Another reason was everyone was interested in holding for at least 30+ days so real communities formed around those shitcoins. But now, most of the market participants would rather hop from pump and dump to pump and dump instead of build something long term, plus nobody really makes anything cool or unique anymore and even if they did nobody would care because once it pumps its on to the next one.
