Made what? Silver is only $100/oz. If it hits $1,000 some of us will have kinda made it. I have 1000 oz, more than most here, and that's only $1mil. That's not making it. I need at least 5 mil to retire, so when silver is 1:1 with gold, then we've made it

I wanted to buy 1oz of gold and another 25oz of silver this year but I'm realizing now that I have a lot of other expenses this year and can only afford the gold (a few specific coins I want to collect).

This may be the last year I can ever afford an ounce of anything. I just want to go back to stacking shiny rocks.

I COULD retire with a million, but I'm not a poorfag and I like nice things. I could live another 40-60 years. Retire for me means not risking any of that money in investments. If it's in 401k I'm not retired, because there is still risk. At $5mil I can live off the interest in a high interest savings account comfortably so that's my goal.

Well silver sisters, we really did it now. WAGMI!
>>
>>61701769
The key to fiat is where would everyone escape to? If there were a more stable currency in a more stable market than USA, then I would say we have actual risk. As it is, and despite communist retards and Chinese apologists, the US is the world's reserve currency. Most nations hold dollars. Many nations' currencies are pegged to the dollar. While that remains the case, weimar-style inflation is not possible.

There is not enough gold/silver to replace dollars. Crypto is a complete meme. No other currency possesses the stability and value of the dollar.

There will be people saying I'm wrong but none of them will prove it, or it will be all hypotheticals. So there's still time. I have been preaching this for years: we are in the perpetual debt system. As such, inflation MUST occur, so getting worked up about it doesn't do anything. Just accept that the dollar's value will be steadily debased. So things will cost more. And there will be huge increases in costs of assets (homes, metals, etc) but other things will become cheaper or remain the same. The only real struggle here is keeping your wages increasing in tandem with inflation and the only way to do that is make intelligent investments.

Take into account about 10% loss in buying then selling PMs and weigh that against the effects of inflation on car prices. Also consider where and how you're going to sell. I haven't researched car prices, but silver has done an astonishing climb the past two months. Past performance is not an indication of future returns" as almost all consultants disclaim.
If I was in a position where I knew I had an impending expense, I'd keep the cash in some form that returns at best available performance - e.g., a 6-month CD might keep pace with inflation.

>he's been stacking since the 70s. huge stack
>father in law dies before silver rally takes off
>mother in law takes possession of silver
>immediately wants to hock it for fiat
>tell her no, triple digits by feb 2026
>hit 103 silver ahead of schedule
>mother in law asks about hocking it again
>provide high level overview of supply/demand, GSR, decline of USD, bank projections for gold and silver in 2026
>suggest if selling, sell in tranches and convert to gold, not declining fiat that she doesn't "need" i.e., she will just sit on it letting the fiat depreciate
>mother in law asks her boomer friend same question
>boomer friend just says sell now
>my advice discarded
>she asks me best place to sell
>haven't bothered replying

I'm done with boomers. Doesn't matter how clearly you spell something out to them, they only see numbers in an account and have no concept that those numbers' purchasing power is rapidly declining.

Keep stacking, frens, and don't expect any of that boomer wealth to transfer to you to when they die. WAGMI, on our own.

Tell her to sell to you. You probably can't pay for all of it, maybe you can work out some deal - say pay for her immediate expense in exchange for x amount, then keep buying at current spot. As value increases, she will see it was better to hold it. Offer to cancel deal if she stops listening to her idiot friend. You'll inherit some day anyway.

>The ESL caption is confusing me.
It's okay if you're ESL fren. Let me explain in a long diatribe of words to portray the point to you on a silver platter, even A.I. can translate into your native terrestrial tongue:
In the image, there are some dirty silver rounds that have been encapsulated within a well water system to disinfect and help clense the stagnant and putrid H2O to make it fit to adequately serve a lifeform through consumption. Being as how lower lifeforms subsist upon upper lifeforms for hosting and providing nutritional support, they propagate in water to find entrance to those upper lifeforms hosts. Silver being antimicrobial, antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-parasitic when placed in the gap of the stagnation and consumption kills these little pests before they can gain entry. Thereby reducing the upper lifeforms' ingestion on natural enemies to its hosting and allowing it to thrive.
So, to specifically address if it (the silver) was used or left, is a complete misunderstanding it is referring to the silver on the left in the picture was used and left to, moreover the service of the silver was to eliminate the lower lifeforms that parasite upon the upper ones. However I, one of those upper lifeforms had to service the silver as illustrated by the silver on the right of the picture having to work to clean it off before reintroduction into to stream of service it was preforming. This is why it's actually performing a function in service to an upper lifeform because the upper lifeform isn't willfully ignorant of its capacity or usefulness to serve. And also why niggers (willfully ignorant people) think currencies are money.
Hopefully the A.I. can accurately transliterate this into whatever terrestrial speak is your best fit.
May God bless you and keep you and remember, you don't have to add anything to the well to poison it if you remove the silver it accomplishes the same results.

Should I buy silver myself or invest in a physical silver ETF?

From what I gather
>real silver is better if shit should really hit the fan
>you don't pay taxes on what the taxman doesn't know about
>no fund costs, it's just you and your stacks
vs
>ETF's allow you to buy and sell instantly at spot prices so long as the market is open
>you don't need to sit on your silver like a dragon or worry about break-ins

I'm leaning towards buying ETF's until I reach a value of at least 100k and then buying some of the real stuff.

When you buy some silver ETF, you don't buy physical silver that exists somewhere and someone holds it for you, you actually buy a piece of paper which claims you own a specific amount of silver that most likely doesn't exist.
For SLV, there are 378 times more paper silver than physical silver in their own vaults.
That's the idea behind SETF, if people buy up physical silver, they are going to run out of it and all those SLV holders are going to baghold some piece of paper which claims you can acquire silver with it, but which cannot be redeemed at all because it doesn't exist anymore.
>inb4 I buy some other ETF or PSLV
All of them are the same, if some whale hears SLV has no silver he is going to redeem his PSLV and the same thing happens there too.
The physical silver is the valuable one which has its price exploding, not some unredeemable paper.
>>
>>61702127
Since there is no paper general I will just say that stocks helped fund my stack up to this point.
Sounds reasonable on paper but as we say "paper is patient".
Most of my stack consists from sinking my paychecks into it.

My favorite thing about junk/world silver is that it's the easiest way to remind yourself that even if those governments haven't existed for a century, aren't even on the map anymore or their fiat currency is nothing more than a worthless collectors item, I can still exchange their silver money for cash to this day.

>>
>>61702224
Okay I didn't know that. To be honest I don't know much about ETF's to begin with.

So if silver would run out, it's best to hold onto the real thing. And any merchant would likely pay above the spot price if you're willing to part with yours.
On the other hand, if silver doesn't run out and this price surge abates, it's possible that merchants are only going to pay you below the spot price, with the argument that it's harder to sell now.

Me and my sibling sent a ton of emails explaining why the plandemic was fake and gay, same for my mother in law. And still my parents got the VAX, all while I lost jobs over it. I sat down with these people for hours explaining it all with receipts and STILL they got the shot. The only reason my MIL didn't was because one of her friends said she wasn't going to. These boomers are spineless and all they actually care about is their retirement. That's all they can think of, that "some day" they won't have to work. They're eternal children who don't know how to take ownership of their choices. Truly the weakest generation. Buy the silver from her, she'll get a better deal than a LCS and so will you, then you can laugh when she asks what you did with the metal when it hits $1000 an oz.

depends. if ur just buying a small amount (relative to your net worth) buy physical. If you're buying a lot i'd by both, because realistically physical is a bit illiquid assuming you want to "cash out"

Kinda, but the second point cannot happen because physical silver is way scarcer. People severely underestimate how scarce physical silver is.

It's really hard to increase the amount of silver being mined while keeping the cost of mining the silver low enough that it's profitable to mine. This is referred to as "supply inelasticity," meaning the supply can't be easily increased simply by throwing more resources at the problem.
>>
>>61702388
Most silver is generated as a byproduct of other mining operations, like copper, zinc, gold, etc.
So new production can come online, especially as prices rise, but it's a slow process

Wise advice.
There is a reason you aren't supposed to talk about finances.
Normies are never truly grateful if they listen to you. They attribute the success to their own genius.
And if the advice fails they will blame you.
If they ignore the advice and it turns out to be correct, they will be envious.

It's a lose, lose, lose situation.

Poor people are often stupid people and they deserve to stay poor. It's better that way.

It takes 10 years for a new mine to open.
Even if they increase production, let's say by 10x, your yearly silver quota becomes 1.6 ounces in the best case, it's still so little.
They can't increase it by 10x, if they could even by a little bit, they would have done it by now to keep the price low, SETF is already 5 years old.

Question. Have refineries ACTUALLY melted down junk constitutional silver? Has that ever happened? Seems to me that would be the actual signal for a crippling shortage. Beyond that, melting down maple and silver eagles. Sometimes I wonder if the making of high numismatic value coinage exacerbate the industrial shortage because no one is willing to melt them.
>>
>>61702530
If physical silver does another 100x then you already made it, it doesn't matter anymore, sell and buy huge amounts of land and housing.
