Will America become "affordable" for like 2/3s of Americans ever again? What about other countries? Are we all supposed to move to poorer countries in mid-life?
>>
>>61641874
Don't worry, you don't have to move, you're going to become the poorer country
>>
>>61641909
I hope the best for you and your people.
>>
>>61641874
No, and that isn't the historical norm. The boomers just got super lucky being born at the right time into the right nation. Now we're going back to extreme haves and have-nots.
>>
>>61641874
>poors complaining things are unaffordable
this has always been the case, maybe if you studied in school and got a decent job you could afford something
>>
>>61642096
Dang. When will be the next one?
>>
>>61642114
>maybe if you took tens of thousands in student debt over four to six years of your life to get an 80k a year job you'd be successful
Hello guidance councilor
>>
>>61642114
Legalize suicide booths.
>>
>>61641874
No. Jews hate you and want to make sure that life is always hard for you and that you will never be able to afford a home and breed a family
>>
>>61641874
I feel like such a fucking loser. I was eating steak everyday and now I have to go back to eggs :/
>>
>>61642114
Also, even a lot of people with degrees are poor. It's like 85% housing.
>>
>>61641874
No it’s over, you don’t even get Pay-Now-Own-Later like other countries. United States has reached the point of no return.
>>
>>61642148
Our housing is more affordable than most other developed countries. We have loans. You're like some kind of crazy person.
>>
>>61641874
No and you don't even know why it's never gonna happen because you have a double digit IQ so just shut up and accept your place I guess as at least you're making more than 90% of the world.
>>
>>61642283
I have a high IQ. I'm like that guy on the chart that is near genius and poor. Stop bullying people.
>>
Its affordable right now, there is nothing stopping from eating bread, drinking water, living with 8 roommates

Just a thousand excuses and an undeserved ego
>>
>>61642159
Your housing is also absolute fucking slop compared to other countries who build with half decent materials. Fronting for a mortgage for a house that will be lucky to not have any serious structural defects, let alone all the maintenance because of shit materials and beaner workmanship before the mortgage is even cleared.
>>
>>61641874
I heard there are several safewalls for Americans not to migrate. Like you keep being a taxpig even if you move abroad fuckin hellscape of a country
>>
>>61642367
lol, lmao even, I have seen the quality of houses being built in Australia, it's just as or even worse than the trash being made in the US
>>
>>61642374
You have to renounce citizenship. If you're on our side - you got to pay the tithe.
>>
>>61642114
>maybe if you studied in school
considering we are now in an age of fiscal dominance i would suggest that for kids today it isnt worth it to forgo 4-6 years of wages and add loans on top of it for a job
get to earning money as soon as possible even when in highschool as legally allowed and starting throwing it all in risk assets and compound for 20 years
by 40 you will laugh in the face of all the degreed wagies whose earning potential has been rekt by at least 3 financial event induced restructurings

correct

everyone bitching about affordability refuses to live anywhere other than the top ~20 metro areas in terms of salaries

they're all taking 100k jobs in san francisco, paying the government a ton of money in taxes, paying a landlord a ton of money in rent, and living among minorities, because they're way better than a 60k/year job in south dakota
>>
>>61641874
I voted for this
>>
>>61643443
I would like to but it's easier said than done to just uproot your life to a place with no support structure.
>>

According to HUD, spending >30% of your income on housing makes you 'cost-burned' and spending >50% makes you 'severely cost-burdened.' And that includes utilities. That chart does not. So some number of green counties move up. Meaning 3/4 or more of the national population is in an area where they would be burdened by home ownership. And your solution is for tens of millions of people to move to rural areas where there are apparently all those $60k jobs waiting for them.

The fact that the 30-39% bracket has the greatest population is not a surprise to me. That indicates real estate pushes to the limits of affordability by default. Housing as a profit maximizing industry destroys societies by burdening average people and leaving them little opportunity to save, invest, retire, start small businesses or take any financial risks. One imagines that's by design.

https://www.huduser.gov/portal/datasets/cp/CHAS/bg_chas.html
>Cost burden – Monthly housing costs (including utilities) exceeding 30% of monthly income.
>Severe cost burden – Monthly housing costs (including utilities) exceeding 50% of monthly income.

>just move somewhere where the only jobs are the gas station and smoking fent
Some of us actually work and not remotely spreading our assholes for OnlyGoys
>>
>>61643443
100k isn't even worth getting out of bed in SF.

300k minimum and you'd like that to really be 500k+ (senior FAANG+) to be worth it
>>

I feel like it could it was basically how Mamdani was able to win NY so maybe more politicians will focus on it

In less than 10 years I will be in my 40s. I don't care about affordability, only accumulating wealth any way I can. by the time america is affordable again I'll be too old for it to matter.
