Imagine seeing this and not selling. It’s reminds me of all the WSB sissies that put all their money on beyond meat, it actually goes up 1000% overnight and instead of cashing out they autistically hold for days after and talk about diamond hands because they think they can keep the hype train going to the moon like GME

the entire point of silver isn’t number go up dopamine but what happens when trust goes down, not price, so yeah bagholders don’t learn, but neither do people who think ceilings are permanent in a system that keeps changing the rules.

it doesn't matter how good your thesis sounds. when a chart it's parabolic, it always crashes.
>>
>>61554448
Everything has been going up, stocks, houses, groceries, rent, insurance, you name it, but suddenly when you say silver or gold people act shocked like this is the one thing that’s not allowed to move, which already tells you who’s thinking straight and who’s coping, and with silver it’s even more obvious because the pressure is coming from every direction at once, you’ve got long time stackers who never left, you’ve got entire countries like china quietly accumulating, and now you’re about to get the normies waking up late saying “wait, why does everything cost double and my dollars buy nothing,” and when that lightbulb goes on they don’t care about charts or theories, they just buy whatever ounces they can get their hands on, and that’s the key difference, this isn’t crypto where you can spin up infinite tokens, fork it, wrap it, rehypothecate it, and pretend scarcity still means something, this is physical, limited, takes energy and time to pull out of the ground, and people are visibly fed up with the dollar losing value in real time, so of course they’re going to start asking for precious metals, not because it’s trendy, but because it’s the most basic human response to watching money stop working.
>>
>>61554512
the market is forward looking, everything crashes after parabolic moves
>>
>>61554448
I've seen a parabolic chart consolidate at the higher range. Happens often
>>
>>61554521
What silver is doing right now isn’t a parabolic move,, that’s the mistake people are making, they’re applying bubble logic to something that hasn’t even done the bubble part yet. A parabolic move is fast, emotional, euphoric, vertical, everyone bragging, everyone convinced they’re geniuses; silver is doing the opposite, it’s slow, frustrating, boring, grinding higher while people keep saying “it’s dead” every step of the way, and that’s exactly how you know it’s not finished, same shit with people saying AI is a bubble, the more you keep fuckign say that the more its not true, just like the internet, I remember when my uncle was telling me in the early 90s that teh internet was just a fad and things will go back to normal, what happened there? we are forward looking into reality, not into fantasies, and the reality right now is currency dilution, rising costs, geopolitical stress, industrial demand, and people quietly losing faith in the dollar. Silver hasn’t gone vertical, hasn’t gone mainstream, hasn’t gone euphoric, hasn’t even been loved by many, most people still mock it, which means it hasn’t pulled future gains into the present, it’s still repricing slowly to a world that changed underneath it. Parabolic crashes happen after excess, silver hasn’t had excess, it’s had neglect, and suppression, nand disbelief. Things don’t crash before they’re crowded, they crash after everyone agrees. Right now, nobody agrees, and that’s the tell.

Copper can replace most electrical uses of silver...it just makes bulkier circuits. Silver is mostly used to keep the size down so products will be more competitive on the markets.

because these people aren't investors, they are just gamblers.
an investor has a clear strategy what he wants to achieve, at which point he'll sell, how much he'll sell, if there are indicators that will make them buy more, and so on.
it's what you need if you want to avoid the trap of emotional decisions, where you buy more because the FOMO is kicking in, despite the price already being unreasonable high, or where you sell some shit you were intending to hold for 10 years but it's down by 10% in just two days and it stresses you out.
with emotional decisions, it's just gambling where you are motivated by greed and fear rather than sensible decisions.
>>
>>61553615
>>every production that uses silver stops
you know what will happen then?
they use the alternative metals like copper and just make shit a bit bulkier again.
no one is going to buy your silver coins at $200/oz, those technologies aren't mandatory.
>>
>>61560668
it's not a bad idea to have PMs as an insurance against a currency collapse.
countries can decide that their old currency is now no longer valid and you have to exchange it for a new one and fuck you in the ass in the process (see Germany switching from the DM to the EUR and people massively losing purchasing power instantly for example), but your silver can be exchanged into whatever currency you want really.

You probably don't have a relevant amount anyway. How much gains did you make, 4k, 5k? Anything below at least a mid range five figures won't really have much of an impact on your life (seeing how you had disposable money you could speculate with), so might as well just keep it as insurance and not care much about the current blip on the charts.
Whatever the final price will be, it will not turn you into a millionaire if you weren't already six figures deep into the investment. Specifically because it has industrial uses.
If the price rises to a point where it causes serious harm to the industry, the government will start intervening. There is no timeline in which silver goes to x10000 and everyone who bought coins at $20 can live like a king for generations to come.

I'll be honest, im a stacker thats fudding silver on /biz/ right now because I hate the obnoxious behaviour my fellow stackers have been exhibiting lately.
You are correct, in a normal situation a parabolic pump usually results in a retrace.
But this situation with silver is not a "bubble" where it's overvalued and driven by fomo, its a commodity supply shock. Theres currently more people trying to get their hands on silver than there is silver available.
Theres a 100:1 or higher ratio of paper to physical.
In order to meet demand, the price must rise until it meets equilibrium and people are willing to sell their silver.
Silver has been ignored for a long time, and now the big investors are caught with their pants down.
I guess the LBMA / comex are showing signs of insolvency, they overestimated the availability of physical silver since theres a lot of different claims all on the same stacks.

But I thought precious metals were supposed to be safe and boring
>>
>>61565177
Precious metals are a barometer. They are a gauge of perception and trust in government and the financial system. When people lose trust in their government or in their currency they buy precious metals. So when the price pump people tend to ask "why?" So naturally central banks and governments have an incentive to keep the prices of precious metals down. Alan Greenspan once testified in front of Congress saying he looks to the price of gold, if it's too high he set rates too low, if gold is too low he set rates too high.
The price of precious metals has been rigged by banks for decades. By doing so they make fiat currency look good which helps keep interest rates low. Those pumps and dumps are the price breaking free from the banker's shorts and the banks ultimately changing the rules or colluding to tamp the price back down. In 1980 they changed margin requirements and liquidated the largest silver long positions (Hunt Brothers). In 2011 we have chat logs, evidence from criminal trials, of bankers colluding in chat rooms to simultaneously dump contracts on the market to crash the price.
The question then is will it happen again? The difference this time is China. The Chinese market is gaining pricing power and sucking the remaining physical metal out of the rigged Western markets.
