Kind of new to this - does this mean that people aren't asking for physical delivery? How can open interest drop when registered stays the same?

Paper Fiat USD and the US govt policy hegemony it is tied to, has passed the event horizon.
It can now only reap what it hath sown, chaos, destruction and ruin.
Godspeed, ameritard sisters.
>>
>>61895230
I'm no expert myself, but as far as I know...
Open interest is the futurer contracts (5000oz per) not rolled over to next month yet. Those that are still left on first notice day (27th) are standing for delivery. That's the purple line. The green line is "registered" silver, meaning silver in the vaults that can potentially be delivered right now. If more contracts stand for delivery than silver is available it's a default and COMEX blows up, in theory. But they don't have to deliver everything right away, deliveries are usually spread out over the next month so in theory they'd still have some time to source more silver. Problem for them is registered (deliverable silver) is also slowly bleeding out, so it's going to be extremely tight even if enough contracts roll over.
tl;dr if the purple line doesn't go under the green line in the next 3 days there will be fireworks
>>
>>61895263
K
>>
>>61895257
Yes, that is exactly what it means. Most contracts are usually continuously rolled over to the next month and never stand for delivery. There can be exceptions like last month where like 90% stood for delivery or something, but that's usually what happens. The silver leaving registered right now would be mostly from the February contract being delivered I think.

Is it time for copper yet?
Copper bullion is pretty consistently sold out. Harder to find copper bullion than silver for some reason.

I watched some french company open it's online store yesterday at 11 am, and half an hour later they had sold out all their bars. They were selling 1 kg copper bars for 27e with their logo on it.

For me I really like how copper looks and smells and feels. Out of my silver /gold /copper fondling pieces the 10 oz gaiger bar has seen the most love and it's not even close xD

Yeah crazy premiums, but you know what? You don't have to sell those 1 oz copper coins for scrap. You can actually sell them for pretty much the same price you bough. They're refined pretty products that are worth what people are willing to pay for them. You don't measure the value of a chair by how much the scrap wood is worth either....

>>
>>61895282
you do you but regardless of how nice some bars seem, the insane premium keeps me back. I have a friend who started collecting wire offcuts and such. We plan on smelting either bars or make our own coins with it sometime. already tried to make sterling silver rings a while ago but we couldnt get the heat proper.
>>
I just keep buying gold because I can't justify the massive premiums that gets charged on silver. Can any of you lads convince me to buy a tube (25) 0.1 oz coins? As an investment it's shit, but it's better a better insurance against total collapse, as I'd rather starve to death than trade my gold for food.

nice. I prefer rounds and bars myself. Much easier to sell too. People are just willing to pay more for a nice 1 oz round than they would for a 1 oz worth of plumbing pipes.

I actually have some heavy copper nails which is my equivalent of scrap.

I bought my 10 oz geiger bars about 5 years ago for 25 dollars / piece. Now they are selling in ebay for 60-80 dollars a piece. Sold listings. When i bought them copper was 4 dollars / pound. Now copper is 6 dollars / pound.

Geiger bars went up 4x, while copper only went from 4$ to 6$. Huh?

People are still measuring the value of copper bars by how much they would get if they sold it at a local scrapyard. That's just stupid. You don't sell your pokemon cards to a paper recycling center , so why copper bars?? meth economics. Put them on ebay or FB marketplace or whatever, hello??!
>>
>>61895448
well, its like diamonds and i dont like it.
intrinsic value/ metal value from industrial demand is a more solid base in my personal opinion than a potenitally persisting/potentially vanishing trend. When i look at my junk silver coins, noone is gonna pay more for the designs on them, in fact i bought all of them below silver spot price even. So no, measuring by scrap price is not stupid. We just like to invest our money in different ways and are happy with different outcomes, as i said; you do you.

That would have been a win for Iran. Israel STARTING the war, because they were afraid that SOMEDAY (two weeks) Iran might eventually get a nuke, then LOSING the war and using nuclear weapons on a non-nuclear power.

Not even jews could spin that. Iran is a big country with lots of population. She could take the hit. Israel on the other hand would be done for. Where would all the sex offenders go?

The biggest problem would be mopping up all the chosen who've infested all the other countries.

I think the US is desperately buying as much gold as they can, as quickly as they can. They might be getting from EU government vaults, and are trading munitions for it so that the spot price of gold doesn't move.

I don't believe they are buying that much on the market.
>>
>>61896117
it depreciates the dollar. It would be a bunch of inflation all of a sudden and stocks/equities get a little volatile.
>>
gold and silver won
crypto lost
it's that simple
>>
>>61896117
When the price of gold moves, but silver doesn't the ratio goes up, and arbitrage knocks it down. Would you trade an ounce of gold for 120 ounces of silver? I would.

The other factor is when the price of gold goes up, modest stackers like myself get priced out, so we switch to silver. A trickle becomes a trend and eventually, silver overshoots and the next thing you know is the ratio is 15:1, so people start abritraging in the other direction, selling silver to buy gold.

They only count people "actively" looking for work. They don't count people who've given up in despair. As you point out, the number of people who are working two or more jobs has increased, and they double count those jobs.

Just paid a guy 2 ASE’s to shovel my whole driveway and the sidewalk. Was a little pricey I guess but I bought them for $23 and I’m very appreciative since I’m sick with covaids right now and can barely move. Silver is the only thing I’ve ever used to pay for something outside the dollar. So far it’s been haircuts, trash removal and now snow removal

There is, this year it's the Giglio flower. They also make a 10 ouncer, a sealed roll of 20 and IIRC it's available in gold as well.
Next year from what I heard they start with the fauna so it's going to be an animal.
Silver being so high made me go back to buying numismatically cool coins instead of phils, brits and maples.

A call option is just a bet. Someone is betting that gold will be $20k or more by a certain date. If they win the bet, they win big, if the lose the bet, they only lose the money they spent buying the calls.

Call options are derivatives and are part of the quadrillions in derivatives exposure worldwide.

I have created a high-tech fart exposure cage, shown here with a brave morgan for demonstration purposes only, to be used with a plastic bag containing my farts. I think a day of eating taco bell and hard boiled eggs will create the most concentrated sulfur farts, and whatever coin I choose to "tone" will be cleaned with acetone beforehand for the best exposure.

For the same reason you don't fully mix cream into coffee. The unequal dispersion of ingredients creates a gradient. Variety and depth of flavor > consistent flavor throughout. It's the same reason rice isn't fully mixed into most asian dishes. Having control of how you eat your dish also enhances the experience. You ever eat one of those yogurt cups that doesn't have the fruit filling mixed in? Did you save an extra portion of the filling for the last couple bites for an extra flavorful finish?

You're missing out on the taste of the sauce and mouthfeel of the pasta, by mantecating with a tiny bit of the starchy pasta water the sauce gets emulsified and develops better taste and clings better to the pasta.

Tomato tomato, though there's some dishes that more fully incorporate the sauce into the pasta as opposed to finishing with it at the very end.
>Do americans even make their own sauces or do you buy premade ones?
Certainly, but it's far more common to pick up a premade sauce off the shelf. Most everyone is wageslaving 40+ hours a week and a lot of people see cooking as more of a chore and therefore tend to simplify wherever they can.

That image is how it's supposed to work in a booming economy. Jobs are plentiful and pay well. In a shit economy where it's collapsing jobs are harder to come by than hens teeth. I think that the fact that they could inbreed very closely without dying out in a couple generations, that even with death introduced by sin they still lived for 1000 years, and that they apparently only are fruits and herbs or something indicates biology and even genetics were different before the fall (the flood and fall of babel).

you're not wrong about the bars.

>>
>>61898099
I think 5k is the new price going forward and then upward. Some people say this is a bubble or it is going to crash, but no one in this thread most likely.
Bars are more likely to be faked, especially generic ones. I personally like old gold coins, fractional ones like 20 Francs. They have almost no premium, they look really nice and they're recognizable.
Like these:
>>61896619
>>
>>61898099
Adding with 10k budget id get 5 and 10gram bars, with some or however much you want to spend
>>
>>61898087
some people might argue that gold hasn't gone up in value, the dollar has gone down. And that it will continue to go down very predictably.

if that's true then gold isn't really an investment, just a tool to recapture value lost to inflation. Though you'll owe taxes and premiums on the dollars when you buy and when you sell, so the actual amount saved might be negligible over short time frames.
>>
>>61898117
They are great. You can't go wrong either way if you buy from a reputable dealer
>>
>>61898091
Anon these people have been isolated for millennia on a tiny island. Even if every one of them started as completely different genetic stock they should still be inbred retards by now. There's no more than 200 of them at most here and now, and the island could never have maintained much more than that in all that time.
>>
>>61898069

If you have money saved or want to save money. Buying gold is the only way to protect it. How much you buy is up to you.

If you are only looking to buy gold to experience profits. Well, nobody can predict where the price is going to go. But most of us here can tell you turning worthless paper into a precious metal will at the very least maintain its value.
And history has shown precious metals grow over time.

If you only want gold bars just go to jmbullion or apmex and search for the bars you can afford. From fractional pieces to 1oz or more.
>>
>>61898129

This is just an underhanded bailout for Wallstreet.
It actually doesn't make sense that 100% of every person alive in America is basically giving ALL of their money away to Wallstreet, insurance, banks and government.
The truth is the economy is not really growing and hasn't since 1983. What we have is a massive ponzi scheme that is trying to vacuum up all the resources and then ration them back to you.
Think about Social Security. What if you bought all those bonds for your own personal account and could pass them on to your children. This is how the system "defaults". It doesn't default on the bonds. Because they are help in a pool they can now default on individuals by denying health coverage etc.
Do you see the problem here?
How can American Taxpayers run around trying to buy up all these bonds that they have to pay for? At some point enough of these financial assets will stack up so that no one actually has to work anymore. That doesn't make sense at all. Hence why smart money is buying real capital/commodities.

Yes, I use American understatement.

A fool might take that as a lack of confidence or a weak opinion.

In real life anthropologists are well aware now that a group can be isolated culturally while still being open genetically. In fact this is normal in most cultures. We often import new breeding stock, and then expect them to learn our language and culture.

As usual in biology, we have a complex and dynamic system, and outsiders look at it like it's a static thing that has never changed and never will. This is invariably wrong, and when people think "our" understanding of biology is wrong they usually mean their own understanding is wrong.

Thanks, although there are plenty of poorly thought out ideas there. The gist is that it is not even a function of financial possibility. We have a metaphysical problem where these bonds are carrying so much financial weight that at some point we are going to have to recon with the simple that that at the end of the rainbow you find this axiomatic truth: The bonds are a tax liability. So any benefit or asset sold to you that is propped by these bonds are ONLY good if you and I and everyone foregoes $200,000 of purchasing power to make them whole. At that point, we'll all lose so much value we will happily give up SS or Medicare or whatever (except for wars for isreal, of course) just to get rid of the burden. This is truly the dangerous endgame that I and many of your have arrived at. At some point all these bonds are going to have to be settled. And that is exactly what this quote by Alan Greenspan was warning us about. There is no magical accounting/finance trick to make this all possible, and that the grift if really banks being able to take a "debt" and turn it into an asset that they can sell.
It's like being on desert island so you cut off your leg so you can have a slab of meat to eat. You can't satiate yourself by eating your own ass. Nor can we just stack up debts endlessly without those IOUs taking a dangerous haircut.
>>
>>61898262
look at length of time he's been selling. Good reviews are easy to fake or get from suckers that bought fakes. But eventually you get caught if you're selling fakes. Most sellers of fake goods have high ratings and very short selling histories. If he's been selling or a few years and has high ratings he's probably legit.

I'd still get them tested though.

China actually is quite honorable in that they execute billionaires all of the time for fraud. Same goes for Russia, the state is head-honcho and if an Oligarch gets a little too uppity they kill him. As a healthy state should. America and Europe have AIDs because we allow the Oligarchy (and it's heavy kosher interests) rule the roost. When we have ended up with is tax cuts and deficit spending which is the ultimate supidity for a nation. Instead of taxing someone for the money to rebuild a 50 year old bridge, we BORROWED the money from them. They turned a tax bill in to an investment. It's lunacy.
Imagine going to Walmart and buying patio set. Instead of you paying cash. They BORROW money from you. So you get the patio set and Walmart ends up having to pay you for it plus interest. This is actually so ass backwards it is comical.

Good looking bar with a very nice finish. The back side had rounded edges. Most 100 oz bars look aren't impressive because they really were made for small business manufacturers. 100oz is a good size for a hobby craft ring maker that you see at small shows.
