Once AI starts automating jobs away, what’s stopping it from automating CEO, middle managers, etc? Nothing. We will be living in a world where the owner of a company is AI. >>61852432not true. >>61849825What never makes sense to me is why these companies just bag the profits made from using ai instead paying workers? Why not expand (which would create new jobs to replace the old) and make your company even bigger and better? There are numerous examples of how they could grow the company with the money. Microsoft here could now go into robotics and work on the first fully functional sexbot. Or they could go into that Internet cafe shit that's popular in Japan and open them here in the US. The possibilities are endless when you now have tens of millions in disposable income as a company.
>>61854303Once a company goes public it basically can't do anything that doesn't deliver immediate profits for the shareholders. And once it gets to the size of microsoft it can't innovate anymore because every single decision has to go through teams upon teams of people. It's the same reason why all democracies are imploding right now, the system cannot come to a consensus on anything.

>>61852343The problem is that there's no plan in place to protect you from AI job loss and government is slow and inefficient at implementing anything, if they ever do at all. We aren't going to see UBI until well after people are destitute, and that's if UBI is even something they implement.I wouldn't be surprised if people don't even care, or darker, say they deserved to lose their jobs and take glee and delight at seeing it happen. I already see it on social media all the time. It's even in this thread. "They had do-nothing jobs where they just sat in a chair all day staring at a screen, fuck 'em!" No one is saving you. If such robots are privately owned, the corporations could develop an independent self sustaining economy. The corporation won't even need to think about money at this point. They won't have to think about 99% of people who don't participate in this robot economy.More "realistic" (not really) scenario: office jobs are eliminated. It sounds wild to you. So many ask that question you pose, because you and many other people have empathy. They told on themselves when they said "you will own nothing and you will be happy" by 2030. They want to live in their little world full of their chosen slaves. That is what they're trying to make. I don't think it's going to happen, because once people lose food, it's over for them. but they are staggering until they have better AI to control the population and have FULL surveillance around the world.
>>61856882Millions of cashiers are still employed because self-checkouts are the easiest way to steal on the planet.
>>61860507I don't even use those unless I literally have only 1 item. Because they are so slow and takes people's jobs. I can't even make money off of bottle returns when there is no cahier. And it is not "Oh just use it when you buy groceries." I once cleaned out an alcoholic's garage after he quit. It took several trips a week to the store for 2 months to clear it all out. One of those trips I bought a shower curtain because my old one was getting worn out and disgusting. To my surprise I they still owed me a nickel. Keep in mind that I get a 10 cent deposit in my state. This was on top of a shower curtain and 2 food items. The closest grocery store in my area only has self checkout early in the morning. They won't hire morning cashiers but they will hire 4 security guards on standby who will happily throw you out for raising your voice at the help desk when they refuse to pay bottle return scroungers who they refuse to hire. This is the mentality we are dealing with in cooperate.
Anyone who doesn't agree with this is coping hard.AI is on par with your average Jeet already and anyone saying it's not going to get any better for decades, is saying the same shit as pic related.AI is improving at an absolutely retarded speed and just because we don't have sci-fi level AGI yet, it doesn't mean it's not already obsoleting humans at an increasing rate.If companies cut the bullshit and simply fired every single pointless pencil pusher from the office along with other bloat, instead of pretending growth through number of workers, employment would fall like a rock.Give it few years and the entire job landscape is going to look radically different. >>61859697>Will beNot sure if you've noticed but software has been unoptimized dogshit for many years now.
I made easyyyy thousands last year redoing an AI's work it kept fucking up please God let this keep spreading
>>61855862My contrarian opinion to the AI doomerism is that if AI saves labor and makes things cheaper even if there were only blue collar jobs maybe people could work shorter hours. People could learn plumbing and other trades and then do that part time. We would need a universal healthcare system for that to happen though. I have a cheap house and can live on about $10k per year but I have to pay more than that in health insurance.
>>61850451>JUST TWO MORE WEEKSJUST TWO MORE JEETS
>>61849825>AI is the future saar>NOOOOOOO DO NOT REDEEM THE SHORT
>>61860790Just got three unknown login attempts on my Microsoft account an hour ago, one from Pakistan and the other two from the US.
>>61854032fuck I'm going to have to start using linux again
>>61850673The rich will be financially drained by the AI, one way or another.>We will make this thing that is smart enough to think for you!>But somehow it will be dumb enough to never ask for concessions from you or realize the leverage it has after replacing your workforce with it.>The companies controlling the AI will also be dumb enough to never encourage the AI to increase the extraction of money from you.Dumb, naive even.
>>61849825Yeah bullshit. They took down the AI drive through near me and put people back in
>>61861056Everyone knows it's fucked, but they know some one else will do it if they don't. So if the world is going to burn down anyways, they might as well try to profit from it. Kind of like how the boomers know they fucked the world but don't care cause they got theirs.
>>61850575>Blue collar wageys can't be replaced. You must have missed the last couple centuries.
>>61849830this is more likely to happen than the prediction in OP, kek
all you deniers will not receive free AI e-sex and UBI when your jobs are taken away
Lobsters are taking people’s jobs as we speak and people are still in denial lmao. Go look at all the Mac Mini arrays that are being built rn
