Not enough of the shops have enough capital to fund the purchases when the supply chain was the refiners giving you money right away like credit once they got the metals so some LCS lived hand to mouth and built an unsustainable business model based on that. Now that refiners are waiting until the metals are processed once sent in, that implicit line of credit vanished so LCS can't buy without that capitalization. Either they retool themselves or die.

As promised, I went to my LCS today and bought all of his cull dimes. In total there were 16 slick seated liberties and one slick Capped Bust Dime. Since he never updated his prices on them, they were still $5 a piece.And before you ask, I don't feel like straining my eyes to check what dates and mint marks they are right now. If I happen to find a CC or a key date when I check them in a few days, I'll let you guys know, but I don't have my hopes up in the slightest.
