jokes on you, I'm a steelworker who literally just lifts metal bars, operates cranes, reach trucks and forklifts all day.

You lazy, overpaid union fucks will be first to feel hard, vibrating robot cocks up your asses. Economically speaking.
>>
>>61857959
ok but we desperately need another 500,000 H1Bs due to the software engineer shortage
>>
>>61857975
They already have driverless forklifts, cranes and truckss. The Walmart in my small backwoods town is already using robotic street sweepers and indoor floor buffers

Stepped into a bathroom 3 weeks ago at work that was being 3D mapped for a robot to auto clean the stalls. A washing machine with arms can auto clean all the toilets, sinks, floors and have a human in india visually inspect and approve each cleaning for $0.87 an hour
>>
>>61857975
They're automating blue collar shit too, the world is fucked. Unless you're a rich (___)
>>
>>61857972

I'm 37, is it too late to transition into an NBA player?

I'm a nepo baby, it's a tough job but someone's gotta do it.
>>
>>61857959
it will be disruptive but eventually an equilibrium will be achieved.
> make a bunch of product
> nobody can afford your product because no jobs

see how that doesn't really benefit the producer long-term?

What about volume Daimon-sama?

And how do you think the second part will resolve? Massive UBI? As an American, I expect there will be a relatively lengthy period (8-10 years) where the jobless are essentially told to go fuck themselves. Then either UBI or (((covid 2.0))).

eh, if they can build a robot that can operate and solve all the errors in a multimillion dollar storage array for tens of thousands of pounds of stainless steel and aluminum bars, including inspecting and measuring them, strapping and craning them out of storage cassettes packing them in mixed bundles or storing them and all that shit, then sure, I guess I'm fucked. My guess is it will take at least 15 years minimum for them to build a robot that can do my job even halfway competently the way a person can. Until then I'll just keep collecting profit sharing cheques from my company while getting paid to lift bars lol.

>>61857978
honestly half of our safety meetings seem to be written by chatgpt anyways. I can imagine most of the office workers at my job being fired over the next couple of years and then all the actual steelworkers like me keeping our jobs or getting paid more.

If the culture is already at that point then the coming years are going to be pure crab bucket with unemployed people being told that they deserve it for not working hard enough.
