One case had some interesting gold pieces (older style jewellery) currently priced below melt value. I asked the people running the joint if I could have a look in the display case, turns out the owner of that stall spends the winters in Spain. He rang up and told the manager not to sell anything from his display cases due to the recent price rises, he wants to come back and update all his prices. I asked when he would be back and was told not for another 4 weeks.One black guy and his foreign mate had arm full of silver plate, they were going from stall to stall collecting anything silver plated. Had about 4 coffee mugs (early 2000’s at the very oldest) and about 50 spoons all plated. You could tell by the sound they made clinking into each other and the lack of weight. They went to the till with huge smiles on their faces like they had got the deal of the century.
