did crypto nerds ever stop to think that maybe using massive amounts of computer power and electricity to solve pointless math problems wasn't sustainable, especially during times of international turmoil?

Solving the trust problem with currency is only pointless if you're a jew that thrives on parasitic IOU banking systems (that metals dont solve btw)

Have you ever thought how much more useless your video games are than mining crypto?
>>
>>61921199
They're too autistic and infantile in their thinking. Oldest memory is of playing Nintenshit games like Super Smash Bros in 2008 while their parents labored through the Great Recession. Most have no adult understanding of what real hardship is like. Not yet anyway.

>>61921213
Is trust in currency more important than being able to put food in your belly? Most of the cattle don't care.
>>
>>61921199
You ever consider how useless most work is?
>>
>>61921213
Also, how can you trust bitfuck if it gets manipulated every year by the likes of FTX, Jane Street, Blackrock, etc.
>>

It warmed my room

>Most of the cattle don't care.
Who gives a shit? This is finance not politics, it only matters what rich people think. And rich people think it's really neat that you can move wealth across borders with 0 effort via crypto. For some billionaire in China it's kind of the only way to do it, they have tight capital controls. They also think it's really nice that you don't have to rely on a custodian who eventually will fuck you over. US is about the only country where people believe in their custodians, everyone else does not.

The on/off ramps are all controlled, retard. You're probably sitting a bag you bought when it was a lot easier to acquire it, and still think things are business as usual. Keep dreaming.
>>
>>61921325
I never suggested sovereign currencies are not going to not collapse. They will. Just that bitcuck won't be your escape hatch. Gold and other hard commodities is the escape hatch.
>>
>>61921345
Gold isn't a currency. Its a rock. Good valuation depending on market uncertainty, inflation, liquidity crisis etc. But it's not a currency, and IOUs for it have failed miserably in the past. Regardless of how adopted crypto becomes, one of it's main functions is solving for this trust issue, regardless if people like yourself are too retarded to understand or safely use it.
>>
>>61921357
I guess that's why sovereign banks are buying bitfuck and not gold, right? Oh, wait...
>>
>>61921361
If you think that's an argument to anything I said, then all I have to say is that Satania is a very fitting avatar for you.
>>
>>61921357
Also, just to rub it in.
>>
>>61921357
You're making shit up. Crypto is a decentralized database that stores a mapping of wallet addresses -> numbers. Changing the number is possible only by submitting a valid database transaction, and appending to the chain of transactions is computationally expensive. That's all it is and all it will ever be. The number doesn't mean anything, you're hallucinating that it's money, but it's just a number. You're giving away your real money to have a right to change a number in a database, hoping that someday this database will be used for every transaction in the world, or that a bigger fool will pay you even more money for that right.
>>
>>61921404
Good points, anon.

>The number doesn't mean anything, you're hallucinating that it's money, but it's just a number
this is every single currency ever, especially now more than ever since everyone has digital bank accounts using digital centralized bank run ledgers.
The number is what it is, and is valued as its valued, and some amount of work is required to make these numbers appear, and the bitcoin network is a real thing. Seething about it is not an argument.
>but my metals
Works until the goy go to redeem their gold, aka the trust issue I kept referencing.

>>61921404
but duuude, i can change a number in a decentralized databaaaaase im rich you owe me real world goods and services ok
>>
>>61921367
Not the own you think it is. They are just buying gold to tokenize it on the blockchain with tether gold (which is fucking pointless and no different than any other gold IOU, bitcoin solves this)

>>61921404
>The number doesn't mean anything, you're hallucinating that it's money, but it's just a number.

Dumbest shit I've ever read. You understand "money" is just a social construct right? It doesn't actually exist.
>>
>>61921453
No, the number in your bank account is not a meaningless number. Dollar is a legal tender, you are forced by law to accept it as a payment. Government violently guarantees that if you have dollars, you will be able to buy food for dollars, food/dollar ratio may fluctuate, but it will always be worth something, and if a seller refuses to accept your dollars, you can call the police and they will beat him up and close his shop. Nobody guarantees that anyone will accept crypto for anything, it's a number that has no attachment to reality.

>Dumbest shit I've ever read. You understand "money" is just a social construct right? It doesn't actually exist.
ok but most people think your social construct of buttcoin is retarded sooo. doesn't seem like the best long term play to me
>>
>>61921498
You're genuinely not intelligent enough to have this conversation if you think fiat magically has a "non-construct" basis because you're forced to use it for taxes. That's still a construct. All currencies are a tool and a social construct.

The dollar is rapidly collapsing if you haven't noticed. The government authority that gurantees its value is about 40 tirllion in debt. Sad the only argument never-coin fudders can make essentially boils down to: "this paper fake money has real value because a cabal of satanic jewish pedophiles, who can just print more of it, says it does"
>>
>>61921521
>>61921527
the point is, even for all its faults, USD is better than buttcoin. deal with it lmao. or keep le hodling as it bleeds back to 20k and lower.
>>
>>61921521
>bro laws are just a made up construct
It is a construct, backed by law, and you cannot refuse dollars as a form of debt payment. Monetary transactions are based on the legal tender, even if it's barter, the cost basis of a barter transaction is calculated in legal tender. Crypto is not a legal tender, it's nothing, with a dollar value assigned to it through a collective delusion. Same goes for rocks.

Where can I redeem digital bitcoin for physical bitcoin?

Buttcorn will be forgotten while the mutated cavemen after ww4 will still be trading shiny rocks and killing each other for more until the sun evaporates this planet.
>>
>>61921738
buttcoin will always be remembered as the tulip craze 2.0, no doubt
>>
>>61921745
That's the one most people know about but really this is more akin to the mississippi french craze or the south sea bubble in uk. You even have all the shitcoins pop up just like the shitstocks that popped up around the bubbles Anybody that knows an ounce of history has seen this before.

People never change.
