I wonder why this is always framed as taco-ing, when it should be obvious by now that Trump is effective at getting what he wants with just a little bit of saber rattling? If this is all America needs to do to get all the European leaders to come to the table and give things up, then it should do it more often. I'm not even inclined to give Trump that much credit, there just doesn't seem to be a single "executive" among the EU.
The framing around this is ridiculous.

America has on multiple occasions tried to give Europeans their pre WW2 sovereignty back.
They simply cannot handle it.

The best example would be the business in the Balkans.
Bill tried for ages to get them to sort it out themselves, and they simply could not do it.
After this America essentially gave up on the idea in diplomatic circles, though there was a half hearted attempt to do it with Ukraine where the result was identical.

Europe needs a man in her life to make decisions for her, tell her what to order, what to wear, etc.
That can either be a loud and obnoxious America that is crude but still ultimately loves her, or a China who plays nice now but secretly never forgot how mean she was to him in high school and has a strong desire for revenge.

I just liquidated my entire miner portfolio 3 hours ago. I knew an intermediate top was in. Hoping for a nice buyback like mid October.

Now look at this shit. I mean I'm still happy. Its super bullish but FFS. Gimme just a 5% correction. Scoop up my same miners at 20-30% discount. But no. The fucking buying has so much momentum. All the fucking dips are instantly bought. If it doesn't take a dive to 4600 and 87 by tomorrow I'm just reloading it.

Gutted. Timed it to absolute perfection at 4880, watching latest from Davos side channels and some twat faces I know. I knew the compromise was in on Greenland a couple hours before Trump tweeted. I was happy as fuck.

DUMP YOU ABSOLUTE BASTARD!

BTW. B2 Gold has excellent fundamentals.

MSFT is history. I switched short from a long at 490 and it has been the easiest money I've ever made. I haven't even blinked at the possibility of upside risk. The earnings report is going to make me re-evaluate, but I'm not necessarily closing the short. I'm targeting 395 right now and the report might just confirm there's a 100% chance it's going there,so we'll see. Even if the reaction is positive, I would need to see a 10% jump or so to make me think I might be in trouble. It's the easiest short I've ever been a part of.

God damn this is a high yield thermonuclear trvke that I am saving in my brain for future use. I've traveled in China and learnt enough Chinese to converse with the locals. I know about their Patriotic Education system and how effective it is at producing brainwashed nationalist socialists. I never thought about it before, but vengeful incel is a particularly poignant way to describe the general Chinese attitude towards Europe. not everything is what it seems here. you really shouldn't take politicians at their word. europe wants to get the best deal it can for greenland too, and they are going to negotiate hard as well. we can already do most everything we want there, and even if we "couldn't" nothing could stop us. i don't think the fight over greenland is nearly as hot as it's being made to seem, don't think the disagreements are nearly as deep as they're being made out to be. a good deal will almost certainly be made. you can't keep letting euros make you upset, it's supposed to be the other way around.

I don't think the Greenland saga is over. Trump met with the NATO secretary aka a useless asskisser, not the actual euro leaders. Now the euros could back down, but the danes have already came out and said they have no idea what the fuck Trump is talking about with this supposed deal and they've heard nothing of it. Euros might reassert that Greenland is not for sale and we're back right where we started.

Royal Gold, Inc. (RGLD) – Simulated Score: 7/10

Valuation: fair-valued relative to gold royalty peers, modest P/E and premium pricing metrics.
Future Growth: moderate growth forecast tied to royalty revenue expansion, gold price exposure, stable cash flows.
Past Performance: strong margins and profit history, excellent operating and net margins above most miners.
Financial Health: low debt and high interest coverage, conservative balance sheet strength.
Dividends: low dividend yield under 1%, stable but modest income component.

RGLD provides stable royalty income, strong margins, and balance sheet discipline; growth is moderate, dividend is small.
Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. (AEM) – Simulated Score: 8/10

Valuation: trading near fair value with reasonable forward P/E, slightly premium to peers.
Future Growth: earnings and revenue growth projected, expanding reserves and production.
Past Performance: robust multi-year performance, strong operational execution reflected in stock gains.
Financial Health: very solid balance sheet, manageable debt and strong liquidity.
Dividends: modest yield around 0.9–1.0%, consistent payout history.

AEM shows superior growth prospects, strong financial health, and solid operating performance relative to mining peers.
Both are buys in my 5 point model. I own a large relative stake in AEM. 25% of that in RGLD

Stocks will keep going down at least until they start going up again. We will know for sure when that happens because price changes will switch from a downward direction to an upward one. The main indicator that we can use to identify this switch is that we will begin to see stock prices rising instead of falling. That will tell us when returns on stocks have changed from negative to positive. With positive returns, then the value of stocks will grow rather than shrink. Thus, the prices at which stocks are bought and sold will be going up instead of going down. Until then though, stock values will continue moving downward rather than upward.

I have a question for the high-rollers here.
I recently hit six figures in my brokerage account, and it got me thinking. The plan it to eventually have a million dollars in the brokerage, maybe more. Isn't that introducing a massive risk, that all your money is tied up in one "thing"? Like if you want to be wealthy investing, you might own a home, a vehicle, and keep a bank account with a few months expenses. But the lions share of your wealth, by far, will be in shares in your brokerage.
So what if your brokerage decides to screw you? I've been silly enough to use Robinhood, which seems to have fucked with people hard in the past over alleged suspicious activity, shut peoples accounts down entirely for high-spend transactions on the credit card that they were issued, etc. If that happens to you, well, close to ALL of your money would be inaccessible. Maybe you'd get it transferred back to your bank account somehow eventually, but if your wealth is all in shares and those shares get locked down for whatever reason, you're basically fucked, right? Just that they might get the wrong idea that you're a criminal or something from an error somewhere, locks down your account, you're fucked? And if they decide to shut down your account, would they like, send you stock certificates in the mail or liquidate all your shit and force you to take a giant bath on taxes? This feels like you're way too much at the mercy of the brokerage.

You're worrying too much. Just use a real brokerage like Fidelity and you'll be fine. You can also stay under the 250k line so if the brokerage goes bust you'll be refunded by that insurance whose acronym I forget.

The simple answer is to have various brokerage accounts. Personally, I use Vanguard and Robinhood. Having one for up to ~million is fine. After around 5-10m, two or three, and incremental diversification into physical assets (mainly property).

From what I've been told, when you hit 100m+ you hire people to manage your various accounts. You essentially become a capital provider on a macro scale. At this point, you simply review things on a yearly basis and focus on your main value output. If trading is your profession, you play with a slice of whole, and allow others to work with the rest.

I think the way we're using AI (i.e., chat interactions) is still largely incorrect and the most obvious way of "offering" intelligence. Once we find a better harness, humanity will flourish. And that's assuming the underlying machine intelligence doesn't dramatically improve.

Once again, your inability to structure questions means nothing. It's like a monkey babbling and drooling on itself, trying to ask a human how to add without knowing what a number is.

don't think of things as a battle. i'm not trying to beat you. when you said you were going to stop using bad words i was so proud of you, so happy. i wish you could go back to that, where you were when you said that and felt that way, that desire to change and be better. when you change your script, you change your setting. i used to cuss as much or more as you. i was as bad or worse as you are now babe. transformations happen, you just need that click in your head, the got it moment, and i know that will happen for you someday, i see what's special and excellent in you and believe in you.

Whats the consensus on MRAM? Tech looks good, but do data centers really care or need it over traditional? I slurped some just in case.

I worked and saved and did not buy a house because I needed to be mobile to change jobs and job locations and I was taveling a lot and did not have the time to take care of a house when I spent 4 days a week out of town. So renting/buying it depends on your circumstances. If you have actual cash in your brokerage account there is a limit for insurance, about $250k. Or you can can buy a MM or ETF of short term treasuries which is "cash" that does not tank when the market does. "cash" also means liquid stocks - like most of them you can sell for cash (needs to settle before your can withdraw). You can diversify across sectors to spread growth and risk over the long term, and buy ETFs for further diversification. If you are not retarded you can invest is some more riskier stocks to accelerate your gains, sometimes substantially, that is not something buying a house can do. If you buy the stock you own it, not the brokerage, the brokerage has records of your ownership so if the shitty brokerage you use goes until after some time you should be able to transfer, or the government will do it for you, your stocks to another brokerage and you still own them. Some actaul cash, some PMs, some good stocks, a reliable inexpensive shitbox car, a good job are all good investments. Inflation means $100 today is worth $60 in ten years, so you need to stay ahead of inflation or you are losing. You can also sell you stocks and buy a house. Saving in an IRA/401k is much better because you are not taxed on you gains and you sell and reposition. Growth stocks in your brokerage account; dividend stocks, options and stock plays in you tax free 401k/IRA accounts.

no they don't, but they might in the future. right now they just need bulk memory, but in a world where there's no scarcity, mram actually is better than dram because it has faster write speed, which can make inference and training faster. problem is that it doesn't scale down as well so it's not worth it financially, but it is both cooler and faster than dram and with better technology it could supplant all memory.

it has important niche use cases though, anything battery powered, anything that needs to be durable or secure, it's a big winner with military, space, robotics. the ip is extremely valuable.

I'm bullish on MSFT long term (though having some doubts about my position) but I feel the current downtrend is justified due to overinvestments in this AI bullshit and doubts about the return. Even Nadella is showing some public concern about it.

Apple, Meta, and Microsoft are currently losing (in that order) in the AI shift. Microsoft's saving grace is its ~25% stake in OpenAI.

Broadly, if they don't catch-up, there'll be a passing of the mantle to all the new IPOs. If Google were falling, you could doom, but the market is fine.

I hope so. The highest point I ever bought any of my current INTC stack was way back in January 2021 for $56.40 a share. I might just sell that specific lot just as a fun joke.

Each brokerage is insured up to a certain amount, but you should double check what the insurance is at whichever broker you choose to use. In general its 250k, but I've also seen 100k and my one friend in europe said his broker only insures up to 80k. For instance my broker is insured up to 1m, but that's a canadian thing
