how do i make (not lose) money trading perps?
>>61543425just dont leverage duh? use perps for the low fees if you dont plan to have positions open for more than a couple of weeks.
>>61543425part 1it is incredibly hard:you spend years doing the wrong things to finally understand what the right thing is.orsomeone tells you exactly what to do and you follow religiously what it is they told you. (won't work if it is based on any measure of intuition through experience because you lack it)andit is pretty hard because you have to keep all the demons at bay EVEN IF you're profitable.basically lvl 99 discipline is required.there will always be a measure of uncertainty (because thats what you make money off of, namely risk, remove risk and you also remove profits.)also, no sane profitable trader will tell you anything about what they do because competition is insane and my life depends on it.picrelated as the name implies are my q4 returns.bitcoin is down 26% i'm up 30%.if you can lose money, then you can also win money. trading is not magic, it just takes a hell of a lot of time and money before you even start to be break even from one month to another.to get here it took me a total of 8 fucking years.when i started, i thought i would be profitable in a month. that obviously never happened and i had to wait another 6 years before i started to break even.patience is also key because half of the time, i'm not even trading and simply waiting for the right moment to start trading. and when i say start trading i dont mean putting on one or two trades. i'm talking about putting on 100+ trades over the span of a month.even if i told you exactly what i do, you'd probably not be able to handle the strategy because the leverage ranges from 3x to 8x depending on my living expenses and the lack of your experience would fuck you up definitely.to save you from losing your mind, i can not stress enough the importance of patience and to wait for the right setup so that the chance of you regretting trades and having to get out is kept at a minimum.
>>61543425part 2:i'm so paranoid that i can not even show you the day-to-day returns in fear of someone extrapolating my strategy based on that. that should signal to you how much i've been traumatized in the past and how much i keep everything secret to people on the internet.QRD: its possible but i won't tell you how. sorry to disappoint you, hopefully what i said can at least align your expectations a bit better and based on the opinion of people i know, they probably consider me to be above average intelligence and it still took me 6 years to start breaking even month-to-month.and there is no /biz/ "frog comraderie" or anything like that because this business is insanely competitive. pretty much anything you see on /biz/ which talks about day trading or even swing trading is either lies or nothing of value or maybe some guy who has given up and tells you that its impossible.the only people i share any details with are family and friends.good luck on your journey!
>>61547300PS.and no the daily returns are not a straight line up.i have rough weeks all the time. but those rought weeks lose me less than what i make during the good weeks.you learn how to limit losses after a while but you never eliminate them.and its always a bit stressful and you never know what happens tomorrow.
