How should I deal with the fact that thousands of crypto retards have apparently taken some art I've made and spun it off into dozens of cryptocurrency token bullshit things? (I don't know anything about cryptocurrency. I despise it all. Or at least the worthless financial scam aspects. No opinions about the technology.)I've noticed they keep warning each other about "impersonator contracts". I was considering trying to create and blast out some backdoored contracts with the same name and market those, but not sure if it's worth it.Maybe dox and DMCA, or sue? Gather info and wait til 2029 and report to CFTC for unregistered pennystock securities? Would love to see some of them on the hook for hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines.
>>61685238Post some of your art? They’re all in India OP, there won’t be any consequences for them.
>>61685260Nah, not going to give anything away that would lead to what the art or the tokens are. Going to stay anonymous for this one.>They’re all in India OP, there won’t be any consequences for them.A large percentage of them are in America, Canada, Australia, and Europe. (I checked.)
>>61685238Hi Anon, patent lawyer here. I've done a little with other forms of IP as well.If you can prove creation of the artwork -- that it is your creation, not some derivative work or AI generation -- then you can sue via the Copyright Claims Board (CCB). This is a simplified court that limits the amount you can claim to $15,000 per violation or $30,000 per case (so it's not really worth doing more than two violations per case unless your concern is about protecting your art rather than beating the shit out of someone). You don't have to hire an attorney, although of course we are always grateful for the business. You will have to register your work with the Copyright Office. I've never actually handled a case through the CCB so I don't know if you would have had to register timely, or can do it late, and if late I don't know if you can get the full damages or not.https://ccb.gov/Anyway, it's an avenue to consider. Go forth and do legal violence unto the scammers.
