> Real state agent says she made a mistake, that the owner says the ad shows a 5% lower rent than what she wantedFucking hell, how I hate these fucking people. Why can't we make landlords and realtors disappear overnight? As if wasting 10% of my income on some shitbox wasn't enough, I have to deal with these wannabe scammers.
>>61884247Check and see if they pulled your TWN. If they did, then that means they saw you make more money and they wanted to raise the rate specifically because they know they can squeeze more out of you.If they show up on a TWN search then you have a slamdunk false advertisement lawsuit.
>>61884264Dunno what a TWN is, I assume some kinda financial background info thing. No need, though. I told them my wage and had to send them papers to verify it.I'm not american. I doubt I can do anything about it other than try to reach an agreement or tell them to fuck off. It's not really that much money, so not a single lawyer would give a shit, and small claims courts don't exist in my country. Also, apartments are more expensive in the area, and, unlike others, this one includes almost everything (bed, fridge, ...).
>>61884312It's "The Work Number" which is used for employment and salary verification for Americans. Just another part of our hypersurveillance dystopia in burgerland.Since you're not a fellow burger I can't help you anon.
>>61884312>I doubt I can do anything about it other than try to reach an agreement or tell them to fuck offI still haven't decided, though...I have multiple alternatives: there are apartments that are much cheaper but shittier (farther from my workplace, quieter but worse areas, ...). Also, like I said, there are other apartments for about the same price (though only a few, most are more expensive).>>61884343Right. I was thinking more about getting advice on strategies here, but thanks for your help.
