I am quite smart. I used to think I was very smarter than average so I bet on stocks. I put everything into AI stocks when no one knew about AI. When ChatGPT came out I sold them because I thought well the rest is priced in. I moved that into another industry. Now the same thing is happening.Overall I barely made money not because I was wrong, but because the average investor is a retard. They are just wrong in their assumptions. If I wait long enough, I am right. But long enough is years. Last year I started a business and I've made more money than I ever made in stocks. Why? Because I don't depend on anyone. I have some business ideas that I think are decent but I live in a bad city that has been slow motion collapsing for probably 30 years, most small businesses have been ran out of town and all we have is dollar stores, fast food, and walmart. I have mid 6 figure savings and all my family and friends are here so I don't find starting a business enough of a reason to move away.
