This is a recent development, only in the last 4 months or so. I don't scrap a lot, probably like 6 loads a year. I don't do cans either, but there's no recycling in my municipality, so cans and other low grade aluminum have been a boon for local fulltime scrappers. It's not an access thing, my yard's about 150mi from the ports at Galveston. From what I understand they can't get anyone to take it right now. I didn't ask too many questions because it doesn't really pertain to me. When I do scrap, it's usually a trailer full of electrical and industrial trash. The stuff that pays best by weight.

It just occurred to me that what could be happeniing is, since they know the COMEX/LBMA know they won't make it past the end of March before having to declare a force majeure and going out of business due to getting caught out on their fractional reserve paper silver scam, that they are deliberately keeping the price down to reduce their cash liabilities for when they have to cash settle. This is likely why JPM removed a bunch of silver from registered.

They knew it would be blown out in a fire sale and wanted to keep the assets for themselves.

So here's the plan:
1. Remove silver from registered so it can't be delivered.
2. Short the fuck out of the paper market, increase margins to fuck over the paper longs and bust the stops.
3. Force majeure and cash settle at an artificially low price and say fuck the goyim, laughing as they rub their hands.

THE POINT IS THAT NO ONE WANTED TO BUY SILVER OVER $100. REFINERS DID NOT WANT TO BUY IT. LOCAL COIN SHOPS DID NOT WANT TO BUY IT. ONLINE COIN DEALERS STOPPED BUYING OR RAISED THEIR LIMITS. KEK. IF SILVER HITS $150 NO ONE WILL BE BUYING IT KEK. THATS THE PROBLEM WITH METALS. NORMIES DON'T WANT TO BUY ROCKS AT SUCH HIGH PRICES.

I had some ETFs, and I sold them all. They were up about 50% because I got in early, so I cashed in a capital gain.

I kept all my physical, but what I'm thinking about doing is selling it down to the USD amount I originally invested in it in April 2005 (I was really early because I was listening to Trump), so I would be selling about 2/3 of my physical and keeping 1/3 of it, and maintaining my USD investment.

That way I can take certain profits and still have insurance for the crash, which is only probabilistic, not certain.

I feel like a dummy because I didn't sell my ETFs when they were really higher. I sold them midway through the crash. I should have sold them at the top. Those numbers were too crazy. I should have known that and sold my ETFs. Fuck. Oh well, I still made good because I got in so early that it was easy.
>>
>>61774168
I'm in Canada yes. They did have silver up until around mid-january. My point is that people keep saying it rugged because uh.... people sold? Where the fuck is the fucking silver? This is basic supply/demand. If the price drops, clearly it means people sold. As per what these retards keep reeeeeeeing about every fucking thread. Yet.... absolutely not a fucking gram of silver to be purchased anywhere. Even the miners don't have shit right now. "Notify me when available" is not inventory. It should be overflowing by now. Where the fuck are my "worthless boomer rocks" god dammit. I want them.

They were gone mid-month last month. best i can think is there are some scrounged 1oz generic pieces laying around. but if you read all these threads they'd have us believe they have dump trucks full of "worthless boomer rocks" behind every LCS. So much so that i'd rent my own dump truck to fill up on them. I mean they're worthless right?

they literally cannot do that anymore. once it was decoupled from the currency the fiat dollar lost its whole ass to the point that if they tried that now it would break the system overnight. remember what they did when JFK tried to keep things going that way.

Spot is the raw silver.
The 1oz coins or whatever you see in the store is Spot+ Value Add.
Aka they take raw silver at $70 then the mint turns it into shiny coin and price it at $80 then the store takes their cut at $90.

It could happen but not for the dollar, not as it's right now. May ss well start a new coin and kill the dollar all together because it's incompatible with metal backed as it's now.
But to give you a better answer, inflation would completely be reduced to almost nothing but also everything would be way more expensive because the dollar would need to match silver and gold value, not the other way around. Then prices would level once people start to be paid in gold and silver backed papers, you may see what appear as lower wages but their purchasing power would be higher than the inflated fiat.
>>
>>61774333
I say get rid of paper completely. We already dont use cash. Funny enough, this was why BTC was created in the first place. it SHOULD be the global currency. But due to logistics, the next best thing is to return to coins.

Someone said they thought brics might make a combined silver backed currency yesterday. I can't explain how bad of a take this is. It's not possible in today's perpetual debt market to make a currency with any physical backing even something ridiculous like 1,000 bricbucks to 1 silver ounce. It doesn't matter what the rate is, it's impossible. They would be lapped by all other economies immediately. The derivatives market is like 1000x the stock markets and it would not be possible to value them in a physical-backed currency, and attempting this would collapse the entire system.

I wish they would try, because it would give us a reset. But they know it's not possible
>>

>>61774328
If it did, which it can't, but if it did. Well I don't know. The dollar would have to be revalued. Problem is the leveraging banks have on each one is sky high. like 500:1 or 1000:1. It used to be 10% (9:1) but I don't think that's been the case for almost a century now. Shit if we did go back, by some magic of magics, you could probably buy a meal for a dollar again. You have to understand, however, that this action would destroy most commercial banks. Pretty much all of them would become insolvent overnight and need bailouts. The global financial markets would be in shambles.

true but most people are pussies and don't want to rock the boat so they will not take it. until things are bad enough to where they are personally effected they won't be in on this new underground economy. but thats effectively what will end up happening when they push this CBDC bullshit. people will just go underground with their purchases and incomes.

What we mean by "hiding" them is just putting them in your socks or some shit, not actually hiding them in a secret compartment. They should be there but without being the first thing you see when you open your bag. If you hide them in a secret compartment or in the shoes you are using, you will get detained if they find out and they will interrogate you. Even if you have proof, even if it's below the import tax declaration threshold, they will interrogate you if you try to downright hide it like that.
But sure you can put them inside a shoe you have in your bag. Or in your socks or using your clothes to cover them but they shouldn't be downright hidden, just protected.

Depends actually
I had a problem once with some silver coins, they were below the tax declaration thing value but they claimed it was above because they claim the numismatic value of the coins was way higher than their actual value. They made me pay the import duty for a single coin because i manage to get them accept their metal value but also somewhat rare copper cent was lost in the mess up. Still this cost me both time and money, more because I had to get an import agent to recover that coin. I think after all this increase in silver I broke even when it reached 60$. It was a big coin, more like a platter. It was a big ass 1kg australian "coin".

They're posited as a leveraged play on silver, though please note there are very few actual silver only mining companies, most of the silver is produced as a byproduct of other mining so if you're going to play the miners game then consider looking into some of the base metals miners since the increased revenue from silver byproduct sells should be flooding them with cashflow.

I just don't know man. The LCS boomer I visit barely had any Eagles. There was a decent selection of crusty looking 1 oz bars though. But, I digress, this is not sustainable in the slightest, yet our Jewish Overlords can put the spot price wherever they see fit and destroy Chink Commodity Market in the process too.

EU silver has 20% VAT, but the good news is that many dealers are now willing to buy it back with this VAT included and resell it adding VAT only on their margin, so the spread is much better.

Ill watch once the kids fall asleep.

On an unrelated note, went to the only local place that buys and sells bullion etc. They sent 18kg of mostly .999 for melt last week. Good for them but i wouldve liked to rummage through it and pick some out. Dont really have lcs' here but typically bigger bullion dealers in the cities have boxes with melt-destined silver and gold theyve bought. Some of my favorite pieces ive found like this.

There are two sides to every border. Making a declaration when leaving the USA is one thing, making a CUSTOMS declaration when entering the other country is another matter. The USA exit bullshit just requires the declaration and no tax or fee. Unless they have some reason to suspect you of criminal activity, it should be routine. On the other hand, the requirements for entering the second country will vary by country. You may need to declare anything of value over a rather small amount and PAY duty on the imported item. This is why Japan requires declaring ANY amount of gold upon entry. They are going to tax it.

Depends on two factors which will flow into the spread and your bottom line:
- Premium on gold and silver: You lose some when selling, and you need to pay up when buying
- Tax, depends on differential or VAT

According to my spreadsheet, if I were to swap 1oz gold for silver at my dealer,
with differential tax and 100€/20€ premiums,
I'd get 37oz which makes the loss on spread 38%.

Sounds like a shit trade currently.
You're betting that the GSR will return to 1:37 or lower in that case to break even.
