Should I just pay off my student loans? I already paid most of it. I want to pay it off early so I can run away from my life and stop being a lawyer eventually. I figure what is the point in paying interest for three years to then just pay it off... at the same time the rates are not astronomical and I could put that money to work.
>>61828824Just keep voting Democrat, they will forgive student loans once they control the government again.
>>61828861You are mentally ill.
>>61828824You're better off paying the minimum and investing the difference. Especially because your listed rates are really pretty decent when compared to the wider market right now. As long as the prime rate is where it is I would keep this debt and pay off others.
>>61828824>interest rate ~5%>inflation rate 3-7%>index fund returns 7-14%idk man seems like a pretty easy equation on what you should do with extra cash flow
>>61828861>Just keep voting Democrat, they will forgive student loans once they control the government again.if only it were that easyin reality you are a slave, so get to work
>>61829126I hear you...>>61829105Yea again, I hear you. It's just the psychological component of not being in debt.
>>61829316i paid all of my loans, smallest to largest, considering each "no longer paying X a month" as a pay raise. Just pay them off and then stick the payments into investments.
>>61828824I'm literally betting on being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and having my loans forgiven. The jews in government will never see a cent from me.
>>61828824I would hold stocks or even bbb clos before paying that off...even ignoring the arbitrage, you could always die and they get wiped. There are also creative ways to avoid paying with no penalties if they are federal.
The interest rate is lower than you could (probably) make off of investments.
>>61831287I would say maybe it is worth paying the interest if you know 100% you will eventually pay them off, but if you qualify for it in the first place, your tax bracket is not that high. Only if you're in a really shitty state.
>>61829316>It's just the psychological component of not being in debt.once youre up 5-10% on an index fund in 3-6 months it feels a lot better
>>61831289You under estimate me>>61831328True. Shit could also crash tho
>>61828824It always baffles me how Americans are forced to pay student loans and boast about freedom, in Europe education is free as it should be.
>>61832139The cheatcode is to do a year in the air force then tell medical you're a schizo/anxious/can't sleep/limp dick/headache/knees and back hurt. Then you get free college and neetbux for life.
>>61828824Pay the ones at 5%, pay half of the one at 4%
My Gen X parents had their student loans forgiven a few years ago. They went back to school for their Masters and took out loans again and aren't paying it back, they are wealthy and can if they want. It will be forgiven again and you'll look like a fool.
>>61829316>It's just the psychological component of not being in debt.Physical money in your pocket is debt get a grip

You clearly want to pay it off and are looking for someone to enable your mathmatically incorrect decision. Go be a big boy and choose for yourself. >>61832139Europe's education is subsidized through US military DOD contracts allowing Europe to have a barebones military. If America pulls military support all of Europe becomes incapable of providing any socialized benefits without enormous irreparable budget deficits. You should be thanking our student loan system for forcing wagies to keep contributing.
