Anybody getting any spam risk telemarket scam calls lately? Its been 3 weeks since the last one and I thought it was just me but I asked other folks and they said they barely got ANY either.

Did the feds finally crack down on those Indian scammer call centers? This feels bullish for telecom stocks.

I just passed 200k nominal across all holdings. I started with 62k in 2021. If I had gone 70% equities and 30% physical. Instead of 30% equities and 70% physical. I would be hunting 300k maybe this year or this quarter.

But my gut tells me. War is imminent. Uncontrolled conflagration and and eruption of unrestricted destruction and murder. And unlike most of you repugnant lovable shut-in bums. I have a family relying on me. And I cant afford to fuck this up.

On the other hand, they're as awash in money as any other memory-maker. Their EPS growth forecast over the next 3-5 years is 100% according to Schwab. That's obscene. I bought them a couple months ago, watched my investment go down to -30% at one point, and now I'm up +40%. It's anybody's guess.

Europe has about 40T in government bonds to refinance, went full retard since 2022, trying to sell it as "for our democracy". Target 2 is not even slightly covering and the common debt plan by communists in Brussles is going to make Italy and Hunagria, probably Czech Republic and Croatia and depending on if the Austrian government doesnt survives 2026, Austria leave the EU. Aside from having to wash my hands every 30 minutes and registering it on the system with our fingerprints, we also have instructions to discard any food that was cooked too long ago, and we have to use different tongs and spatulas. I suppose if I ever gave a customer an allergic reaction because I didn't use a properly sanitized tong or food poisoning because i serviced some meat i cooked 4 hours ago without discarding it, that they would be able to track it back to me using the receipt and the in-store system.

when people say "dollar is just losing value" they actually mean fiat is losing value in general. usd is world reserve currency, meaning all other currencies are just proxy for dollar.
assets inflate way faster than usd loses exchange rates vs other currencies, so even if you value them in something like CHF (which has negative inflation), it will still be pumping because there is a finite amount of assets which are all being bought by ~infinite amounts of dollar (more so than CHF itself is being bought by dollar due to lack of yield)

This. The next 5-10 years will be a drawdown of AI and an accelerating space boom. The orbital datacenters thing is actually kind of a hedge against the current AI craze because it positions Spacex to take over the compute side of the market once people start getting their way about banning data centers in a few years.

Both of my mining stocks have actually gone DOWN even though Silver is $15 higher than last week. It's extremely confusing to me.
>>
Why are silver mining stocks not going up? I don't understand the disconnect

Because silver is going up faster.

What are you buying
>>
>>61638006
Mining stocks go up when there is higher demand for the physical metal, or if they produce more product

The price of gold and silver isn't really connected to the availability of the metal the way you think it is. There's WAY more "paper" gold than there is real gold. The price of gold is arguably more fiat that the US dollar.
>>
>>61638006
Silver can’t be mined directly. It’s an extra from copper/gold mines. Atleast that’s what I hear

I don't actually know, but PERHAPS there's something happening like it's getting moar difficult, expensive, etc. to MINE silver, so less profit for the miners, and less increase in silver /supply/, thus adding to the value of the silver that's already been mined.

It costs $1200 to place one pound of mass in orbit. If we estimate the mass of the computing, refrigeration, and power distribution equipment in a 1GW AI datacenter at 100,000 tons (probably a low estimate), then it would cost 240 BILLION dollars to launch into orbit. That's while completely neglecting the solar panels, batteries, and extra cooling systems needed to keep it running in space. The solar panels, inverters, and mounting hardware would add another 300,000 tons to the launch mass, and the radiators needed to cool the datacenter without atmospheric convection would add another 3.5 MILLION tons to the launch mass. It would cost 9.6 TRILLION dollars to send JUST ONE 1GW datacenter to space. Plus you will have problems with space radiation causing bit flips and software errors, and no way to service or repair the hardware while it's in orbit. You would have to be actually retarded to think that space datacenters are a viable idea.
>>
>>61638044
Why would you need cooling in space when it's already freezing

Space is both incredibly hot and extremely cold, depending on location and exposure, because it's a near-vacuum where heat transfer (conduction/convection) is almost non-existent, leaving only radiation to dictate temperatures, making direct sunlight scorching (250°F+) while shadows plunge to near absolute zero (-454°F)

Would you like me to post my personal credentials and provide screenshots from five years ago when people were saying the same retarded uninformed shit about Starlink, or would you like to just admit that maybe a whole bunch of people who are smarter than you have done the math and concluded that space datacenters are feasible at a cost to orbit that Spacex can provide today with F9 that only gets better if Starship finally stops exploding?

No, $10 TRILLION as a lowball estimate without pressure vessels and radiation shielding.
>>
>>61638076
Ok? Current Starlink satellites operate at almost 30kw continuous and they don't even have radiators (the chassis acts as a passive radiator) which gives you a 1GW datacenter for the same constellation size as Starlink will be within a year with zero optimization.
>>
>>61638076
Oh and by the way
>licensed mechanical engineer
>needing a license to do engineering
So you're either a civil engineer or you're from Canada or Europe. In any case your opinion on aerospace engineering is worth less than dirt to me and anyone else that matters.
>>
>>61638121
You can't deploy them as a constellation because the computing hardware needs close physical proximity for networking and interconnect purposes. Each datacenter would be the largest space station ever constructed by multiple orders of magnitude, being about 8000X larger than the ISS, and then you would still have to build hundreds more of them.

It's called a PE stamp, you vantablack NIGGER.
>>
>>61638183
>It's called a PE stamp, you vantablack NIGGER.
You are actually licensed as an engineer and the stamp is a required mark to display your name and license type and number which you affix to certain documents presenting professional engineering level work.

Every Starlink sat already has has three 200 Gbps optical inter-satellite link lasers that it uses to communicate with its neighbors, retard. The technology already exists.

And I'm aware of what a PE license is but I've never seen a PE stamp used on anything other than civil engineering shit. What industry do you work in?

Why do normies go through immense mental gymnastics to explain why they're poor even though they're "smart"?
Acquiring wealth solves 99% of your problems. Not being a good problem solver means not being smart.

the only way to lose heat in a vacuum is via radiation which is slow, so even tho space is near kelvin, if you jumped into space naked you wouldn't freeze immediately like you would jumping into near 0 kelvin liquid helium or something, you would die slowly as the heat in your body radiates out into space
>>
>>61638224
I'm an aerospace engineer that works on satellites (no I do not currently work for Spacex) and I don't have/need a PE license. None of my coworkers have PE licenses and as far as I know, none of my superiors have PE licenses. Two of my coworkers don't even have fucking bachelors degrees. The only time I have ever seen a PE stamp in real life was when I got some shit approved by the city to build a shop on my property.
>>
>>61638226
200 goodboy points per second is fucking nothing compared to what these datacenters are using to train their huckhueg money incinerator models. Plus it's bandwidth AND latency.
>And I'm aware of what a PE license is but I've never seen a PE stamp used on anything other than civil engineering shit. What industry do you work in?
Aerospace and AI simultaneously. :^) I've never actually used it for anything other than to dab on lesser engineers lmao.

Depends where you live, if in US depends on the state. There are lots of professional licenses like doctors, lawyers, surveyors and so on, but some fields require you to stamp your work (drawings or reports) like surveyors, geologists, civil engineers, architects, sometimes petroleum engineers, electrical or mechanical engineers - mostly when dealing with work related to public safety or environmental protection. You know from all the deaths.
>>
>>61638255
>I'm an aerospace engineer that works on satellites
The site you work at, the buildings you work in were designed and built and approved by people with professional licenses (geotechnical, structural, wiring, archetectual, fire safety. What goes on inside may not require any licensing.
