>>615300671. Ask questions regularly even if it bothers people2. be on time regularly3. have a decent attitudeunless you're below an IQ of 80, you're an apprentice. You know what apprentices do? They learn from their superiors. If your superior is an asshole change companies or soldier through it. 80% of the job is showing up on time and having a good attitude. They know it's your first day so expect to get hassled, if they're hassling you it's a good thing to their standards. At the end of the day it's a job, the worst mistake you can do is think that you're not capable without actually putting in the work. As long as they see that and you're being hassled by coworkers then you'll fit in.
>>61530067also I directly hinge on the asking questions part as a litmus test for how competent your instructor is. If he hates it when you have questions, find another one that won't. Even though saying this is easier than it sounds in reality. It's an essential shit test that will help you figure out if you're being trained by an idiot versus being trained by a professional.
talk about the weather, a couple of simple statements with coworkers when you see them, that's all you need to do to maintain an illusion of social normalcy. all of the electricians i know in my area are financially stable, married, but, all of them have side hustles as well - private electrical services and/or agricultural production like hay, hogs, or maple syrup.
>>61530081>>61530094I see, this is all very informative. Thanks for the help anon, hopefully i wont fuck this up.
why did you choose electrics if you are complete worthless retard? you should be doing scaffolding like the other criminal scum
>>61530067>while being complete social sperg and having 0 expierience priorTrades are perfect for people like you (and me). I got into commercial hvac close to 15 years ago for this very reason.>how do I not fuck this up?As an apprentice, you have to put in the effort to learn and get involved. There’s no way around that. The faster you can pick up the trade, the sooner you can start running jobs by yourself and the more money you can make. There’s also a lot of potential danger you have to deal with, especially on the commercial side. Working in the trades is very rewarding. You’re only going to get out what you put in though.
>>61530108go back to step number 3. Have a good attitude. Give yourself optimism that you won't fuck it up because you never have done it before. Let yourself make mistakes during learning so you won't make bigger mistakes down the road.
>>61530067show up and show up on time. stay or look busy. ask questions and don't be afraid to say you don't know something or need help. I did all this at my first job working on cars even though I didn't know how to use a wrench and kept the job for about 3 years before I quit
>>61530067>Will job as a tradie me grant me the chance at financial freedom? No, but Bitcoin will. Just put 5-30% of income into it no matter what, each week. Consistency is the key here. Wait until it at least goes up x10 then sell half.
>>61530178>Just put 5-30% of income into it no matter what, each week. Consistency is the key hereShit advice. You guys told me to do this at $125k and now I’m down bigly. >you won’t be rich if you can’t HODLFuck you
my father was an electrician, oil and gas. 2 cars, wife, 3 kids. I tried computer science but wasn't smart enough. Eventually found the trades in my early 20's and haven't been happier. Commercial projects give long hours and allowances, good pay even as a first year
>>61530067think about what you're doing before you touch anything, especially if you're working around "high" voltages.https://youtu.be/6hpE5LYj-CY?si=7mol095uaM3m4Ey9&t=38
>>61530183>>you won’t be rich if you can’t HODL>Fuck you>I'M MAD AT FACTS!!!!that's the easiest way for it, but you need to wait years usually
>>61530067Congratulations op. What a great opportunity you have. Best of luck to you, truly.Be positive Be willingBe intending to learnWork hardBe honestBe easy and calmKeep a level head on your shouldersKnow that you have the capacity to one day surpass all those who are your superiors nowOne acorn seed, contains an entire forest.
Traders are all retards and only respect the law of the jungleWhen you first start walk up to your supervisor and loop out the biggest wettest fart you have ever had, the harder the better, poop yourself if you have to, this establishes dominance and will allow you to show you understand the workplace dynamics of being a tradie
