Ofc you need to learn the rules and some basic principles first but don't go too deep in theory before getting a first feel for the game. Also it's very common to be scared about a competitive game against another human, just don't care about getting beat and always try to learn from losses (analyze your games). It needs to happen a few times so you get placed in your elo and get matched against equal opponents. Just start.
