China is the only nation still investing in mega projects, in major infrastructural improvements for its citizens. And the only nation with the practical engineering experience to execute them. It's honestly tragic how the west has totally lost it's industrial capacity, we can barely afford to plan projects, let alone the talent pool to construct them. What's the point?

China is a cargo cult. The British founded the modern Anglo socioeconomic tradition. America inherited it and formed an echo of that tradition, albeit weaker. China then monkeyed it without understanding it on any fundamental basis. It's like a game of telephone, the end result only barely mirrors the original founding basis, and doesn't have a ton of staying power. China relies on America to lead the way and give it ideas and we are all out of them now.
