day 340 of growing my charizard collection till it hits $1mildo you think upcoming Perfect Order will be a flop or investible?
>>61646135Do you have the celebrations metal charizard and pikachu cards anon?
>>61646140got one metal zard yeah, no pika why?unfortunately the metal zard has a mark on it but still looks good in binder
>>61646151I just find them cool man, I got them both in psa 9. Apparently psa won’t grade them anymore so I’m pretty happy with that
Want to get a couple of cards graded but it is so insanely gay that psa upcharges you based on the value of the card, instead of just having a flat grading fee
>>61646157nice yeah they're cool cards i like my metal zard
>>61646135Do you have individual price charts for each Zard?
>>61646280have most my zards in "collectr" which isnt fully accurate but tracks price automatically yeah, you can also search each one periodically on pricecharting or pokemonwizard
>>61646305collectr app*
>>61646305Huh. Ok cool thanks. I don't do TCGs but always wondered how that worked.
New top sale for the 2025 Topps Chrome Marvel Studios set. Daredevil (Charlie Cox) autograph on the red refractor numbered to 5. Originally was listed for 12k then dropped to 10k, someone scooped last night when he dropped it to 8k. Holy shit.
By chance, are you hispanic?
>>61646680damn $8k for a marvel card kek
>>61646135Hello TCG fags. I have no interest in dumb ass paper cards. But I know other retards value them. What are some card packs I can invest in and hold unsealed for 20-30 years? Pokémon? Will kids even know what that is in 30 years? What about OnePiece, that seems more popular with young kids? Thoughts?
>>61647054Yea I really don't get it. I get that only 5 of those cards exist and it's autographed by a relatively known character. But the same version of this card sold for $1400 a couple of days prior so this $8k sale feels really weird and at best case scenario is someone feeling extreme FOMO, and at worst a fluffed up inflated buy and cancel strategy.>>61647089Safest bet is buy any pokemon sealed box and hold it for like 5 years. If you are in the USA, doing this with sports cards is also not a bad idea.
>>61647138Interesting. ChatGPT says OnePiece is the fastest growing among anime loving younger generations, and Asia. I might start a OnePiece and Basketball card pack collections, unsealed.
>>61647089one piece is risky since its FOMO season atm but if hype dies down abit you could go for itbut yeah pokemon sealed product is the safest bet
>>61646135>$1milwhat is the market value of your Zardstack today?
>>61647291Good point
>>61647089You're a laggard
>>61647198>Basketball card pack collections, unsealedIf your goal is to make money through basketball cards you would just hoard as many sealed 2025-2026 Chrome basketball hangers, blasters, megas, hobby boxes as you can. Unless you have a gambling addiction and decide you want to open it up and look for a $200,000 cooper flagg autograph or something. I personally am more of a pack ripper than I am a box hoarder.
>>61647435Ok, how do I not be a laggard, share some alpha bro.
>>61647862I only have this opinion about your interest on tcg. Pokemon is crashing and you're eyeing one piece?
>>61647991I’m eyeing OP because it’s very popular among genZ & Gen Alpha youths and the fastest growing TCG in Asia which has a massive population. Tell me, will they be nostalgic for these cards when they grow up and are in their 30’s/40’s?Tell me what I should be buying.
>>61648585If you're fine buying with the current price and a possibility of getting reprints on every EB0X release then go ahead. On Pokemon, I would probably buy all the sealed Destined Rivals and Crown Zenith I could find.
>>61648626Noted. Should I wait to buy Pokémon/OP card collections to let the market cool off a bit?
>>61649749pokemon = smp500 of tcg. It's the biggest media ip and is worth 2x the amount of the 2nd place franchise. If you even vaguely like the IP and won't get bored researching about it, just stick to that. it's really that simple pokemon is too big to fail. I personally prefer to stick to shit I enjoy though even if there is less money to be made but if you care about money just stick to the simple shit that has a proven track record.>t. mcu slop enjoyer
>>61650216Ok I sort of lied, I don’t hate trading cards completely, I’ve been researching them, and used to have an entire binder full back in the early 2000’s when I was a kid, they’re kinda growing on me and remind me of my childhood. I’m gonna start investing. I’ve heard, mew two’s, gengars, Charizards, pikachu, umbreon, etc are pretty popular to collect?Side note - One Piece cards are overvalued as fuck holy shit they need to crash. I’m gonna wait on them.
>>61647054But are you hispanic?
>>61650413what are you ICE?
>>61646180PSA is a scam, this is one of the reasons but there’s many other reasons as well.
>>61649749You might want to look into Rudy from Alpha investments on youtube. Mans got a whole empire built on cardboard TCGs.tldr Buy when everyone hates it, ditches the product and card stores go bankrupt. Singles are always higher risk but higher reward compared to sealed product. In fact, sealed is king. There is also a playability angle when it comes to MTG and onepiece, this is less the case for pokemon. The recent sets from scarlet and violet that are bangers imo are 151, paldea evolved, prismatic, destined rivals.Paradox rift might be sleeper. In a way you are storing mini lottery tickets for later. Zoomers are really into this type of dopamine gambling stuff. The whole rip and ship concept on streaming platforms is also a new thing. Long term I think this wil remain decent for the upcoming years. If I go full schizo/degen there should be an an app that lets you loan against your cards/sealed product and leverage it to buy more product. This would also be the eventual reason for market meltdown.
>>61652076>storing mini lottery tickets for laternot enough people understand this, buying sealed product is like owning your own lotto/casino in the most popular media franchise, free money longterm
>>61652026I'm open to any alternatives. Beckett just got bouta by PSA's owners although I do like their labels. CGC labels are meh (i like the old blue ones more desu) and while I don't like the Tag slabs I do like that they are the most detailed and transparent in their analysis.
>>61652076I'm from Taiwan and I unpacked a [traditional chinese] mega charizard card. Someone wants to buy it for 130USD equivalent. Idk if I should wait or not. Can you gimme some insights ?
>>61652360i can see TAG rising up slowly>grade reports>cleaner slabs>LEADERBOARDunironically people will chase the #1 card once TAG grows
>>61652397The chinese market is one of its own. Pokemon only recently launched there from what I know. ProsMassive addressable market, its a zard, there are not many price points available but the once I see are pretty high compared to this price. Its a very rare card 1/90 packs and this specific is 1/240 to 300 packs. ConsChinese print tons?English is still most common compared to alt languages.I have literally 0 knowledge about Chinese stuff. Friend of mine recently opened some product and its in general more ''fun'' as you are very likely to at least pull something cool.Do you need the money now? If yes then sell it if no hold it. If you want a long term or potential multiplier id grade it.What was your cost basis?https://www.pricecharting.com/game/pokemon-chinese-m2f/mega-charizard-x-ex-110https://www.ebay.com/itm/406374514755
>>61652076Seconding this. Rudy from Alpha Investments is good and so is Sean from Reserved Investments (unaffiliated). Sean's less focused on TCG's and more focused on other collectibles, but he drops a lot of good info>sealed is king100%. I never buy sealed and pretty much anything sealed that doesn't get reprinted (DYOR so you don't get fucked) goes up in a long enough time horizon.
>>61646135what's the stack under the top left zard? do you have any shadowless or 1st ed?
>>61652721no shadowless or 1st editions yet but one day ill grab them
