I think the USA prefers around $50 a barrel
>>61921032At this point, US is one of the nations with least amount of care about oil prices. They are net exporters now and still oil isn't a big percentage of their export revenues
>>61921053Agreed. Still not ideal. I think the economy is strong overall but is facing a lot of shocks and tensions.

>>61920995>>61921029>the duality of anon>>61920990Kind of mad I didn't position ahead of time but I lost my ass betting on natural gas prices before at one point in the middle of the Ukraine war. Who would have guessed the weather would have been such an important and variable factor. Oil doesn't have this issue but if you were expecting a decline in economic activity then you were likely bearish or neutral oil. There's always next war I guess.
>>61921032There are divergent desires in this country for oil. 60-70$ a barrel makes a lot more of our domestic production viable and profitable at the cost of all other economic activity being more costly. A lot of interests outside of oil wouldn't give a shit about importing more of it if the price was right.
>>61920990+8% at the moment
>>6192105336% of US' primary energy consumption is from oil. The world average is 30%. US arch-rival China is at 18%. High oil prices are VERY bad for the US.
>>61920990I voted for this

>>61921513>>61921400>Trump places an export cap on oil to tamp domestic prices>Gives out lovely oil and natural gas, the best gas, to good boy allies like japan and euro countries that put up with him.>Leaves BRICS chuds in cold to deal with $150 a barrel.oops. thank you for your attention on this matter.
