Hey guys, new to /biz.
Anyone here a small business owner? Whether its retail, online, or any form of self employment outside of daytrading.

Ive owned a small regional retail chain for 10 years in the US. Currently have 7 locations and would love to either give any advice to people who are interested in creating a business, and would love to get advice from people as well.

I'll have to get rid of my wretched socialist government to even begin thinking about opening a business

What kinda of retail? Do you suggest buying the building with your business loan?

That sucks, anon. Maybe claim political asylum and come to America and open up a daycare.

I'm in the vitamin/supplement industry.
As far as buying a building? That's a loaded question. 1. If you're getting a business loan, you generally need to have multiple years of positive business taxes and a relationship with a bank, or you personally need to already have capital, and property as collateral.

2. It largely depends on the area. Where I'm at, some of our stores have 7k rents and the buildings are millions. Your idea might make more sense if you're talking about a warehouse/HQ

this is a chinkcoin gambling board for undeveloped low IQ gen z'ers. if you want to have intelligent discussions about business with smart productive men come over to /pol/ >>>/pol/catalog

Honestly, I do keep up with politics because i think it's important to be informed, but I'm done having any sort of actual political affiliation.

This actually ties in perfectly to being a business owner because you can escape the matrix of thinking your vote will change your outcome. It's really more about being 1 step ahead and innovating in a crumbling economy.

With that being said i think pol is pretty gay. I haven't really posted on 4chan in years. Just trying to help out younger people. I used to be a basement dweller 10+years ago

I would hope someone starting a business has more than the shirt on their back

I know that, I'm just speaking about the loan question. Many many people i talk to assume the govt or banks Just hand out SBA loans.

How do you market? How much do you spend? What platforms? Is it a franchise? Where do you get your products?

>I would hope someone starting a business has more than the shirt on their back
Imagine living in the 1960s where you could do this without even a shirt on your back. Though to be fair, minimum wage was 1oz silver per hour (whatever the fuck that's worth right now) so working 4hr days as a newspaper boy was probably more lucrative for less stress.

On a totally unrelated note, anybody know how to get food off the ground? Commissary kitchens I'm talking to are being real niggers and apparently I can't do this shit out of my garage like every other chain did 50 years ago

Me and my brother run a digital marketing agency.
It's literally the worst business model ever, but if we solve enough problems in theory we will make big money.
We charge clients $6-10k per month now, but the real money is when we can get good enough to work for bigger corps that pay $25K per month or higher.

Main marketing is facebook/instagram and an email blast. Though frankly, our business model is all about customer service, personalization/customization so our website is just the cherry on top for sales. Thats also cope knowing we could do better but its not our bread and butter.

We typically spend about 2500/mo on a photographer/videographer/content guy. He also designs all web and physical media. We also have a demo team that visits gyms in the area 3 to 4 times a week.

Its my business partners and mine, not a franchise. We did however juat sell licensing rights to someone who is using our name and brand and opened their own shop.

Weve started to manufacture our own product line for pre workouts and certain vitamins a year ago, but we order direct from large brands in our industry and anything else, we order from regional distributors. Things like protein snacks and energy drinks.

Man, i would love to pick your brain on this. I mentioned it above but it's the one area my company could improve on. Whats the ONE thing you recommend that gives you the best return for your dollar. Weve worked with a ton flof local agencies throughout the years but none really helped us gain traction.

If you already have a channel that produces $100k's per year, then A/B testing new creative can occasionally produce a +15% gain in revenue or higher for a few days of work.
