dollar is falling in value, so metals go "up" somewhat finally.
not nearly as much as Bitcoin the digital gold (from 100$ to 80,000$ in last decade)
>>
>>61534678
Everyone has some sort of blindspot. There were people on /smg/ who bought Palantir at under $10, Nvidia at $100 and Meta at $80 in 2022. I'm pretty sure those investments would have made you a lot more money than your silver did. But they didn't spam the board gloating about their gains from buying big tech. We didn't have 3 Nasdaq generals talking about how everone needs to get into big tech at new ATH. So just calm the fuck down and stop pretending that you are some kind of genius because your shiny rocks finally turned a little bit of profit after bagholding for a decade.
>>
>>61534637
Certain things must come to pass. What appears as global psychosis is actually men running into the wall of destiny at 200mph, their own desires the bait. There is no getting off this train.
>>
>>61534951
Those stocks didn't move because there was a society/economy level event ongoing like occurs with PMs. Central banks don't hoard stocks. You can't hold a stock and exchange it privately. You're comparing apples to oranges. "Shiny rocks" is the refuge of a shill or troll with a chip on their shoulder. PMs are money, stocks valued in fiat are a facsimile. Many of us didn't do this with profit in mind, but survival.

Bitcoin is part of the post-1971 tech inflation bubble
Measuring things in dollars is worthless. The biggest tech companies are openly passing 100s of billions back and forth between each other. The US government is subsidizing it. SpaceX, OpenAI, Anduril, and several other major "deeptech" companies are going public next year so they can dump their bags and run
It's over

What exactly is said economic event though? You might have had a point if gold and silver were up and everything else was in free fall, but Inflation numbers are down, the stock market is doing very well, nearly every sector in the S&P500 is at or close to ATH, the GDP is growing. You doomsday cultists are getting more and more retarded by the day. Completely decoupled from reality.
The USD also didn't fall in value due to some unforeseen consequences or because nobody trusts in fiat currency anymore. It fell because that's what the Trump administration deliberately wanted to do in the first place, there are a lot of trade advantages that can come from devaluing ones currency to a certain extend, why do you think China has been doing it for so long?
But none of this matters, retards like you will never admit they were wrong and in the short term you will get so much confirmation bias that you will be convinced that you were right even if 10 years from now you're still holding the generational top in silver and gold.

>Today, Dutch trading specialist Karel Mercx posted the following commentary where the opposite (multiply by - 1) of the silver swap rate minus US interest rates can be used as a proxy for the implied silver lease rate to determine physical shortage in the London silver market.:
"The 1-year silver swap minus the US interest rate is now -7.18%.
That distortion explains why the silver rally is not over.
Only at the red line do supply and demand normalize."

This party is just getting started.

>tldr: On 1 July 2025 the bank for international settlements essentially changed banking regulations which now makes it more expensive/less profitable for banks to short paper gold/silver in the precious metals markets, and now banks are essentially (((penalized))) for trading gold or silver that they don’t physically have custody of.

>They can skirt this penalty by holding physical gold. The intent is to make banks less risky/more financially resilient in order to avoid another 2008 style recession so now major banks are accumulating it right as all of the AI companies and green energy companies are burning through silver at the height of a 5+ year metals deficit.

>Ultimately this won’t work because the metals market is very fucked, because for decades banks would buy gold, lease it to another bank, who would then lease that to another bank and so on and so on like a cheap hooker.

>There are unironically situations right now where there are bars of gold sitting in vaults that technically have multiple owners, so now everyone is playing musical chairs and scrambling to get their metal back before the other guys, but there literally just isn’t enough of it above ground to settle everyone’s books.

>99.99% of the trade activity/volume on the comex represent metal that literally doesn’t exist and likely never will.

If you do banking with JP Morgan I would strongly urge you seek another provider if you don’t want to get robbed. Things are gonna get messy.

Extremely bullish for physical silver you have in your possession. Hang onto it, I wouldn’t sell anything even at these “elevated” prices (it’s not elevated, this is just price discovery).

If you’re trading (((silver))) on an exchange like the COMEX and you have a notional claim on silver then you probably won’t be able to withdraw it after March, I think their terms/conditions allow them to cash settle you out if they run out of inventory, but imo that’s a risky gamble that I personally wouldn’t take.

But you're telling people to get into silver when it is at a historic all time high, having made more gains in 1 year than in the last 10 years combined. What you are doing right now wouldn't be like me telling you 3 years ago to invest into Palantir, but me telling you to fomo into Palantir now that it has a P/E ratio of 300+.

If anyone tells you to fomo into an asset that sits at ATH and has had a massive melt up in the last weeks, you really shouldn't thank them, because it's not sound financial advice, it is pure emotional fomo investing. Sometimes they'd be right, but it's never worth the risk to chase after a train that already left the station, there are so many opportunities in the market every year, missing out on silver maybe doing another 2x is the least of my worries.

What at least one person in every silver thread is trying to tell you is there are multiple fundamental reasons why physical silver supply cannot and will not meet demand as early as Q1 2026 and the price which was brutally suppressed for decades has only just begun to squeeze to the upside.

You need to imagine shitcoin price action on a astronomical scale to understand what's happening.
>>
>>61543157
>ATH
Ai was also at an ATH 3 years ago. In 2020 TSLA was valued at 34 dollars and has done a 10x since then.
You don't understand what you're talking about and you don't understand investing, ATH's don't matter, what matters is what happens after the "all-time-high."

It has never mattered in the past, look at any stock and there will be an all time high, and then it will massively increase after that. Look at any commodity and the same is true.

You ever check out a historical chart of precious metals? Here’s the one for gold. Adjusted for inflation, if you bought the gold top in 1980 (similar to the gold and silver top now), you would’ve been bagholding for the next ATH for 32 years. You have no idea what you’re doing. This could all end tomorrow. I’m not saying don’t go for it, but I personally would not gamble with bagholding a metal for several decades.

From 2012 to 2024, gold also flatlined. You have no idea what you’re actually getting yourself into, and you’re going to be made into a bagholder.
>>
>>61544708
>gold flatlined
Instead of citing the chart, cite the reasons behind the chart. Why did gold flatline? "THING never made money before why would that change" could be applied to any asset that was ever undervalued. Do you have an actual hypothesis?

>>
>>61544708
>From 2012 to 2024 gold also flatlined
Yes, because from 2000 to 2011 it was the dominant investment class and beat the stock market every year by a healthy margin, so after 11 years of growth it burnt itself out and people reinvested in the stock market.
The chart in case anyone's interested

>>
>>61544791
This. WHAT bag? It stays the same price or like 10% lower and now I have all of this liquid money sitting around that I can use for whatever I want? What's the loss here? It's not some shitcoin that goes to zero. It's not some stock that goes to 20% due to a merger or acquisition or whatever.
>>
>>61544708
And one more for those who actually want to know about this stuff and not react emotionally, if you don't count the hunt brother's squeeze as an ATH because it wasn't a natural market condition - it was just a couple guys buying it all up and deliberately manipulating the price - gold was at an ATH in 2008. It did a 3x from 2000 after outperforming the stock market for 8 years. This was the ATH if you don't count the hunt brothers.
From this point gold doubled in a 3 year period, then you were left with about 6 months to sell and reinvest in a market that was recovering.

So basically if you just bought gold that decade you would have done significantly better than any other investment, and then you were given an entire half year to get into the market that started growing again. PM's once again win.
>>
>>61534632
The interns and algorithms are running the trading now and they're instructed to buy buy buy.
Wait until the 2nd of Jan when the big players return to work. the price may drop, it may moon; nobody really knows because we've never been here before where Inventory is scarce and nobody is selling.

tl;dr hold on to your bootstraps
>>
>>61544791
It makes me laugh every time.

I'm in my mid 30’s I plan on giving my stack to my kids and grandkids. I don’t really care about price volatility for timelines of under 20-50 years. I’m goin to spend the same amount on gold and silver every month like I have been doing for the past decade because gold and silver will outlast the current government, monetary system, and civilization.

The whole point of buying this stuff is so that I can permanently remove it from the economy. I don’t give a shit about the notional dollar value because I don’t want dollars that aren’t made out of go.d or silver. I don’t give a shit about “bagholding” because it’s not for sale and it never will be. That’s not the point, we’re not even playing the same game.

Indeed on the seed oils. I used to burn like hell in summer, and my "tan" would be this weird orange hue rather than bronze. Stopped eating seed oils 5 years ago after discovering the work of Ray Peat. I never burn anymore, and my tan color is actually normal and not orange. Family still thinks it's ridiculous that I abstain from eating seed oils, mocking that "sure, all the health organizations are wrong".

Yes. Yes they are.

The circus is boring and the bread is stale. Federal minimum wage was 1oz silver per hour in 1965, @ $1.30/oz. Who do you know making $150k a year flipping burgers?

Tulip Mania level is when a single ounce silver is worth a skilled workers' yearly wage. Silver Mania level is when silver is worth more than gold. How much can all those mines produce and how quickly can they ramp up, is the question.
