What kind of strategies do you use to budget your groceries?
>>61547853Don't even look at the price tag or receipt. Just swipe my card. It's good being rich.
Whatever provides me with the most protein and fiber (I’m bulking)
>>61547853>i buy spaghetti>i buy bulk of the cheapest / probably toughest roasts etc>i cook spaghetti in just enough water to cover & copious salt, drain so that just a little water is left, melt salted butter into it>i cook cheap ass beef in instant pot for 1.5hours>repeatIf you're autistic enough buttered spaghetti and plastic fork tender roast is basically king shit.I keep the 12 boxes of maruchan ramen and a jar of Tostitos cheese sauce on hand if I'm working a lot of overtimeAlso drink milkAnd do a 36 hour "fast" every other week.
>>61547853i've never budgeted in my life
i use to hang out on /fit/ quite a lot so i've learnt to live on single ingredient mealsoatsbrown riceeggschickenbeef mince or economy cutbroccolicoffeemixed veggies
>>61547853i steal them from work
>>61547926This.>chicken breast>raw milk>steak sometimes (not lately, too expensive and not fitting my macros)>cookies (guilty pleasure)>energy drinks (absolutely necessary)And then Chipotle, Wingstop, Five Guys in descending frequency order. It's not really a strategy or a budget. But I'm autisticly price and value sensitive since I was starving as a child and that shit activates genes that never turn off. I'm like a great depression kid because my parents were cheap bastards. If I ever get a wife the budget strategy is just going to be to deny her a credit card and give her a cash allowance weekly for food, and she has to prepare it every night. It can be her game.
>>61547853I've limited my grocery purchases to basically two regular items, walnuts and carrots. I them optimise for the cheapest supply of those two items. Of course, I sometime need other shit like toothpaste, washing liquid and that sort of thing, and I've figured out what the best options are. Aside from the walnuts and carrots, I also eat meal replacement and protein powders, but I buy those separately. I also buy mineral supplements, creatine, etc. to ensure my minerals and vitamins are good.
>Rice or lentils>Frozen veg>Some sort of meat >Some sort of sauceCooked in bulk in the instant pot on Sunday, stored in tubs to eat throughout the week.Cost me very little, just rotate the type of meat, sauce, or staple to not get bored.
