>>61842393This is literally what corporations and the government do too though. The massive concentration of wealth (the top 10% owns more than 90% of bonds and equities, and half that it loaded into the top 1%) means that the rich have almost all the wealth and literally cannot consume fast enough to spend it down. Whereas the welfare state, because it is financed by debt rather than taxes, is also like a giant debt funded pass through to mega corps (consider market concentration, 80% of the value of the average US grocery cart goes to 10 firms), which then give it to share holders and top level management. Likewise, low rates have for years helped prop up asset prices. The reason you could have billion after billion pumped into crypto is because there is just too much money seeking returns and even sketchy investments are worth it given the incentive structure. It'll only stop working when they system spins out of control by cannibalizing all remaining norms and values and making most people into poor, state reliant welfare receipts who are no longer economically (or even militarily relevant). But we might have 50 years of crisis and life support by then, and by that point our post-human overlords will probably just cull 99% of the homo sapien population as obsolete.
