Bitcoin is open source banking. So for example, if he lived in Iran and you wanted to trade your currency for bitcoin before the banks collapse you could do that. Silver physical assets would be seized the moment you’re trying to leave the country. I don’t think you can compare those two things apples to apples. I’m not a huge bitcoin person however I do think it has utility purpose as an open source banking platform.
>>
>>61653066
Lol relax, I was just doing a little trolling, although it wouldn’t hurt to do a bit of diversification of that portfolio no? I’d hate not to be able to.. Trade these metals in physical form, at some point in the future.
I’d unironically consider these possibilities.

And furthermore everyone is now freaking that we’re back at 13th January prices kek oh dear ATH - $6 end of the world

Yes absolutely.
When silver tops $100 I might liquidate just a bit to get some fiat in the bank. Just for paying bills and day to day expenses. Not to "stack fiat" like those idiot lunatic reactionaries seem to autofuckinmatically assume anytime you even mention selling even the tiniest amount.
Also, First Majestic has quadrupled in value since I bought it.
PSLV also, and is at 200% of previous ATH.

I’m sure that anyone that’s recently fled Iran after their bank system collapsed would happily pay tax on whatever’s left. Would a lot of people don’t realize is that the open ledger aspect of bitcoin makes it audible and more supportable by government. Whereas XMR is the opposite. If someone fled Iran holding physical silver, it would likely be confiscated at the airport or the border on either side. The Iranian government cannot seize that person’s bitcoin. As you mentioned, maybe they have to pay tax on it, however, what seems like a better deal to you: nothing or something? I do think you’re moving the goal post with this response so likely it’s going to get worse on your next reply.

iran has their internet down, if they cant get out, they cant access their 1's and 0's. depending on how theyve stored their 1's and 0's they could have them stolen. pic rel.
the on and off ramps can also steal your money.
if corps and govs are the only ones in control of the system, they can like they've done before on other issues and collude to take over the network.

It's a pity, but I'm kind of out of the stacking game. I'm restricting myself (if I can) to buying only pieces that really move me. Between prices being high and my state now charging tax, I can't justify buying things on a lark anymore. :(

I was being a bit facetious, but colored coins are often after-market third-party 'enhancements'. It's a corruption of the original. The US Mint has colored some coins, but you have to know which ones. Offhand, I don't know of a list, but a colored Eagle should come with a certificate of authenticity - I think they were all made as commemorative coins.

miners are just catching up. they deviated from spot far too much. miners have been pretty dead for the last half month or so even though their fundamentals keep looking better and better. The drops in silver have been devastating. I've been swing trading them mostly successfully. I have an extra 5 ounces to show for it :) It's been a bit nerve wracking though. my estimate is that hecla is still a 2x or 3x from here. that said, I think that it's going to lag the rest of the miners over the year. once silver settles down and hecla gets its next nice pop up, i think it'll just be slow and steady gains. I'd guess like Kirkland Lake?

Silver was demonetized in preparation for the introduction of the federal reserve in 1912. The bankers control most of the gold supply. Additionally, 70% of silver comes out of the Earth as a byproduct so supplies inelastic. You can’t just mine more like you can gold.

Gold is also inelastic It’s silver is much more so.
>>
>>61654225
This oddity comes from two major factors:
1) Gold is so precious that it is used as little as possible in things that make it disappear.
2) The only possibly reliable source of statistics on silver consumption (Silver Institute, quoted by Apmex) say 90% (!) of all silvermined has been lost to consumption: used in weaponry, electronics, photography (less so now of course), whatever. That one assessment (and some population changes) brought the 1% number down from 367 ozt to 36.2.

One more thing in general:
This 1% should be thought of more like, "If 1% of the global population were each issued an equal portion of all existing silver, they would each get 36.2 ozt."
This is distinctly different from "If you have 36.2 ozt, you're in the top 1% of silver owners."
>>
>>61654269
>I think my point is fairly obvious.
You think wrong. Unless you're saying we're all idiots and don't know what we're doing when weighing stuff.
>>
>>61654235
>how can there be more gold when humans mine more silver than gold
because silver does corrode over time which destroys it at least partially, and it's consumed in industries and not recovered or recycled. they put way more silver into a missile than gold, for example. same for silver used in cloud seeding, medical bandages, etc.
