Are there any anons here that were alive during the dot com bubble? What was it like? Did you lose money?
>>61665929I made six figures duriong that time.
The ring I remember from that time was that all the skyscrapers in my capital city had replaced the illuminated logos on their buildings with ones that said “.com” after the brand name. So like instead of the IBM logo they changed it to IBM.com
>>61665929I was 12. Adults were big on stocks and even normal people would talk about what stock they had bought. Everything was a fictional idea like a company that would deliver dildos door to door or a company that would sell limo rides..it was all just random crap that sounded like it might become something. NO ONE knew amazon/google/etc would win. This is probably the big thing people forget. The survivorship bias is massive. Literally nobody knew who would come out on top and for awhile when it was crashing it looked like the internet might just go away altogether.

>>61665929I was 28 years old, getting divorced. Had one kid and nowhere to live.I didn't lose any money, I didn't have any invested. Most people didn't have any invested, just like now. Believe it or not, most people don't have money to gamble on stocks.
>>61665929Lots of the dotcom bubble stuff was just too early. For example there were websites for online grocery shopping that went bankrupt but now online shopping is huge, I see the grocery store delivery vans all the time where I live
