God has provided a perfectly reasonable set of materials to use as transaction mediums (Gold is so incredibly malleable and formable with simple tools). There have been generational efforts to get commoners to used financial "products" - like dollars and derivatives. We are so far into the clown show people have forgotten what money is even for.
