Alpha EditionWelcome to paper precious metals general. We're here to discuss paper markets for precious metals (ETFs, stocks, options, futures, etc.). /pmg/ has been moving too fast for discussions pertaining to equities and physical stackers get upset about discussions around equities, /smg/ similarly appears to move too fast, and /cmmg/ has been living in their /bant/ colony, which warrants the creation of this general.>Major minershttps://www.visualcapitalist.com/dp/si01-silver-mining-companies/>VanEckGold Miners: GDX, GDXJGold ETF: OUNZhttps://www.vaneck.com/us/en/etf-mutual-fund-finder/?InvType=etf&AssetClass=c-g&ShareClass=a,c,i,y,z>Silver Miner ETFsSilver Majors SIL: https://www.globalxetfs.com/funds/silSilver Juniors SILJ: https://amplifyetfs.com/silj/>SprottAllocated Physical ETFs: PSLV, PHYS, SPPP, CEFMiner ETFs: GBUG, SLVR, SGDM, SGDIhttps://sprott.com/investment-strategies/exchange-listed-products>Schiff / EuropacGold Miner Mutual Fund: EPGIXhttps://europacificfunds.com/our-funds/>Literal trashSLV, GLDIf we keep this running, let's build out the resources!
>>61674219Do Hecla/Endeavor LEAPS look good? I'm not tempted to play silver spot, especially SLV like that.>>61674196>>61674249i think it's EXK (Endeavor), not that this is the place to discuss further. Good link.>>61674283I'm surprised you're going for>>61674287Be careful about the strategy anon, and make sure to manage risk really well. These miners are already multi-baggers. When they say 100x gains,it'll be more like 25 or 50 for you with those big winners. Most of the time they say they'll 10x, so for you it might be more of a 2x or 3x since you're likely coming in after the first few very long innings. That said, with spot exploding and in the current environment, who knows.
What's so bad about iShares' ETFs?
>>61674543counterparty risk. You can play it, but it's risky. If you think that's inappropriate, it can be amended. I wouldn't play SLV outside of short term options or short term buy/sell, especially when PSLV exists.
>>61674529fuck, got fatigued from making the OP.>i think it's EXK (Endeavor)this IS now the appropriate place>I'm surprised you're going forPHYS. How long are you holding?
>>61674524Nice stack, anon, but be careful posting it online. Someone might break into your house and vacuum it up.
>>61674524
All I own right now are commodity miners>AEM, AGI, KGC>GENMF, AUMBF, RVLGF, SCTSF>UUUU, CCJ
>>61674694have you used this yet? How are these gold savings/spending accounts? I haven't kept up.
I like this idea
In the near future you'll be able to own atoms if silver or gold! Entire atoms dude!!!
>>61675222My atoms doing a lil somethin.
Can someone explain why paper gold and silver are considered bad investments? I though, just like with futures contracts, you never actually intend to take physical delivery of silver. You're just trading derivatives based on the price of said metals hoping for a big payout because of leverage and generate some cash flow while you're waiting. Isn't that just the smart way to do things?
>>61675313>>61675313>Can someone explain why paper gold and silver are considered bad investments?they're really not, hence why i made the thread. /pmg/ has been getting swarmed with stormfags and physical purists. Here's the argument from that perspective:>it's fucking paper and there's an absurd amount of paper silver vs. physical (rehypothecation (I'm gonna use ReHP)) >issues with ReHP in commodities contracts can also be applied to equities brokers and clearing houses who will loan out shares and may also get caught up in a paper apocalpyse>unlike physical PM, paper isn't really "yours" with no counterparty riskTo play off of why paper makes sense from a holistic view...>paper PM and miners don't typically have the same spreads unless you're playing options or really tiny miners.>paper is more liquid>paper does come with counterparty risk but not ownership risk>paper can actually be an asset (income producing) instead of just commodities or possessions/property.The core position most likely should be physical PM, especially given how bad counterparty/third and fourth party risks are, but to not have any paper exposures is likely to be inappropriate for most.
I literally can't focus during work hours (WFH). I just stare at the graphs. +20% gains today, the FOMO hits hard. How insane will it be when normies rush to this? Also, shill your most promising junior mining companies. I'm ready.
I have arrived. Currently long gdxu, sil calls, gld call and a basket of silver miner calls.
>>61674855>UUUUthat's a big stock
>>61675901Fuark, that's nice gains. Wish I knew how to do calls. Or leverage. I just by stocks. I'm up 500% on my physical but that's just 400k right now. Up 50% on my stocks with puny 75k. I'm a poorfag. And I have a shitty rental worth 200k but who gives a fuck. Hopefully there's a massive EMP wave tomorrow and we return to the stone age so I can play warlord with my physical.
God damn... ...I love being a bullionaire.
I love trading my papers for metals.
>>61676117I have a physical stack as well. 50oz gold & 2000oz silver. In hindsight wish I had done more silver but oh well.
>>61675884do you even need juniors? check pic>>61676126>>61676138i'm too poor to speculate and get several ounces with my gains.... i've been able to get an extra 15oz., but paper is looking extra spicy right now.
>>61674524>my imaginary currency backed by absolutely nothing is losing valueoh no anyway
My illiteracy got the best of me. Just realized this is PAPER /pmg/
>put all my savings into gold in October '24 so the UK government cant track me as i wanted to claim benefits but was way over the threshold>end up nearly doubling my savings in just over a yearLol, lmao even
>>61676254i would rather hold paper silver than gold.
>>61676247we might need to rebrand a bit, but that was the best i had in mind.OPs should probably have a "physical first" note and direct to /pmg/Maybe we'll reduce it to /ppm/ and just put the general in the title.
>>61676168Then I'm obliged to give you my jealous: fuck you.
