It was a pump and dump. Same thing happened in the 80s. You should have known when idiots started spouting the GME shit of "synthetic shares" and "short sellers".

When it's marketcap surpassed Nvidia that was your sell signal. When people came out of the woodworks with pics of their hand-me-down silverware asking how much they could get. That was your sell signal. When coin shops stopped buying junk silver and were paying $9 under spot because refineries were over capacity and not buying. That was your sell signal.

I'm saying this as someone who got in at $18 on average and sold at $76.

The spiritual ugliness of PM freaks is on full display right now. They bought their shiny rocks and underperformed every other asset for decades. Now that they're finally getting an itty bitty pity pump, look how their behavior changes. They should be happy and celebrating in /pmg/. Instead they are lashing out at the rest of the board, spamming, flooding, raiding, sliding, trying to auschwitz everyone else into their own little internment camp of a ponzi scheme. And that's them being HAPPY. That's them on a good day. That's how ugly they are on the inside. Imagine how mean they'll get when metals eventually meaningfully retrace. It honestly might make sense to ban discussion of PMs from /biz/, not because they aren't business and finance related but because the financial incels have clearly shown that they have no desire to live harmoniously with the rest of us or even make a profit. They can go make a general on /bant/ to shill their joke of an investment and live there alongside the furry ai and futa threads.

>You aren't becoming rich, you just save your money.
true to a sense. I am becoming comparatively rich because so few people are stacking. They stand to loose everything. Their (((investments))), their homes, their lives if things get bad enough. I see the true wealth being made by those who have not only stacked, but have or are preparing to live incredibly lean. Self sufficient on water and food, own at least a couple acres far from major population centers, armed and able to defend themselves. People so prepared can weather the collapse of fiat without having to dip too far into their stack to survive, if they have to sell at all. Instead they can use their stack to acquire tangible assets that will nearly guarantee generational wealth. Mostly being land.
This is how I see it anyway, and I'm preparing accordingly.
>>
I don’t see why anyone would want to keep money on COMEX after they run out so I imagine the price would tank since technically nothing is actually being sold anymore.
>>
Just a question, how recyclable is silver?
>>

They could, but the blow back from so blatantly and obviously jewing the system has the potential to be.....kinetic. Thats why they have been pulling out all the stops to keep the open secret regarding COMEX reserves from being completely exposed.
>>61560345
in the vast majority of uses? Its not.
>>61560338
The opposite would happen. COMEX isnt just a warehouse for retailers, its supposedly a supply hub for industrial demand. So if the COMEX empties and industrial demand for silver is still there, which it 100% will be, then the price skyrockets. Manufacturers will pay obscene prices for physical because the overall input cost for electronics and the like is so low to the overall input cost it is way cheaper for them to fork up the massive silver cost rather than shutting down their production lines. In the long run this cant continue since there is only so much silver above ground. If industrial demand collapses, then modern civilization is not too far behind.
>>
>>61560345
Idk on a gradient of recyclability but I know that there are silver recycling operations from

high grade scrap: (jewelry, and leftover material from machined parts

Industrial scrap: from recycled electronics

Photographic waste: from camera and x ray film

Industrial scrap makes up the largest share of recycled material and they produce about 150~190 million ounces a year from this.

Recycling has increased in recent times due to higher silver price, previously it wasn’t as profitable to do this and recycling offsets the global deficit a bit but it’s only really a bandaid. I imagine it will increase as prices rise.

Idk what people mean when they say tamp. The CME literally just rose the level of margin required to participate in the market so small “over leveraged” players were automatically shaken out.

They were in good standing until CME changed the margin requirements, and the people that weren’t had to sell parts of their positions to margin cover. The only thing this did was give China some “cheap” silver for maybe a few days.

It’s 89 in Shanghai. That’s the real market. Ffs. The CME will follow eventually where the physical demand goes. Or it goes away.

The two main global silver pricing markets are decoupling. Watch them. The arbitrage is no longer closing. Because China isn’t sending silver. And very soon the west will do the same.
>>
>>61560100

I think the first breaker limit is a 2 minute cooldown

To explain it more basically. We will know for sure. It’s time for the squeeze crisis. When the CME says the price of silver is crashing!

And all the crypto tards are screaming at us. But in Shanghai it’s soaring. And if you actually try to source it. NOBODY is selling at the CME price. It’s at the Shanghai spot. Where the real demand and price discovery is happening.

The price at the CME will be crashing because they are trying to find bag holders for the Paper!

Yeah it didn’t impact Shanghai because they’re not part of the CME group. Since western prices are well below Shanghai you’ll probably see a lot of physical arbitrage over to China within the next few days (it takes time to physically move the bars onto a plane and then into the country.

This is what people mean when they talk about China slurping.

No you won’t see arbitrage anymore. If they send their metal to China. They do t have export licenses. And their capital as Yuan will be stuck in China due to capital controls.

The physical Shanghai and power CME are Divorcing. It’s happening. Watch the gap not closing. It’s never not closed. All trust between the major exchanges is breaking in realtime.

We have to understand. If you look only at CME now you’re gonna get shaken out. Check Shanghai aswell. The CME has to crash the paper value for the real thing to happen. You’d have to be some fucking idiot to sell your silver because someone says I have a piece of paper I’m selling for nothing.

And you have proof the largest physical market in the world in China is soaring. Watch both now.

We WANT the CME to say silver is crashing. And China say it’s soaring. That’s the blastoff signal.

I don’t know of a practical way to determine that or not. >No you won’t see arbitrage anymore. If they send their metal to China. They do t have export licenses. And their capital as Yuan will be stuck in China due to capital controls.

90~95% of the metal going to china is immediately getting melted down to go into industrial manufacturing. Investment only makes up about 5~8% of the silver market there. It's not really seen as a speculative asset there.

Industrial manufacturers are buying silver from the West and flying it east because lead times for supply are lengthy, and this is reflected by the backwardation in the Shanghai silver futures. people are willing to pay more money upfront now because otherwise their businesses can't build anything until more domestic supply becomes available.

China's strategic reserves of silver are also at historic lows, I think they're estimated to run out by march/April, so they're going to have to import silver whether they want to or not. because the alternative basically just means shutting down assembly lines for months.

So when silver gets sent to china it's probably never coming back out, at least not as an investment grade vehicle. The export bans are essentially China trying to starve non-chinese solar panel/EV/electronics manufacturers of material.

Once they are net long, the price will rip like the coming if Jesus.

But it happened already yesterday, before the dump
>>

was thinking about how to shit out more fiat if we keep dumping. I might get a loan against my 100oz bar so I can order more silver before we rocket up to 120
>>
>>61560980
So then it will correct and physical will skyrocket again?

I might have to look into doing the same. Not sure how a secured loan works with bullion. I'd assume so third party holds it.

If you go that route can you report back about how the process works? I don’t know anyone who has actually borrowed against their metals before. I have only read that it’s possible but I don’t know if the juice is worth the squeeze. AFAIK it doesn’t incur capital gains tax.
>>
>>61561035
from quick googling this morning, yes a third party holds it. So there is definitely risk. It would hurt like a mother fucker to loose my big boy bar due to (((trickery))), but it wouldnt ruin me either. I could easily use it to slurp another 50 oz I otherwise wouldnt be able to afford.

what would be things to look out for to indicate that they have covered their ass? I'm not too market savvy, I just buy bullion and let it sit in my closet.

The gold dump is real, silver is just trying to keep its current ratio with gold. Platinum rip. They are trying to revalue USD and their fiat, that shit went too far. For some time it might be succesful but not in long term eventually.
