>bro AI will replace all coders
>trust me bro
>1 jeet with ChatGPT is like 6 gorillion senior devs
>6 millions lines of code in just 4 years guaranteed
>trust the tiktok hype surfing influencers and old boomer podcasters that have 0 fucking idea what they are talking about
>also trust Elon Stank, the AI salesman doing a salespitch that the value of all software is going to 0 (salespitches from salesmen promoting their products they want to sell - are top tier sources of information, just the best)
So I've seen analysis based on use from thousands of developers from a top 50 global corporation where the analysis says that AI tools make developers about ~9% more productive, after they spend many weeks learning how to implement it in their daily routine.
Thoughts?

Depends on what you're doing. If you're a web developer it probably makes you 20x more productive. But if you're doing anything even remotely complicated, the value diminishes quickly.
I just use LLMs to try to save me time on typing code, but I still have to triple-check everything it writes because it's prone to retardation.

Cont
>use of LLMs does not improve ones:
>understanding of software design principles
>programming skills
>problem solving
>or understanding of written code
You do not become a better coder over time with use of LLMs, you just become a LLM prompter, not a software developer

>because LLMs are very prone to errors
>to use LLMs efficiently one needs strong programming skills, understanding of code and software creation principles

Sounds about right

yeah you have to know what you're doing to get much benefit out of it. I think a lot of people with no coding experience were unaware that most coders were already copy and pasting existing code like they do now with an LLM

I’d like to believe there exist actual gifted autists here who could provide very good answers, but they’re too busy making bank by making something with AI or
even helping with its development.

I've half assed an application form for 1 AI development related position at 3 a.m. but I got ghosted
