What kinda stuff would recommend. Anything is helpful. Just trying to secure my future.
Cut all discretionary spending. Don’t spend one single dollar you don’t have to. Don’t go to the movies, wait to pirate it on home release. Live like a monk. Every time you save a dollar imagine a shiny green +1 symbol flashing across your vision. You need to build this kind of relationship with money. You have to treasure it. Thinking about your money should be like thinking about a woman you have a crush on. Make love to your money. Save your money. Treasure it.
>>61568191don't spend money you don't have
>>61568191Have a million USD
>>61568198Already have been on top of that. Have a small ROTH IRA going but hard to determine what is boomer slop and what is a more realistic investment strategy for this day in age
>>61568198That's called treating yourself like shit
Budget. Reduce Spend. Invest. Use your resources. Take your yearly bank statements, credit card statements, etc.. Find out exactly what you're spending and exactly what you're earning. You might be surprised at the stupid shit you're spending money on or how much small things add up to.Stop spending money on stupid shit like subscriptions. I don't think there exists subscriptions that are necessary. There are always lower cost "free" alternatives which shouldn't impact your QoL once setup. Allocate every dollar you have to a purpose. If you're a brainlet, just invest in SPY.Learn about taxes. Always invest in accounts that have the largest tax benefits first (e.g TFSA, or Roth IRA) and fallthrough from there. Learn about government programs or benefits that can give you money or help expense purposes. Use every resource you're entitled to. Learn about credit card churning (and risks involved). If done well, it can net you a bunch of "free" stuff. You must be responsible here.
>>61568363No it’s just called not wasting money. It means getting into the mindset where saving money gives you more pleasure than spending it. You are treating yourself with great respect when you do this, not “like shit.”
Get a well paying job that allows you to save at least 2k a month
>>61568198>Don’t go to the moviesNobody has gone to the movies since the 90’s
>>61568191Don't be afraid to love...
>>61568191Torrent all your games, media, software, books. Home cook your meals. Buy your clothes from thrift stores. Get into hobbies that don't require frequent purchases (jogging, hiking, musical instrument). Stock up on essentials as they go on sale. If you live in a black-free area, take advantage of public transportation. After you pay your bills, invest as much as you can so you're forced to budget the remainder smartly.
>>61568198>don't live, survive>become the embodiment of greed>die with a slightly higher number of debt notes than is standard
>>61568693Another thing I just remembered, take advantage of free stuff on websites like Craigslist. People are giving away TV's, furniture, stuff like that all the time. You can find beautiful antique furniture that is way higher quality than the flimsy particle board crap that passes for furniture these days.

>>61568191Unironically r/personalfinance has better information about this than 99% of advice you will get here. Its pretty simple to have a good bedrock for finances:>If you have high interest debt pay it down agressively>if you dont build a cash emergency fund of 3-6 months of living expenses>keep it to 1 credit card max if you dont know what you are doing>always pay the statement balance and dont ever let it accumulate interest>after filled cash emergency fund you can start investing >stick to something stupidly easy like an index fund (VTSAX, VTWAX, FZROX whatever. Just needs to be a total market index fund)>this is the hard part with investments, DONT PANIC SELL, during down years keep adding and ignore the marketIf you do those things youll be ahead of like 98% of everyone.

>>61570961sar, first day in america. pls gib 5million rupee loan. we own a 7/11
>>61570942>>stick to something stupidly easy like an index fundSomeday this will blow up in peoples faces. Probably as demographics ponzi finally crashes and burns.
>>61570992If indexes fail that means the whole market is failing and then it doesnt matter anymore
>>61571004thats when you can buy at a discountad infinitum
>>61571025so stay in cash until a crash? seems you'd be missing out on all the gains until then
Just get a better job. Done. No reasonable investment will make up the gap in wages between a doctor and a burger flipper.
>>615681911) Get in shape. Spend money on a cheap gym membership. Go everyday (doesn't cost more), make your own food (saves ordering out $), women like you more (spend less impressing them). It works and will benefit your life greatly.2) Make your life a 3 ring financial circus: 1) job to pay bills, 2) side hustle to bring in more, 3) learn to invest as you will learn to be able to control outcomes with relying on ANYONE else3) As Richard Pryor said about his cocaine addiction in the 1980s, "get high off your interest." Don't touch the principal.

>>61568198lmao I used to be like this. I'm very financially secure now but I'm still not sure if it was worth it. I probably could've been just as successful as I am now without being such a stingy kike for most of the past decade.
