What does /biz/ think about Altria(MO)? Is it a good long term dividend hold?
>>61552786fuck quarterly dividends. get with the times boomers. go after monthly or weekly divs.
>>61552804I have self discipline to put cash aside for the following two months, its okay. I am much more concerned about the long term prospects of tobacco in the US
>>61552786absolute ridiculous compounder. best performing stock since the sp500 started in 1957 see stocks for the long run
>>61552786This an BTI did really well for me, bought during lows last year. I did sell them both earlier in the year though. Pretty sure MO has never cut dividend?
they are gonna moon when they release the nicotine coated condoms and boofable zyns
>>61553180Well these cocksuckers strong armed the FDA into intercepting international tobacco shipments for personal use (because Altrashia pouches can't compete with Swedish Snus), and outlets like nasal snuff and premium pipe/cigar tobaccos can see massive regulations as well. These fuckers will ruin tobacco before they finally take the ball and go home.
>>61552786It's a good short term dividend hold. I've got several thousand shares that I've been holding for a few decades. But none of their newer products have really done much. They're still leaning on their traditional tobacco products, but unit sales are declining and while they're currently maintaining profitability by raising prices, that can't go on forever though it can probably go on another decade or so.
>>61553243>Pretty sure MO has never cut dividend? Not that I know of. Price and thus dividend yield has gone up and down over the years, but they're as aristocratic as a dividend aristocrat gets.
>Pretty much limited to the US>Americans smoke less and less as time passes>Terrible at acquisitions>High pay-out ratioStill a hold, but it's not some foolproof stock.
>>61552786i started smoking cigs again so yeah buy it i guess
>>61554148>several thousand sharesscreenshot or larp
