Is a 1oz gold bar really worth it? Can't afford more than £3700 at present, but is it worth what's surely a tiny profit in a few years' time unless I stack multiple larger bars?
>>
Buy Britannias or sovereigns, they are VAT and CGT free, bars aren't (Still pay CGT).
>>
>>61642531
welcome to investing..
>>
>>61642553
Also coins have security features that make them easier to sell if you need to.
>>
You probably would have made the same argument when gold was at $3200 whereas I bought. Now Im up $1400. If you cant afford 1oz then thats not a “tiny profit.”
>>
>>61642531
Bars, no. Coins, yes.

The trick with investment is that yo ujust need to wageslave and try to grow your capital so you can do DD and put it into the next nvidia. People will always try to convince you to jump on the elevator currently pumping and sometimes it works but the biggest gains are from being ahead of the crowd.

why is it 999.9 and not 99.99?
>>
>>61646666
It's fake. Welcome to the world of trading PMs. Coins have security features but they command a greater premium. You can only sell under spot so you better have a good profit before you think about. It.
>>
>>61642531
Investing in gold-covered-tungsten is always a good idea.

I thought they generally used ".999" or maybe ".9999".

No surprise there
>>

Shiny rocks aren't garbage, but counterfeits are. Unfortunately the market is flooded with Chinese counterfeit shit nowadays. You kinda need a testing machine to make sure you're not being sold fakes. Even le famous Local Coin Stores screw up (or intentionally try to scam people).
>>
>>61642531
No. Buy mining stocks
>>
>>61642531
will you be complaining when the bar is wourth 10,000 euros? Will you be complaining if the Euro collapses? Will you be complaining if a cyber attack or quantum computer wipes out your online banking account?
>>
>>61647698
If that happens, my rifle and tuna stack will trump your physical gold, lets see then who eats and who doesnt

>Shiny rocks arent garbage
>Proceeds to mention massive vulnerability in the asset that simply doesnt exist in bitcoin
Kek and if thats not enough i can also add some more facts for you:
- i can sell my btc at spot value instantly without leaving my house, cause i can trade it directly on the global marketplace instead of having to go talk to a greasy jew that will inevitably try to pay me 90-95% of the spot value while constantly trying to lowball me with his disgusting jewish negotiating tactics (inb4 "just say no brah" the point is i dont even wanna have to do this in the first place and btc alows me not to)
-cant store it easily if high enough volumes. Super heavy and takes up a substantial amount of space. If you dont buy proper expensive security, have fun sleeping at night. (Inb4 "muh etfs" yeah then thats not really your gold fuckhead, its just a "trust me brah" note on a screen)
-cant move it across border. Cant send it to the other corner of the world in a second.

I dont know how this is hard to understand. The only reason this is hard to understand, is because people take digital technology for granted. They dont understand that this thing used to not exist. The only reason bitcoin doesnt exist for 1000 years is because it was not technologically possible to create it. Thats it, thats the only reason. All you precious metals retards are basically like the people that defended maintaining the use of horses when cars first appeared. No different. And you will see how wrong you are over then next century.

Dont bother with gold, that train has already left the station, silver is "affordable" and about to leave the station.

Buying at ATHs feels so cucked but the more I wait the more it goes up...

>Is a 1oz gold bar really worth it?

No, that tiny amount of money will do nothing and you'll basically never sell it. Spend the money on something that will improve your life, some sort of labor saving device.

Really? Every exchange I've ever used takes anywhere from 1% to 10%. I was in Argentina over the summer (their winter, sadly) and had to take a 3% haircut every time I topped up my pesos. I didn't mind all that much since they need the money down there and it let me keep hanging out, and besides it was at $112K to $121K, but still.

Kinda glad now that I took that vacay and had fun, since we're down to $94K now. Goddammit I was waiting for $150K to buy my Porsche.

>>
>>61642531
buy silver retard. Then swap it for gold when silver gsr is under 30.

Austrian Coronas are my fav 1oz coin (.98) and they usually have a very low premium, or did.
>>
>>61656571
I was actually looking at a 10oz silver coin this morning. £1007 incl VAT, is that a good deal?
>>
>>61642531
So you can earn a profit of let's say £600 after 5 years? What's the point?

I'm not buying more BTC, I'm selling to pay for my living expenses. I already have more BTC than I will be able to spend in the rest of my lifetime.
