I was making about 55k/yr at my IT job. I liked it. small company with lots of freedom and got to work with small companies in a B2B aspect. So I had connections everywhere in town. But I have made more than 20x that just dealing with options and sitting around playing HOI4 all day. The only thing I am really thinking about is starting a business as a "family trading desk" while doing IT consulting, but would the taxes for self employment be more than literally taking a night time position as a janitor for $8 an hour 3 days a week and just counting my gains as income until I reach the cap.

Fuck taxes bro. 30 on 30

Depends where you live but if in the US you can start a business for IT or something, and under your business create checking and of course investing account with a broker and have a company 401k which you get the bus to fund via pay and employer match, and the money you make trading is used to fund the 401k, pay for insurance and other expenses off the top, so you may not really make much of a profit siphoning off most of the money for your 401k which then you get to open a trading account for an trade tax free in that account. See a tax professional. Some types of business you may be able to get 457b account which does not have minimu age requirement for withdraw or also get a Roth with your 401k. Just map it out and see what you can do. If you are making good money trading you want to reduce your taxes as much as possible.

Tomorrow is a good day to start, but start small.
I would actually go with a single 0DTE contract on QQQ just to get your feet wet because watching that many decimal points go from + to - can do bad things to your psyche if you go all in at once.
But once you get a hold of it, take a few small losses and begin to see what the greeks are for, I say take something you are going to buy anyway and take like 5 ATM contracts instead and see where it goes. worse case, it goes to 0, but it will eventually go to 0 and you need to remember that.

>>61528388
The good thing is that the taxes count only until 12/30 so once you end the year, you know what you need if you keep track of your yearly P/L and dont take LEAPS or have long term sales it will ( as far as I remember, I need to refresh myself, but its too late now) that STCG counts towards income, where as LTCG counts at a different rate, but its been a few years since I did tax prep.
and while Im not throwing around 100k per position, I would rather know if selling something early will put me in a 35% income tax bracket or count as simple capital gains at 13.5%. It can make me sell early if that is my only income which can then cause things to spiral if take positions large enough.

>401k which you get the bus to fund via pay and employer match

You are missing that It would be my business. And I would need to take out the account often as I am using options to make the most of my profit, thus I can not take options in a tax deferred account because that assumes that I will hold for 40 some odd years and only sell once I hit 65+.
There are plenty of good reasons to have a 401k or IRA, but im not in the position to have either of them as I am 39 and until about 6 months ago when I started trading I had nothing but some minor savings that were getting eaten into from CC debt, car repair, family emergencies, etc.
Hell, Im a high school drop out and now Im applying to be director of IT for fortune 500 heath care services where I am now because I have met my competition in the real world from doing B2B the last decade and these fuckers are nigger retarded with a paper that says they know "something" about computers.
