what? who cares if someone profits off of it?

The point of prediction markets isn’t to participate as some regular person, it’s to understand the likelihood of events without useless punditry or the “analysis” of so-called experts. You’re legitimately dumb if you actually participate without some insider information, that’s just gambling.

Parasites migrated from crypto to polyjew, nice!

The first person to make money off shitting their own pants can't possibly be indian, they've been shitting their own pants for centuries and not a single one of those billions have monetized it. Crazy that the opportunity is right in front of them.

All markets should be illegal because all markets can be games via insider trading.

Did you see how the other prediction site scammed their users by claiming that death doesn't count as someone being ousted?

Congratulations on finding how the mob fixed sports betting for decades (and arguably still does). It's just that there's a bigger mob called the government who wrote laws to legitimize their schemes.

unpopular opinion: prediction markets are fine and should be regulated. its much better to have insider knowledge used in prediction markets than used in regulated securities markets.
>move insider trader from stocks to polymarket
if you're dumb enough to bet on prediction markets you deserve to be taken advantage of by people with better information. keep the insider trading out of actual investment markets.

unpopular opinion: prediction markets are fine and should not be regulated at all. If you're gonna bet on something where insider information is even possible you're a total retard who deserves to get impoverished.

Commies. They think taking the blanket off your shoulders will make everybody else warmer.
>>
Someone had to be on the other side of that gamble for the insider to scoop all that money. Cryptards deserve to lose all their monopoly money if they're going to put (collectively) 100s of millions of dollars on either side of predictions of real world events determined by decisions they aren't party to

Wouldn't using a used burner laptop be safer?

Too late. Since crypto exists you can't make prediction markets illegal. It's almost like censorship resistant currencies resistant censorship or something.

at least the polymarket scam is more clear and obvious as to what the scam is.

crypto pretends not to be a huge scam even though it is
>>
>>61922771
>at least the polymarket scam is more clear and obvious as to what the scam is.
The entire justification of the scam is that information markets facilitate faster more efficient information trade and benefit society

while corrupt politicians deserve to be punished, everyone who bet "no" would have lost that money even without insider betting.
all it did was reduce the profits of those who bet on "yes"

OP is literally retarded. I bet on Polymarket on Khameini being driven out of power because I saw a photo on /pol/ a couple of weeks ago of an enormous number of air-refueling tankers being staged in eastern Europe. You don't move all those critical assets to a third-world country unless there is a strike about to happen.

Here, I dug through my saved photos, see picrelated, it was posted on around February 19.

Was this "advance knowledge of military action"? Hell yes. Was it so fucking public that some random Eurgarian was snapping photos of those aircraft weeks ago? Hell yes.

I roughly doubled my money on that one bet. Literally anyone could have made it. I even posted about it on one of these boards, I forget if it was /pol/ or /biz/ or /k/, FFS it might have been /ck/ for that matter since I troll there regularly.

OP is just pissed off because he is stupid and lazy.

Fucking antispam filter is making me break this up to figure out which keyword it's objecting to.

>>61920945
>>61921014
Yeah, they do this because of Jim Bell.

Back around 2000 or so, Bell published a whitepaper on "assassination markets" where people could place "bets" on when and how people were going to die, with the underlying idea being that people could create a market for some politician "totally not dying any time soon", then other people could "predict" that the politician was going to be assassinated by airstrike on, say, February 28 2026, and then if that politician was assassinated by an airstrike on that date, that user would "win".

He got sent to prison over it.

So, now, these "prediction markets" go out of their way to say "nooooo you can't bet that someone is going to get killed, that would facilitate assassinations!" I think it's chickenshit because random assassins aren't going to be telegraphing their moves on prediction markets, but nevertheless, here we are.

>You’re legitimately dumb if you actually participate without some insider information, that’s just gambling.
You don't need "insider information", you just need to have a rational worldview, which the fucking stupid leftists who bitch about these sites don't have.

"Will Joe Biden pardon Hunter?" was the most obvious "hell yes he's gonna pardon Hunter!" bet ever. It was at 6% on Polymarket because Joe pinkie-promised at a news conference that he totally wasn't going to do it. All the fucking stupid leftists dogpiled on how he definitely wasn't going to pardon his son from felony tax evasion and felony firearms possession by a drug addict charges.
