I had an idea. You know how dating apps suck now? They've all been absorbed under one company, Match group, who has a monopoly on dating apps and continues to gradually remove free features from them to put them behind paywalls.
Now if you think about it, dating apps are fundamentally incompatible with capitalism. Nobody wants to pay money to find love. "Super likes", "boosts", all this cringey shit you have to pay for - it's dehumanizing and unnatural.
So what if there was an open source dating app that never charged you for anything? Like the Linux of dating apps.
How would it make money you ask? The same way Wikipedia stays afloat. It asks for donations, all while offering a useful service for free. People might be more inclined to donate to an app that helped them get dates after the fact, rather than being forced to pay for features up front. Also, by keeping the app very simple and straightforward the way Tinder used to be, upkeep would be kept to a minimum. What do you guys think
