Is it safe to say that the concept of cryptocurrency has proven to be a massive failure?
Bitcoin has 6x'd in price over the last 5 years.
When was the last time you bought something with Bitcoin?
Do you know of anywhere that accepts Bitcoin today that didn't accept Bitcoin 5 years ago?
All of this growth and for what? No wonder this shit is dumping. People have been investing in a future that will never be realized.

It's definitely circling the drain, but that's okay. It was a learning experience for a lot of people.

A blockchain-based currency isn't designed to function as a store of capital like gold and silver are. The concept only works if people are using it as an actual currency.

I can't even fucking sell, have to wait until I have the money for gas fees. Hopefully it will be above 90k by that time.

kek. people pay with crypto all the time. transactions are settled in stablecoins. which demonstrates several things:
people treat "cryptocurrencies" as a store of value or as representations of a digital commodity.
the us dollar remains the preferred vehicle for international transaction settlement.
the settlement speed and low cost defeat existing payment processors by several orders of magnitude.
these systems are very obviously going to be used well into the future.

I live in cali and I've never seen crypto used in any transaction ever minus speculation. Not even during the silk road days.
